Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Bangkok
Touch down in Bangkok, where your family adventure begins! After settling into the hotel, you’ll meet our tour leader and fellow travellers for a tour briefing. In the evening, hop in a tuk-tuk for a fast-paced ride through the city’s lively streets, then sit down to a welcome dinner and get to know the group.
Day 2 - Bangkok at Leisure
Wake up to our first full day in Bangkok with a choice of optional experiences. You can spend the day at leisure or join a visit to two of Bangkok’s most iconic markets - the Maeklong Railway Market and the colourful floating stalls of Damnoen Saduak. The Maeklong Railway Market is known to ‘disappear’ when the working train tracks it sits on are needed to let a train pass by!Alternatively, you can cruise along the Chao Phraya River, hopping off to explore temples and street food spots along the way.
For something more serene, drift through the canals on a teak boat past riverside villages and stilted homes. You'll be able to enjoy views of the beautiful Wat Arun and Wat Paknam temples from the water. This evening, you can join the group for dinner and a wander through a local night market.
Day 3 - Bangkok to Erawan Falls & Kanchanaburi
Bangkok - Kanchanaburi. Bangkok – Kanchanaburi. This morning, we’ll check out and leave the capital behind as we journey west towards Kanchanaburi. En route, we’ll make a private day trip to the stunning Erawan National Park, home to the famous Erawan Waterfalls.
Spend time hiking through the lush jungle trails or take a refreshing dip in the emerald pools — each tier offers a new, picture-perfect spot to explore. This beautiful park, set along the River Kwai, is one of Thailand’s natural highlights.
In the late afternoon, we’ll continue our drive to Kanchanaburi, arriving in the evening to check into our next hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the riverside town at your own pace.
Day 4 - Ancient Ayutthaya
Kanchanaburi - Ayutthaya - Chiang Mai. Enjoy a relaxed morning in Kanchanaburi, or opt for an e-scooter adventure through the countryside, passing rice fields and local farms before stopping at a Chinese temple and finishing at the famous River Kwai Bridge.
After lunch, we’ll check out and continue our journey with a visit to the ancient city of Ayutthaya, a UNESCO-listed site of crumbling temples and rich history. We’ll explore the ruins, and you will have time for dinner before boarding an overnight sleeper train to Chiang Mai.
Day 5 - Chiang Mai Homestay
Arriving in Chiang Mai this morning, we head straight to our welcoming local homestay, stopping to grab some breakfast on the way. After some time to refresh, we're enjoying a family friendly, hands-on painting workshop inspired by elephants - one of the city’s most beloved symbols. After we've finished creating our masterpieces, we enjoy a gentle stroll through a local village before returning to our homestay for dinner.
Day 6 - Ethical Elephant Sanctuary
Today promises to be one of the highlights of the tour, as we make an unmissable trip to a local ethical elephant sanctuary. Observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat and learn all about how they live in the wild. For children and adults alike, this promises to be a memorable day.
We tuck into lunch at the sanctuary before heading to our Chiang Mai hotel. Later, you can unwind or join an optional Thai cooking class and enjoy the meal you make for dinner.
Day 7 - Temples, Monks & Optional Sticky Waterfall
Our day starts at a local temple, where we have the chance to chat with a monk and gain insight into Buddhist life. Next, we visit the mountain temple of Wat Doi Suthep, with its sweeping views, pagodas and golden spires.
We'll get back to the hotel at lunchtime, and this afternoon is at leisure. But if you're keen for more, there's an optional trip this evening to the unique "Sticky Waterfall", where you can walk straight up the rocks thanks to their natural grip.
Day 8 - Chiang Mai to Phuket
Chiang Mai - Phuket. After breakfast, we’ll check out of our hotel and head to the airport for our included flight to Phuket. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to the hotel, where the rest of the day is free to explore at your own pace.
Relax on the beach, stroll through the local markets, or enjoy a peaceful evening in this beautiful island paradise.
Day 9 - Phuket at Leisure
Today is yours to explore Phuket at your leisure. Spend the day relaxing on the stunning beaches or indulge in activities like visiting the YONA Floating Beach Club, taking a half-day tour of Phuket’s Old Town and Wat Chalong Temple, or even trying a scuba diving course.
If you’re feeling adventurous, you could opt for a canoe tour of Phang Nga Bay to see bioluminescent plankton or join a local cooking class.
Day 10 - Phi Phi Islands Day Trip
Join us on our final day in Thailand for an unforgettable included day trip to the Phi Phi Islands. Cruise around the islands by speedboat, snorkelling at Viking Cove, swimming in the crystal-clear waters of Pileh Lagoon, and relaxing on the soft sands of Maya Beach. We will then enjoy lunch on Phi Phi Island.
We’ll also visit the stunning Bamboo Island before returning to Phuket in the evening for a free night.
Day 11 - Hello Cambodia!
Phuket - Siem Reap (Cambodia). This morning, we leave Thailand behind as we head to the airport for our included flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia.
On arrival, we’ll take a guided walking tour of the city, where you’ll visit the oldest pagoda, receive a blessing from a monk, and explore the Royal Gardens. The day ends with a chance to do some souvenir shopping at the Made in Cambodia market. You can also join the group for a traditional Cambodian dinner and Apsara dance performance.
Day 12 - Exploring Angkor Wat
For early risers, there’s the opportunity to see the sunrise from a hot air balloon for a unique perspective of Angkor Wat. After this optional activity, the rest of today is dedicated to exploring this world-famous UNESCO World Heritage site, where we’ll tour the temples in reverse to avoid the crowds.
We visit the iconic Ta Prohm (known from Tomb Raider), Bayon Temple, and the mighty Angkor Wat itself. If you still have energy, explore Siem Reap’s night market or enjoy a performance at the Phare Circus, which supports local children’s education.
Day 13 - Siem Reap to Phnom Penh
Siem Reap - Phnom Penh. This morning, we depart Siem Reap by private transfer and journey south to Cambodia’s vibrant capital, Phnom Penh. Along the way, we stop at Sambour Prei Kuk, a peaceful forest temple complex set near the Tonle Sap River. Explore the ancient ruins and enjoy a picnic lunch among the tranquil surroundings.
We arrive in Phnom Penh in the late afternoon and check into our hotel. You can choose to relax or head out for some fun - join the group for an optional round of mini golf at Koh Pich’s riverside course, complete with dinner served at the on-site restaurant.
Day 14 - Exploring Phnom Penh & S21 Prison
We start the final day of our tour with a visit to the S21 (Toul Sleng) Prison, a sobering reminder of Cambodia’s dark past under the Khmer Rouge regime. Here, we’ll learn about the prison’s history and have the chance to meet a survivor.
After a break for lunch, kids can join our tour leader for a visit to Factory Phnom Penh, a lively cultural and creative complex. They can enjoy activities like trampoline parks and skateboard zones, meanwhile adults can join a local guide for a visit to the Killing Fields, to learn more about the despotic Pol Pot regime and the genocide he committed against more than a third of his own population.
In the evening, celebrate the end of our tour with an included dinner cruise along the Tonle Sap River, enjoying a BBQ and traditional music on a wooden boat.
Day 15 - Phnom Penh
Today marks the end of our family adventure. After check out, make your own way to the airport or your next destination. Safe travels!
