Day 1 - Bentota - Negombo - Giragama - Peradeniya - Kandy
We collect you from your beach hotel and travel to Kandy, stopping en route at Giragama to visit a tea plantation. Here, we observe the tea processing and grading before enjoying a fresh cup of Ceylon tea straight from the estate. Continuing to Peradeniya, we spend around two to three hours exploring the Botanical Garden. This 147-acre garden features manicured lawns, pavilions, an octagonal conservatory, and extensive landscaped groundsoffering a refreshing break amidst lush greenery. Lunch is served at a local restaurant in Kandy before we return to the hotel for dinner. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 2 - Kandy
After breakfast, we explore Kandy on a guided city tour lasting around three hours. Discover the citys rich heritage centred on the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a revered Buddhist site. Stroll through the lakeside town to visit the Kandy City Centre, where modern shops sit alongside a bustling bazaar, an arts and crafts centre, and a gem museum with a lapidary. Experience the vibrant colours and aromas of the local market, filled with fresh fruits and vegetables. Later, enjoy a traditional cultural show featuring music and drumming that brings Sri Lankas heritage vividly to life. After the performance, we return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 3 - Kandy - Matale - Sigiriya - Dambulla - Sigiriya
After breakfast, we travel to Sigiriya, stopping en route at Matale to visit a spice garden for around 45 minutes. Here, you can learn about the therapeutic properties of various spices while enjoying a refreshing cup of herbal tea. Continuing to Sigiriya, we climb the famous rock fortress, spending approximately two hours exploring its shaded mirror wall adorned with ancient graffiti. We then visit the museum at the base, which offers insight into the ingenious hydraulic systems and architectural marvels of this historic citadel, once a royal palace and a wonder of Asia. Lunch is included at a local restaurant in Dambulla. Afterward, we return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Sigiriya.
Day 4 - Sigiriya - Dambulla - Bentota - Negombo
After breakfast, we visit the Dambulla Rock Temple, spending around 1.5 hours exploring this remarkable site. You will see intricate cave paintings adorning the walls and over 150 statues of Lord Buddha. Look up to admire the impressive golden Buddha statue that dominates the temple. Following the visit, we return to your beach hotel for the remainder of the day.
