As you cruise, you will discover why Stockholm is often called the Venice of the North, a fitting description as the city spans 14 islands surrounded by Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. Its grand public buildings, elegant palaces and wealth of museums reflect a rich cultural heritage and more than 700 years of history.
After the cruise, you will have free time to further explore Stockholm and make your way back to the hotel afterwards.

On arrival in Oslo, make your way to your hotel and check in. The remainder of the day is yours to discover Norway’s vibrant capital at your own pace. You may wish to wander through the city centre, take a walk along the harbour front, or unwind in one of Oslo’s inviting cafés.
Day 4 - Oslo City Tour
After breakfast, meet your guide in the reception of the hotel, before embarking on a 3-hour city tour of Oslo.
We will discover Oslo, a lively capital that blends modern Scandinavian design with deep-rooted history and culture. Our guided tour takes us to Frogner Park, home to Gustav Vigeland’s remarkable collection of sculptures, before continuing to the Royal Palace, the elegant residence of Norway’s monarch.
We will also visit the impressive City Hall, where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded each year, and explore Akershus Fortress, a medieval stronghold offering sweeping views across the Oslofjord.
After, spend the rest of the day relaxing or perhaps continue exploring this amazing city independently.
Day 5 - Myrdal, Flam & Balestrand
Oslo - Myrdal - Flam - Balestrand. Our journey continues today as we travel from Oslo into the heart of Norway’s fjord region. We board the Bergen Railway for a scenic ride through dramatic mountain landscapes to Myrdal, a picturesque mountain station and junction point.
Here, we join the famous Flamsbana Railway, one of the steepest and most beautiful train lines in the world. On our way down to the fjord village of Flam, we pass towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, remote farms and travel through 20 tunnels.
After some free time to explore Flam, we set at the end of the Aurlandsfjord, an arm of the mighty Sognefjord known as the King of the Fjords, we board a fjord cruise to Balestrand. Gliding through the serene waters of the Sognefjord, surrounded by towering peaks and magnificent scenery, we pass through the stunning 17-kilometre stretch of the Aurlandsfjord, considered one of the most beautiful fjord landscapes in the world.
We also pass the spectacular Supphellebreen and Boyabreen glaciers before continuing to Fjaerland for the boat trip to Balestrand.
Day 6 - Optional Fjaerland Excursion
Today is free for you to explore the area independently. You may wish to join an optional Half Day Fjaerland Excursion. It is recommended that you book this excursion when reserving your tour, as availability cannot be guaranteed once in Norway.
Travelling by boat, you will enjoy stunning views of steep mountains, lush landscapes and emerald-green fjords. Fjaerland is the village where the fjord meets the glaciers, and here you will visit the Norwegian Glacier Museum.
Discover Ivo Caprino’s panoramic film about the Jostedalen Glacier and explore the fascinating exhibition. You will then continue by coach to the impressive Supphellebreen and Boyabreen glaciers before ending the excursion with a scenic boat ride to Balestrand.
Day 7 - Balestrand to Bergen & Bergen City Tour
Balestrand - Bergen. This morning, we enjoy an early breakfast, before taking a short walk from the hotel to the pier and board the express boat bound for Bergen.
As we travel along the magnificent Sognefjord, known as the King of the Fjords, we pass towering cliffs, peaceful villages and the tranquil beauty of Norway’s western coast.
On arrival in Bergen, we leave the luggage at the hotel before meeting a local guide for a walking tour of the city. We stroll through the historic Hanseatic Bryggen Wharf, admire the Romanesque architecture of St Mary’s Church, see the medieval Hakon’s Hall and visit the bustling Fish Market, where locals have traded for centuries.
