Day 1 - Madrid
Welcome to Madrid! Upon your arrival at the airport, we'll arrange your transfer to the hotel. You will have the afternoon free to settle in before our adventure officially begins. To find out about the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travellers, please check the information signs located in the hotel's reception area. In the evening, we'll take you to Plaza Mayor and the vibrant La Latinaknown for its lively nightlife and excellent tapas restaurants. You have the freedom to choose where to dine, with a range of options including Indian, Chinese, Spanish, and Middle Eastern cuisines at your fingertips. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Madrid
Your day begins in the heart of Madrid with an insightful tour showcasing the city's central landmarks, including the Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcal, Plaza de Coln, and Plaza Mayor. We will then stroll through Retiro Park, a serene haven right in the city centre, where we will visit the picturesque lake and the stunning Palacio de Cristal. Next, we delve into the world of football with a visit to the Santiago Bernabu Stadium, home of Real Madridfamed globally as one of the finest football clubs. The afternoon is yours to explore at leisure before we return you to your hotel in the evening.
Day 3 - Madrid - Granada
We will set off early from Madrid, venturing south towards the region of La Mancha. Our first pause will be in Puerto Lpice, a delightful village that captures the spirit of Don Quixote. Continuing our journey, we will travel through the Despeaperros, a natural mountain pass, as we cross into the region of Andalusia. Our destination is Granada, where lunch will be provided. In the afternoon, should you choose the option, we will explore the stunning Alhambra Palace and its enchanting Generalife Gardens, accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide. These historic sites date back to the era of Arab rule in Spain. Please note that access to the Alhambra is stringently controlled, and entry tickets are issued once your tour is booked. It is crucial to provide accurate personal details, including your full name and passport or ID number, at the time of booking. Be aware that tickets are non-refundable in the event of cancellation. On the rare occasion that entry to the Alhambra is not feasible, we will visit the Royal Alczar in Seville, which offers similar historical and architectural intrigue.
Day 4 - Granada - Malaga - Marbella - Ronda - Seville
Today, we depart from Granada, heading towards the stunning Costa del Sol. Our first stop is the vibrant city of Malaga, where youll have time to explore the historic district at your leisure. Dont miss the remarkable cathedral and the renowned Picasso Museum. Continuing our journey along the coastal highway, youll enjoy breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea as we make our way to the stylish Puerto Bans in Marbella, known for its luxurious harbour and chic atmosphere.In the afternoon, our route takes us through the picturesque mountains, enriched by stories of legendary bandits, before we arrive at the enchanting town of Ronda. Perched dramatically on a cliff, Ronda boasts a profound canyon that splits the town, offering spectacular vistas.Well then proceed towards Seville, where well arrive in the evening. Dinner will be included at the hotel, providing a delightful end to a day filled with diverse and captivating experiences.
Day 5 - Seville
We begin our day in Seville with a city tour showcasing some of its most iconic sights. Youll marvel at the grandeur of the cathedral, renowned for the towering Giralda, and amble along the scenic banks of the Guadalquivir River. As we explore, you'll immerse yourself in the charm of Seville's beloved Santa Cruz and Triana neighbourhoods, each offering a rich tapestry of culture and history. After the tour, we invite you to unwind with an included boat ride on the Guadalquivir, where you can take in the citys stunning panoramas from the water. In the evening, consider a visit to a popular flamenco tablao, where the passionate rhythms and intricate dance moves of this traditional art form provide a vibrant conclusion to your day in Seville.
Day 6 - Seville - Merida - Evora - Lisbon
Today, we depart from Seville, winding through the charming landscapes of Andalusia and into the region of Extremadura. Our journey brings us to Mrida, where we will visit the Archaeological Ensemble, home to a marvellously preserved Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre. This remarkable site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its historical significance and preservation. Enjoy some free time to savour lunch and explore the engaging pedestrian centre, bustling with local charm and dining options.In the afternoon, we continue our journey into Portugal, heading to vora. Like Mrida, vora is also recognised as a World Heritage Site, famed for its picturesque whitewashed streets, Renaissance architecture, and striking cathedral. You'll have a chance to uncover the historical allure of this beautiful town before we make our way to Lisbon, where we are scheduled to arrive in the evening.
Day 7 - Lisbon
We begin our day in Lisbon with a guided tour of this captivating city, often referred to as the city of seven hills. Immerse yourself in its history as we wander through charming alleys adorned with iconic tiles, basking in the unique Atlantic light that has inspired generations of artists. Our journey takes us to the Belem neighbourhood, steeped in history as the departure point for the daring Portuguese navigators of the 15th century. The tour paints a vivid picture of the city's rich past and deep-rooted traditions.In the afternoon, you've free time to explore at your own pace. Consider a visit to the Bairro Alto, known for its panoramic viewpoint that offers stunning vistas of the city below. Alternatively, you might opt for an excursion to nearby towns like Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril, each offering their own unique charm and attractions.As the day winds down, we'll reconvene in the lively Restauradores Square, bustling with vibrant bars and cafes, and return to the hotel for the night.
