Day 1 - Stockholm
Welcome to your tour! Upon your arrival in Stockholm, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel. You'll have the opportunity to unwind and explore at your leisure, taking in the vibrant atmosphere of Sweden's capital. Later in the afternoon, be sure to check the hotel reception boards for detailed information about the start of your journey. Enjoy this time to settle into the rhythm of the city a perfect introduction to your adventure. Day 2 - Stockholm - Mora
Following breakfast, well embark on a guided tour of Stockholm, a stunning city sprawled across 14 islands interconnected by charming bridges. Water is an ever-present feature of this vibrant capital. Our exploration begins in Gamla Stan, the citys bustling old town. Here, well visit notable landmarks such as the Nobel Museum at Stortorget Square, which pays tribute to Nobel Prize laureates, the majestic Cathedral, and the Royal Palace. From Fjllgatan, well enjoy panoramic vistas of Stockholm. Once the tour concludes, youll have free time to wander at your leisure. At around 4:00 p.m., well set off northwest, admiring the scenic landscapes of rolling hills, farmlands, quaint villages, and sparkling lakes. Well reach Mora in the evening, a charming town flanked by two lakes. Notably, Mora is where King Gustav I of Sweden rallied the people in 1521 to rebel against Danish occupation.
Day 3 - Mora - Funsdalen - Roros - Trondheim
Well set off early from Mora, travelling towards the Norwegian border. Our scenic route will pass through expansive forests, serene lakes, and rolling mountains. Our first stop is Funsdalen, a well-known ski resort where you can stretch your legs and admire the surrounding alpine scenery. Then, well proceed to Rros for lunch and an exploration of this charming historic mining town. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Rros is one of Norway's most picturesque destinations. Spend some time wandering through its enchanting old miners' houses and visiting the museum that tells the story of the towns mining past. From here, we journey to Trondheim, situated in Norways central coastal region. Once the country's capital during the Middle Ages, Trondheim is rich in history, dating back to the Viking era. As you explore, you'll discover the magnificent 11th-century cathedral and the iconic old bridge over the canal. Later, you can immerse yourself in Trondheims bustling nightlife and diverse dining options.
Day 4 - Trondheim - Kristiansund - Atlantic Road - Molde
Today unfolds with an exploration of Trondheim before we journey onwards. Renowned for its charming cityscape, Trondheim offers glimpses of the heart of Norwegian life, with historic sites such as its impressive cathedral and vibrant town centre.From there, our route leads us through landscapes marked by the unforgettable beauty of Norways coastline and fjords along the Norwegian Sea. A ferry ride across one of these majestic fjords will bring us to Kristiansund. This city is a delightful blend of nature and history, traditionally recognized as a fishing centre. Its unique appeal lies in its spread across several islands, each connected by a series of bridges and embankments, crafting a character-defining landscape for you to explore. Kristiansund invites you to wander its charming city centre, where cobblestone streets are dotted with shops, restaurants, and cafs, giving you ample opportunity to pause for lunch.Our afternoon drive takes us through remarkable scenery to the Kvernes Stave Church, a 14th-century architectural jewel. This historic building houses fascinating relics like a 300-year-old ship model and altarpieces devoted to the Virgin Mary. Building on the marvels of the day, we travel along the famed Atlantic Road, celebrated as a stunning feat of engineering set against the dramatic backdrop of the ocean. The route, with its eight bridges linking islands, provides a drive like no other. Sometimes, the powerful ocean swells augment the dramatic settinga true visual feast. We will pause at one of the captivating viewpoints to take in these magnificent vistas before continuing to Molde. Nestled along its fjord, Molde awaits us by evening as a lively stop for cruise ships and a bustling town worthy of exploration.
Day 5 - Molde - Geiranger - Briksdalsbreen - Loen
Today's adventure promises breathtaking landscapes filled with World Heritage fjords, glaciers, and charming towns. We start the day with a 50-minute ferry ride across the stunning Romsdal Fjord. Following this, we ascend into snowy mountains before descending towards the beautiful Storfjorden, offering more awe-inspiring vistas. A second ferry journey of 30 minutes will carry us past magnificent snow-capped peaks to the Eagle Viewpoint, where you'll be treated to one of the most spectacular views over Geiranger Fjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Upon reaching Geiranger, you'll have free time to explore. You might choose to take a scenic boat tour along the fjord, wander beside the impressive waterfalls that cascade through the village, or simply relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere. After lunch, we continue our drive through dramatic mountain and fjord landscapes. Our next destination is Briksdalsbreen, an impressive glacier set amidst breathtaking scenery. Youll have the option to hike to the glacier from the base, either on foot or using an electric vehicle for a more leisurely approach.Our day will conclude with an included dinner and an overnight stay in Loen, a delightful town perched by the fjord. Here, you might want to seize the opportunity to ride the Loen Skylift, one of the steepest cable cars in the world, ascending from the fjord up to over 1,000 metres above sea level for panoramic views.
Day 6 - Loen - Bergen
Today, we set off bright and early, embarking on a journey of nearly 300 km through some of Norways most stunning landscapes en route to Bergen. As we travel, we'll follow the scenic shores of the fjords, crossing majestic mountain ranges and enjoying a picturesque ferry ride. Our arrival in Bergen is timed perfectly for lunchtime. Weve arranged a cable car excursion to Flyen Mountain, where you're guaranteed some of the most breathtaking views of the city and its surroundings. After this exhilarating experience, you'll have the afternoon free to explore Norways charming second-largest city. Bergen boasts a rich cultural life and spectacular natural beauty. A must-visit is Bryggen, the historic dock area lined with vibrantly coloured wooden buildings, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Additionally, you might wish to visit the local Aquarium or explore the bustling fish market, where a variety of small eateries can be found.
Day 7 - Bergen - Eidfjord - Voringfossen - Geilo - Oslo
On the seventh day, we'll depart from Bergen early in the morning, heading deep into the heart of Norway. Our route will take us over the majestic suspension bridge spanning the Hardanger Fjord, renowned as one of the country's most stunning fjords. Our first stop will be Eidfjord, a quaint town resting on the fjord's edge, offering an enchanting setting to start our day. Following this, we'll visit Vringfossen, considered Norway's most impressive waterfall, with a spectacular 182-metre cascade. We'll have the opportunity to explore multiple viewpoints and bridges to fully appreciate the grandeur of the falls. Continuing our journey, we'll traverse awe-inspiring landscapes of barren high plateaus scattered with small lakes and snowfields, which remain frozen for much of the year. Our path will lead us to Geilo, a popular ski resort town, where we'll pause for lunch amid its charming alpine surroundings.Post-lunch, we'll resume our road trip towards Oslo, arriving in the vibrant capital city by evening. Once settled in, we suggest exploring Oslo's lively city centre, perhaps taking a leisurely stroll through the historic harbour or enjoying the panoramic views from the Opera Houses rooftop terrace.
Day 8 - Oslo - Oslo - Copenhagen Ferry
This morning, we will explore Oslo, the vibrant capital of Norway, known for its breathtaking natural surroundings and dedication to sustainability. We'll enjoy a panoramic tour, led by a knowledgeable local guide, where we will pass by the Royal Palace and stop at Frogner Park to admire its impressive collection of sculptures. Our tour will also include views of the Town Hall, the old port, and the modern Opera House exterior. Once the guided tour concludes, you will have free time to discover more of Oslo at your own pace. You might choose to visit one of the city's intriguing museums or simply wander through its charming streets.In the afternoon, we'll embark on a modern night ferry to Denmark, offering the comforts of a cruise ship. As we sail across the sea to Copenhagen, you can enjoy the on-board amenities and settle into your cabin, where you will stay overnight. Breakfast will be included during your stay on the ferry. Please note that the ferry is scheduled to depart at 3:00 p.m., with boarding beginning at 2:00 p.m., and is expected to arrive in Copenhagen at 10:00 a.m. the following morning, although ferry schedules may vary.
Day 9 - Oslo - Copenhagen Ferry - Copenhagen
Arriving in Copenhagen in the morning, we will embark on a guided panoramic tour of this vibrant Danish capital. Renowned for its remarkable quality of life, sustainability, and cultural heritage, Copenhagen has much to offer. Our tour will include a visit to the iconic Little Mermaid statue and a stroll along the charming Nyhavn Harbour, lined with its colourful historic buildings. We'll also view the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish royal family, and explore the bustling City Hall Square and the Tivoli Gardens area. The afternoon will be yours to enjoy at your own pace, giving you the opportunity to delve into the citys attractions or simply soak up the atmosphere of this lively metropolis.
Day 10 - Copenhagen - Rostock - Szczecin
After having breakfast, we make our way to Gedser, a charming town situated at the southernmost tip of Scandinavia. Around 11:00 a.m., we board a modern ferry for a two-hour crossing of the Baltic Sea to Germany. It's a great opportunity to enjoy lunch aboard the ship while taking in the views. Once we arrive in Rostock, you'll have time to explore this vibrant city, renowned for hosting Germany's largest port on the Baltic. The city's lively old town features remarkable sites such as Market Square, the City Hall, and St. Mary's Church. We continue our journey through the scenic Pomerania region, entering Poland, and arrive in Szczecin by evening. Situated on the banks of the Oder River, this historic university city boasts a captivating old town, complete with the Pomeranian Dukes Castle and picturesque riverside terraces. In your free time, enjoy an evening stroll and absorb the welcoming atmosphere.
Day 11 - Szczecin - Bydgoszcz - Torun - Warsaw
Today, we set off through the serene landscapes of western Poland, an area that was part of Germany until the conclusion of World War II. Our first stop will be Bydgoszcz, a city renowned for its stunning architecture, picturesque parks, and canals that intricately link the Vistula and Oder rivers. Here, you'll have the chance to explore the city at your own pace and enjoy lunch before we continue our journey.Our next destination is Toru?, a magnificent Gothic city enclosed by ancient walls. Toru?'s historical centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is celebrated as the birthplace of the famed astronomer Copernicus. You'll have free time to wander its charming streets and, if you wish, visit Copernicus's museum-house to delve deeper into his legacy. As the day concludes, we will travel onwards to Warsaw, arriving by evening in the vibrant capital of Poland.
Day 12 - Warsaw
We'll commence our day with a guided tour of Warsaw, the bustling capital of Poland with a thriving population of nearly two million people. As a significant political and economic centre, Warsaw elegantly marries contemporary architecture with beautifully restored historical edifices. Well wander through the enchanting old town, noted for its cobbled streets and grand old buildings. After their devastation in World War II, these structures have been meticulously restored, earning the area a designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.Our tour includes visits to key highlights such as the Royal Palace and the Palace of Culture a towering gift from the Soviet Union. Well delve into the poignant history of the Jewish ghetto, once the largest in Europe, before enjoying the tranquil surroundings of ?azienki Park, where you'll find the renowned Chopin Monument. The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure, perhaps visiting museums such as the National Museum or the Warsaw Rising Museum, or simply soaking up the lively atmosphere of the city centre packed with shops and activities.
Day 13 - Warsaw - Olsztyn - Elblag Canal - Malbork - Gdansk
We will start the day by heading to northern Poland after breakfast. Our first stop is Olsztynek, where we will explore the Museum of Folk Architecturean open-air museum that offers a fascinating glimpse into the past with its charming wooden houses, ancient mills, and a quaint church. The visit is included for you to enjoy. Our journey continues to the Elbl?g Canal, renowned as Poland's longest navigable canal. Here, you will witness the unique process of boats being transported overland on rails to overcome elevation changes, a truly remarkable feat of engineering. We then proceed to Malbork to explore its magnificent castle. Built by the Teutonic Order in the 13th century, Malbork Castle is among the largest medieval fortresses in Europe and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admission is included, allowing you to delve into its rich history. By evening, we will reach Gda?skpreviously known as Danzig. This vibrant city boasts a stunning historic centre perfect for an evening stroll to soak up its lively ambience.
Day 14 - Gdansk - Sopot - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry
Our day in Gdansk begins with a guided visit to the European Solidarity Centre, a testament to the Solidarity movement's critical role in the collapse of the Soviet Union. This striking contemporary building includes a monument honouring the workers who gave their lives for the cause. Following this, weve arranged an enlightening visit to the Museum of the Second World War. Opened in 2017, this museum serves as a poignant reminder of the 3 to 6 million lives lost in Poland during the conflict. After exploring the museum, you'll have some free time to wander the charming historic centre of Gdansk.Later, we'll head to Sopot, a delightful seaside resort renowned for its vibrant atmosphere, expansive sandy beach, and its iconic wooden pier one of the longest in Europe offering breathtaking views over the Baltic Sea. This evening, well embark on a modern ferry for our overnight journey to Sweden, setting sail at 19:30. A comfortable night awaits you in a cabin onboard, and breakfast will be provided the following morning.
Day 15 - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry - Stockholm
Following our enjoyable ferry trip, we'll dock at Karlskrona, located in southern Sweden, around half past six in the morning. From there, we continue on to Stockholm, making a stop in Vstervik. This charming seaside town boasts a picturesque historic centre that invites exploration and offers a glimpse into its quaint character. Arriving in Stockholm by the afternoon, you'll find yourself in Sweden's captivating capital, a city elegantly sprawled across fourteen islands in the Baltic Sea archipelago. This vibrant city is celebrated for its rich historical tapestry and striking architecture, effortlessly combining modern innovation with traditional charm. The rest of the day is yours to explore at leisure. We suggest a wander through the historic centre or visiting the many museums and parks, offering both cultural and scenic experiences to enrich your visit.
