Itinerary
Day 1 - Bentota - Negombo - Giragama - Peradeniya - Kandy
We will collect you from your beach hotel and begin the journey to Kandy. En route, we stop at Giragama to visit a tea plantation where you can observe the tea processing and grading. Enjoy a freshly brewed cup of Ceylon tea straight from the estate. Next, we continue to Peradeniya to explore the Botanical Garden for approximately two to three hours. This 147-acre garden features manicured lawns, pavilions, an octagonal conservatory, and extensive landscaped groundsoffering a refreshing break in nature. Lunch is included at a local restaurant in Kandy. Afterward, we take a guided city tour of Kandy lasting around three hours. Discover the citys rich heritage centred on the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a significant Buddhist site. You will also visit the Kandy City Centre, a bustling bazaar, an arts and crafts centre, and a gem museum with a lapidary. Wander through the vibrant Kandy market, alive with fresh produce and local colour. To conclude the day, we attend a cultural show featuring traditional music and drumming that celebrates Sri Lankas heritage. After the performance, we return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 2 - Kandy - Matale - Sigiriya - Dambulla - Bentota - Negombo
After breakfast, we travel to Sigiriya, stopping en route in Matale to visit a spice garden for around 45 minutes. Here, we explore the therapeutic properties of various spices and enjoy a refreshing cup of herbal tea. Continuing to Sigiriya, we climb the famous rock fortress for approximately two hours. You will walk alongside the renowned mirror wall, adorned with ancient graffiti, and visit the museum below to learn about the ingenious hydraulic systems and architectural marvels of this historic citadel. Lunch is served at a local restaurant in Dambulla. Afterwards, we visit the Dambulla rock temple for about 90 minutes, where you can admire the intricate cave paintings and over 150 statues of Lord Buddha, including a striking golden statue that dominates the site. Following the visit, we return to your beach hotel for the evening.
