Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to New York
Our East Coast adventure begins in New York City. After you've checked in to our start hotel, we’ll dive into the highlights of this iconic metropolis. Get ready to explore the city on foot and by subway – an authentic New York experience!
We start the day with a tasting tour in DUMBO, a revitalised industrial area now known for its stylish shops, cafes, and restaurants. Afterwards, we’ll walk off a few calories with a stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge, enjoying sweeping views of Manhattan while your guide shares stories of the bridge’s remarkable construction.
At lunchtime, we head to Chelsea Market – a buzzing food hall and shopping space that was once home to the factory that invented the Oreo biscuit. From here, we’ll take a guided walk along the High Line, an elevated former railway line transformed into a public park, complete with curated gardens and lookout points.
Next, we make our way to the west side to catch the Staten Island Ferry. This scenic ride offers excellent views of the Statue of Liberty. Once back on land, we explore Wall Street, see the iconic Charging Bull, and visit the moving 9/11 Memorial.
We end the day in the heart of Times Square, with an optional dinner at a high-rise restaurant in Koreatown.
Day 2 - Philadelphia
New York City - Philadelphia. We depart New York City for a 1.5-hour drive to Philadelphia, arriving late morning. Our city tour begins with a visit to Independence Hall – the birthplace of both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. We’ll also pass the former homes of notable Philadelphians such as Betsy Ross and Benjamin Franklin, and view the famous Liberty Bell.
As we wander the cobbled streets lined with colonial architecture, it feels like stepping back into the American Revolutionary era. Next, we visit the vibrant Reading Terminal Market, where you’ll find everything from cannoli to hand-rolled doughnuts.
Once appetites are whetted, we continue to the 9th Street Italian Market for a series of tastings. This century-old market, filled with generations-old shops, serves up Philly tomato pie, artisanal cheeses, and much more. Of course, no visit would be complete without sampling a classic Philly cheesesteak – and we’ll show you the best spot in town and how to order like a local.
Afterwards, you’re free to continue exploring or return to the hotel to recharge ahead of tomorrow’s journey to Washington DC.
Day 3 - Washington DC
Philidelphia - Washington DC. This morning we travel three hours to the nation’s capital. Upon arrival, your expert guide will help you get your bearings and plan your ideal afternoon on the National Mall. Explore the many free Smithsonian Museums, including the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Air and Space Museum, and the Natural History Museum. You’ll also have access to the Washington Monument.
In the evening, we reconvene for dinner followed by a memorable night tour of the illuminated monuments – a truly striking way to see DC’s landmarks.
Day 4 - Washington DC
This morning, we visit Arlington National Cemetery to witness the solemn Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We then continue to Mount Vernon, George Washington’s historic estate.
On our return to Washington DC, our 4-day East Coast explorer tour concludes. Your guide will assist with transfers to the airport or your onward accommodation.
