Day 1 - Stockholm
Welcome to Stockholm! Upon arrival, we'll transfer you to your hotel, after which you'll have some leisure time to relax or explore at your own pace. Later, visit the hotel's reception area to find important information about the start of your tour on the boards. Stockholm, spread across 14 islands, offers an intriguing mix of history, culture, and modernitytake the opportunity to begin discovering it at your leisure. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Stockholm - Mora
On the second day of our journey, after enjoying breakfast, we'll embark on a guided city tour of Stockholm, a stunning capital spread across 14 interconnected islands. Our exploration begins in Gamla Stan, the vibrant and lively old town, commonly known as the "City between the Bridges." Here, we'll visit notable landmarks such as the Nobel Museum, which honours Nobel Prize winners, set alongside the historic Stortorget square, the city's impressive Cathedral, and the majestic Royal Palace. We'll continue to the Fjllgatan viewpoint, offering beautiful vistas over Stockholm. After the tour, you'll have free time to explore at your own pace.At around 4:00 p.m., we'll depart for the northwestern region of Sweden. We'll journey through pleasant landscapes featuring rolling hills, fertile agricultural lands, charming small towns, and scenic lakes before arriving in the evening at Mora. This small city, situated between two lakes, is historically significant as the place where Gustav I of Sweden rallied support in 1521 to oppose the Danish invasion.
Day 3 - Mora - Funsdalen - Roros - Trondheim
On day three, we set off early from Mora and journey into the stunning landscapes of Norway, where expansive forests, shimmering lakes, and towering mountains form our constant backdrop. Our first stop is Funsdalen, a well-loved ski resort where you can relax and soak in the alpine atmosphere. We then continue to Rros, a historic mining town and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you'll have some time to savour lunch and explore the town's charming historic centre, famous for its well-preserved miner's cottages and a museum that offers insights into the town's rich mining history. As we journey onwards, we head to Trondheim, nestled in central Norway's coastal region. Known as the country's third-largest city, Trondheim is steeped in history dating back to the Viking era and was once Norway's capital in the Middle Ages. Highlights here include the striking 11th-century Nidaros Cathedral and the iconic old bridge spanning the canal. As evening falls, you can immerse yourself in Trondheim's vibrant nightlife and take your pick from the wide array of dining options on offer.
Day 4 - Trondheim - Kristiansund - Atlantic Road - Molde
Today, after soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of Trondheim, well continue our journey, taking in the breathtaking coastal landscapes and fjords along the Norwegian Sea. Our first stop is Kristiansund, renowned for its stunning natural surroundings and unique character. Spread across multiple islands interconnected by bridges and embankments, this charming city offers cobblestone streets filled with shops, restaurants, and cafes. Here, you'll have some free time to enjoy a leisurely lunch and explore the city at your own pace.Later, well explore the scenic wonders of the region, visiting the historic Kvernes Stave Church. This captivating 14th-century building houses a ship model and altarpieces dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Admission is included, allowing you a glimpse into Norways past architectural marvels.Our adventure continues along the renowned Atlantic Road considered one of the world's most beautiful coastal drives. This spectacular road traverses eight bridges connecting various islands, where the dramatic ocean swell adds to the scenery's beauty. We'll pause at a viewpoint to catch the breathtaking vistas.As evening approaches, well arrive in Molde, a charming town nestled along a fjord, often frequented by cruise ships. Here, you can unwind and absorb the serene beauty of this vibrant locale.
Day 5 - Molde - Geiranger - Briksdalsbreen - Loen
On Day 5, prepare for a breathtaking adventure as we journey through World Heritage Site fjords and witness spectacular glacier formations. Our day begins with a 50-minute ferry crossing over the Romsdal Fjord, where stunning vistas surround us at every turn. We'll then ascend into the snowy mountains before descending to encounter the majestic Storfjorden. Here, more jaw-dropping views await, and another 30-minute ferry ride transports us past snow-capped peaks to the renowned Eagle Viewpoint. From this vantage, you'll take in the awe-inspiring Geiranger Fjord, widely regarded as one of the most picturesque sites in Norway and listed as a World Heritage Site. In Geiranger, you'll have free time to delve into the area's beauty. You might choose to embark on a boat ride along the fjord, wander beside the cascading waterfalls, or simply relax in the charming village atmosphere.Our journey continues in the afternoon through dramatic mountain landscapes as we make our way to Briksdalsbreen, an awe-inspiring glacier nestled in its natural splendour. This is a perfect opportunity to take a hike from the base to the glacier, either on foot or, if you prefer, by electric vehicle, which is optional. As the day winds down, we'll enjoy a well-deserved dinner, with accommodations awaiting us in Loen, a pleasant town situated beside the fjord. Here, you have the option to experience one of the steepest cable cars in the world, providing an ascent from the fjord to over 1,000 metres above sea level, offering even more stunning views to end your day.
Day 6 - Loen - Bergen
Our day begins with an early departure from Loen, as we set out on a journey of nearly 300 kilometres to Bergen, showcasing Norway's natural splendour along the way. Travelling through this mesmerising landscape, we'll follow the majestic fjord shores, traverse imposing mountains, and even enjoy a scenic ferry ride that highlights the region's beauty. Upon our arrival in Bergen around lunchtime, we'll take a cable car up Mount Flyen, offering us breathtaking vistas over the city below.After our excursion, you will have the afternoon to immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Norway's second-largest city. Known for its rich heritage and dynamic cultural life, Bergen is also celebrated for its stunning natural surroundings. You might wish to explore Bryggen, the historic dock district adorned with its iconic colourful wooden buildings, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alternatively, consider visiting the renowned Bergen Aquarium or perhaps venture to the bustling fish market, where a variety of small restaurants offer a taste of local cuisine.
Day 7 - Bergen - Eidfjord - Voringfossen - Geilo - Oslo
We will set off early, leaving behind the vibrant city of Bergen. Our journey today promises a spectacular adventure, beginning with a drive across the impressive suspension bridge spanning the enchanting Hardanger Fjord one of Norway's most breathtaking sights. Well pause in Eidfjord, a quaint town nestled on the fjord's serene edge, providing a perfect setting to take a moment and bask in the picturesque surroundings.As our adventure continues, well visit the awe-inspiring Vringfossen waterfall, famed for its dramatic 182-metre plunge. Youll have the opportunity to explore the areas viewpoints and bridges, each offering unrivalled vistas of the cascading waters and surrounding landscapes.Our route will then lead us through striking high plateaus a landscape of stark beauty, spotted with small lakes and rolling snowfields that remain frozen for much of the year. This stunning scenery will guide us to the ski resort town of Geilo, where well stop to savour a leisurely lunch.Following our time in Geilo, well continue through Norways scenic landscapes, heading towards Oslo, where we are scheduled to arrive by evening. Once in the capital, you might choose to explore the dynamic city centre, stroll along the historic harbour, or venture onto the rooftop terrace of Oslo's striking Opera House for panoramic views of the city.
Day 8 - Oslo - Oslo - Copenhagen Ferry
In the morning, well embark on a panoramic tour of Oslo, Norway's vibrant capital, celebrated for its green spaces and stunning natural backdrop. Guided by a local expert, we'll pass the stately Royal Palace and pause at Frogner Park to admire its impressive sculpture collection. We'll see the exterior of the Town Hall, the historic port, and the modern Opera House. Following the tour, youll have some free time to delve deeper into the citys many attractions. You may choose to visit one of Oslo's renowned museums or simply wander through its charming streets. After lunch, well set sail on a modern night ferry, offering the comforts of a cruise ship, bound for Denmark. Our afternoon and evening will unfold onboard, with accommodation in comfortable cabins and a breakfast included the following day. The ferry is scheduled to depart at 3:00 p.m., following boarding at 2:00 p.m., and will dock in Copenhagen at 10:00 a.m. the next morning. Please keep in mind that ferry schedules are subject to change.
Day 9 - Oslo - Copenhagen Ferry - Copenhagen
As you arrive in Copenhagen in the morning, well embark on a guided panoramic tour of the Danish capital. Known for its outstanding quality of life, sustainable ethos, and rich cultural history, Copenhagen will captivate you with its charm. Our tour includes visits to the iconic Little Mermaid statue and a walk through the historic Nyhavn harbour, famed for its brightly coloured buildings. You'll also see the grand exterior of Amalienborg Palace, the home of the Danish royal family, and explore the lively City Hall Square, located near the famed Tivoli Gardens. With the formalities complete, your afternoon is free to enjoy the citys vibe as you wish. Day 10 - Copenhagen - Rostock - Szczecin
After breakfast, we'll journey to Gedser, a charming town marking the southernmost point of Scandinavia. Around 11:00 a.m., we will board a modern ferry for a two-hour crossing over the Baltic Sea to Germany. It's a perfect opportunity to enjoy lunch on board as you take in the views. Upon arrival in Rostock, you'll have the chance to explore this bustling city, home to Germany's largest port on the Baltic. Stroll through the vibrant old town, where you'll find landmarks like the Market Square, City Hall, and St. Mary's Church.Our adventure then continues southeast through the picturesque Pomerania region to Poland. By evening, we will reach Szczecin, a historic university city set along the banks of the Oder River. You can take your time to wander its charming historic centre, where the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle and inviting riverside terraces create a captivating atmosphere. Enjoy your free time absorbing the city's relaxed yet vibrant energy.
Day 11 - Szczecin - Bydgoszcz - Torun - Warsaw
After breakfast, we journey through the serene landscapes of western Poland, regions once part of Germany until the latter half of the 20th century. Our first destination is Bydgoszcz, a city celebrated for its enchanting architecture and interconnecting canals of the Vistula and Oder rivers. You'll have free time to explore the scenic parks and possibly enjoy a leisurely lunch amidst the charming surroundings.Next, we proceed to Toru?, renowned for its well-preserved Gothic architecture and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As the birthplace of the illustrious astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, the city invites you to wander its historic streets and perhaps visit Copernicuss museum-house. Our journey will continue to Poland's vibrant capital, Warsaw, where we aim to arrive by evening.
Day 12 - Warsaw
Today, we embark on a tour of Warsaw, where our local guide will introduce us to the city's blend of contemporary and historical architecture. As Poland's political and economic hub, Warsaw impresses with its vibrant atmosphere and historical resilience. Our exploration begins in the charming Old Town, which, despite being devastated in World War II, has been meticulously restored and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll wander through its atmospheric cobbled streets, admire the Royal Palace, and appreciate the blend of old and new buildings that define the area.An intriguing part of our tour includes the impressive Palace of Culture a Soviet gift to Poland standing tall with its remarkable architecture. We will also reflect on the poignant history of what was once Europes largest Jewish ghetto, appreciating the immense courage and strength of its people during the war.Our morning journey concludes with a visit to the serene Lazienki Park, where we can admire the grandeur of the Chopin Monument amidst lush surroundings.The afternoon is yours to explore Warsaw at your own pace. You might choose to delve into the city's rich history at the National Museum or the Warsaw Rising Museum. Alternatively, take some time to enjoy the lively city centre, with its enticing shops and bustling activities. Whatever you choose, Warsaws dynamic character offers a rich tapestry of experiences to savour.
Day 13 - Warsaw - Olsztyn - Elblag Canal - Malbork - Gdansk
Today, we set off for northern Poland. Our first destination is Olsztynek, where we'll explore the fascinating Museum of Folk Architecture (admission included). This open-air museum offers a glimpse into the past with its authentic wooden houses, traditional church, and ancient mills. Continuing our journey, we'll visit the Elblag Canal, Poland's longest navigable canal. Here, you'll have the unique opportunity to see how boats are hauled over land on rails to manage elevation changes, an intriguing engineering feat explained at the nearby museum. Next, we travel to the historic town of Malbork to marvel at its legendary castle (admission included, green route). Constructed in the 13th century by the Teutonic Order, this medieval fortress is not only one of the largest in Europe but also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll conclude the day in Gdansk, formerly known as Danzig, arriving in the evening. This city boasts a beautiful and lively historic centre that's perfect for an evening stroll to soak up the atmosphere.
Day 14 - Gdansk - Sopot - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry
After breakfast, we will visit the European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk, a remarkable contemporary museum that chronicles the influential Solidarity movement, pivotal in the decline of Soviet influence. Look out for the striking monument dedicated to the workers who perished during this period. Following this, we'll make our way to the Museum of the Second World Waran evocative institution opened in 2017 that serves as a solemn reminder of Poland's wartime losses, estimating 3 to 6 million lives lost during the conflict. Afterwards, there will be some time to delve into the historic centre of Gdansk before we head to Sopot, a lively seaside resort along the Baltic coast. Known for its dynamic atmosphere, Sopot features a long sandy beach and boasts one of Europe's longest wooden piers with panoramic sea views. In the evening, we'll embark on a ferry to Sweden. This modern vessel promises a comfortable overnight journey to Nynshamn, with departure arranged for 19:30. You'll be accommodated in cabins for a restful night's sleep, and breakfast will be provided onboard.
Day 15 - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry - Stockholm
Following our early morning ferry arrival in Karlskrona, southern Sweden, at approximately 6:30 a.m., we will continue our journey towards Stockholm. En route, we'll pause in Vstervik, a charming coastal town noted for its picturesque historic centre. By afternoon, we will reach Stockholm, a striking city that gracefully spans fourteen islands within the Baltic Sea archipelago.Stockholm is celebrated for its captivating history, impressive architecture, and harmonious blend of old and new. You'll have a free afternoon to wander and soak in the citys vibrant atmosphere. We suggest exploring the historic city centre, where a collection of fascinating museums and serene parks await you.
