Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Sweden
Arrive in Stockholm and enjoy a private transfer to your centrally located hotel.
Begin your Scandinavian adventure with a relaxed walk through Stockholmâs historic heart, Gamla Stan â the Old Town. Stroll along its cobbled streets lined with colourful façades and discover landmarks such as the Royal Palace, Stortorget Square, and Stockholm Cathedral. Continue down VĂ€sterlĂ„nggatan, dotted with charming shops and cafĂ©s, before finishing at the waterfront near the Parliament for classic views across the city.
Day 2 - Stockholm to Karlstad
Stockholm - Karlstad. Spend the morning exploring Swedenâs elegant capital. Make your way to the meeting point to join a canal tour â a perfect way to admire Stockholmâs beauty from the water. Known as Beauty on Water or the Venice of the North, the city is built across 14 islands, surrounded by Lake MĂ€laren and the Baltic Sea. Its grand public buildings, palaces, and museums tell a rich 700-year story.
In the afternoon, travel by train to Karlstad, set in the delta where the Klara River meets Lake VĂ€nern â one of Europeâs largest lakes.
Day 3 - Karlstad to Oslo
Karlstad - Oslo. Today we travel by train to Norwayâs capital, Oslo. Upon arrival, take a stroll along Karl Johans Gate, the cityâs main boulevard, passing the Royal Palace, Parliament, and National Theatre. Continue to the lively harbour area at Aker Brygge, known for its cafĂ©s, boutiques, and waterfront views. Conclude the day with a visit to Oslo City Hall, where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held each year.
Day 4 - Journey to the Fjords
Oslo - Myrdal - Flam. This morning we board the train to Myrdal, travelling through forests, lakes, and mountain scenery on one of Europeâs most breathtaking rail routes. The line reaches Norwayâs highest station at Finse before descending to Myrdal.
From here, we continue aboard the famous Flamsbana to Flam â one of the steepest railway lines in the world. The journey passes rugged mountains, cascading waterfalls, and winding tunnels, offering spectacular views at every turn.
Day 5 - Flam to Bergen
Flam - Bergen. Today we set sail on a fjord cruise from FlĂ„m to Gudvangen, gliding through the UNESCO-listed Aurlandsfjord and NĂŠrĂžyfjord â dramatic arms of the mighty Sognefjord, often called the King of the Fjords. Many regard these as Norwayâs most beautiful fjords â weâll let you decide for yourself.
From Gudvangen, continue by shuttle bus to Voss and then by train to Bergen.
Day 6 - Cruise to Stavanger
Bergen - Stavanger. This morning, you may wish to take a ride on the Floibanen funicular to the summit of Mount Floyen for sweeping views across Bergen and its surrounding landscapes.
In the afternoon, make your own way to the ferry terminal and embark on a cruise to Stavanger. Upon arrival, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel.
Day 7 - Stavanger and Overnight Cruise
Spend the day discovering Stavanger at your own pace, or join an optional cruise to the iconic Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) for stunning fjord views.
In the afternoon, transfer privately to the port and board your overnight cruise to Hirtshals, Denmark.
Day 8 - Aarhus
Stavanger - Hirsthals - Aarhus. Upon arrival, a private transfer will take you from the cruise terminal to Hirtshals station for your train journey to Aarhus.
The afternoon is yours to explore Denmarkâs vibrant second city. Stroll through the charming Latin Quarter, visit Aarhus Cathedral, browse the shops along StrĂžget, and perhaps enjoy panoramic views from the ARoS Art Museum rooftop.
Day 9 - Aarhus to Copenhagen
Aarhus - Copenhagen. This morning, depart for Copenhagen by organised coach. The journey includes a ferry crossing, during which the coach travels on board â a scenic trip of around 3.5 hours in total.
In the afternoon, join a guided classic canal tour to experience Copenhagen from the water. Glide past the cityâs most famous landmarks, including the Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Palace â the royal residence â and the historic Stock Exchange building. Enjoy the cityâs charm and history as you sail through its picturesque harbour and narrow canals.
The remainder of the day is free to explore at your own pace. We recommend visiting the Tivoli Gardens in the afternoon or evening (entrance not included).
Day 10 - Farewell
Enjoy your final morning in Copenhagen before your private transfer to the airport for your flight home or onward journey.
