Sri Lanka Cultural Glimpse

On arrival at Colombo airport, we will be there to meet and welcome you. Your driver will then transfer you directly to your chosen hotel in Colombo. The remainder of the day is yours to spend as you wish you may like to relax after your journey or begin discovering the city at your own pace. This is a good opportunity to unwind and prepare for the experiences ahead. You will stay overnight in Colombo.

After breakfast, we collect you from your hotel and set off for Kandy, Sri Lankas second-largest city. As we travel, youll notice the climate becoming cooler and the scenery shifting to lush hills and greenery. On the way, we stop at a tea factory in Giragama, where you can see the tea-making process that has shaped the regions history. Once in Kandy, we visit the renowned botanical gardens, home to a wide variety of tropical plants. Youll have time for lunch in the city before we continue with a guided tour of Kandys key landmarks and vibrant streets. In the evening, we attend a cultural show, offering insight into local traditions, followed by dinner. Lunch is at your own arrangement. Overnight in Kandy.

After breakfast, we visit a spice garden before heading to the remarkable Sigiriya fortress. Rising nearly 200 metres above the rainforest, this fifth-century citadelknown as Lion Rockwas built by King Kashyapa as the heart of a fortified city. Long forgotten and overgrown, it was later rediscovered and carefully excavated. We pass through the lions belly and climb to the summit, where you can take in impressive views across the landscape. Lunch is served at a local restaurant in Sigiriya. In the afternoon, we continue to the Golden Temple of Dambulla, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and important pilgrimage destination for over 2,000 years. Here, you can explore five caves carved into the mountain, featuring extensive wall paintings and more than 150 images of the Buddha, along with depictions of deities and Sri Lankan kings. Afterwards, we return to Colombo, where your journey continues.
