Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Bankgkok!
Your Thailand adventure begins today. On arrival in Bangkok, meet your group and tour leader – the journey starts here.
Once checked in, we jump straight into the action with a tuk-tuk tour, zipping through Bangkok’s lively streets to one of the city’s rooftop restaurants. Enjoy a selection of authentic Thai dishes while taking in panoramic views of the skyline. Round off the evening with a drink at a stylish rooftop bar, or head back to the hostel for an early night - the choice is yours.
Day 2 - Bangkok to Chiang Mai
Bangkok - Chiang Mai. Spend the morning at your own pace. If you’d like to explore more, join our optional temple tour of the Old City, visiting landmarks such as Wat Pho, Wat Arun and the Grand Palace. (If you’re joining the temple tour, please check out before departing.)
In the afternoon, return to the hostel to freshen up before we head to the train station for our overnight journey to Chiang Mai – a memorable experience offering scenic views and a chance to get to know your fellow travellers.
Day 3 - Hike in Chiang Mai & Homestay
Arrive in Chiang Mai this morning and meet your local pick-up at the station. We'll stop for breakfast (not included) to fuel up for the adventure ahead, before travelling to our homestay nestled in the peaceful countryside.
Once settled in, enjoy a freshly prepared home-cooked lunch, then lace up your boots for an afternoon trek through Chiang Mai’s lush jungle. We’ll drive to the starting point of our 4–6 km hike, which takes around two hours at a relaxed pace. Along the way, we’ll pause at a waterfall, the perfect spot to cool off and take in the sounds of the forest. After the trek, return to the homestay for dinner and an evening of good company. Share stories from the day and unwind with a restful overnight stay surrounded by nature.
Day 4 - Chang Chill Elephant Park & Cooking Class
After breakfast, we visit Chang Chill Elephant Park – an ethical sanctuary dedicated to observing elephants in their natural environment. We’ll enjoy a guided walk through the forest, learn about elephant behaviour and conservation, and watch them roam freely. We'll enjoy refreshments while we're here and enjoy lunch by the river before we leave.
In the late afternoon, we check into our Chiang Mai hostel. There's an optional Thai cooking class in the afternoon, where you can learn the secrets behind some classic dishes. This evening, you can opt to attend an exhilarating Muay Thai show – a must for sports enthusiasts.
Day 5 - Exploring Chiang Mai
Today begins with a ride in a traditional songthaew - one of Chiang Mai’s classic red trucks - followed by an unforgettable Monk Chat experience, offering a fascinating glimpse into Thai culture and Buddhism straight from the monks themselves.
Next, we’ll visit more of Chiang Mai’s remarkable temples, including the revered Wat Doi Suthep - a mountaintop temple crowned by a gleaming golden stupa and offering sweeping views across the city.
After soaking up the temple atmosphere, return to the hostel for a well-earned rest. In the afternoon, those seeking more adventure can join an optional trip to the Sticky Waterfall, a beautiful limestone cascade about 1.5 hours away, where you can climb across its naturally ‘sticky’ rocks.
Back in Chiang Mai, enjoy the evening at leisure. You might like to head out for dinner at your own pace, or, for those looking to experience the city’s nightlife, make your way to Zoe in Yellow -– Chiang Mai’s famous clubbing spot. Directions will be provided by your tour leader, though you’ll travel independently - just remember to keep your hostel card safe.
Day 6 - Free Day in Chiang Mai
Today is free to explore at your own pace. For adventure, you might try whitewater rafting or another trek through the surrounding landscapes. For a slower pace, wander the Old Town and discover local cafés and shops.
In the evening, visit the local market for souvenirs and street food – a perfect way to experience regional flavours.
Day 7 - Farewell
After checking out of the hostel, it’s time to say goodbye to your travel crew. If you’d like to extend your stay, we can help arrange extra accommodation or transfers so you can continue exploring.
