Several overland camping itineraries offer designated family departure dates; while these trips aren’t exclusively for families, selected dates are especially suitable for those travelling with children. Nothing compares to seeing wildlife up close in its natural habitat, and these action-packed adventures are sure to keep younger travellers engaged. Lodge-accommodated safaris are another excellent option for families, generally recommended for children aged 12 and above. The minimum age for overland safaris in East Africa is 8 years.
