Documents
When visiting Austria, the documents you need depend on where you are traveling from. Remember to bring essential travel documents like a valid passport, a Visa (if needed), ETIAS (if needed). You should also bring supporting travel documents such as travel insurance with proof of coverage for medical emergencies. Other helpful documents we recommend bringing are a form of ID such as a driver’s licence.
Clothing
Packing for Austria really depends on the season and the regions you’ll visit. Here is a break down of things to pack by month. Spring (March–May): Light layers (long-sleeve shirts, cardigans, sweaters). A warm jacket or coat. Comfortable walking shoes. Umbrella or light raincoat. Summer (June–August) Light, breathable clothing (t-shirts, blouses, shorts, dresses). Light jacket or sweater for evenings. Comfortable sandals or walking shoes. Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen). Sturdy hiking boots, activewear, rain jacket. Fall (September–November) Layers (sweaters, long-sleeve shirts, light jackets). Warm coat for late. Scarf and umbrella. Closed shoes or boots. Winter (December–February) Heavy winter coat, insulated and waterproof if possible. Thermal base layers. Sweaters and warm trousers. Hat, gloves, scarf. Waterproof boots with good grip.
Electronics
When taking a tour to Austria we recommend that you bring you: a smartphone for maps and translations, an adapter, charging cables, a power bank, a camera, portable WiFi/ an eSIM and headphones/earbuds.
Toiletries
When packing toiletries for Austria, it’s best to cover both your daily essentials and a few extras depending on season and activities. Here are some of the products we recommend you bring: Toothbrush & Toothpaste, Deodorant, Shampoo & Conditioner, Body Wash, Moisturizer (face + body, air can be dry in winter), Lip Balm (especially useful in cold or windy weather), Sunscreen (during the summer), Prescription Medications (in original packaging, plus a copy of prescription), Basic First Aid Kit, Contact Lenses + Solution / Glasses (if needed) and Feminine Hygiene Products (pads/tampons are available in Austria, but it’s always best to bring some just in case).
