Day 1 - Barcelona
Welcome to your adventure in Barcelona! Upon arrival, we'll arrange your transfer to the hotel so you can settle in. The rest of the day is yours to start exploring this vibrant city at your leisure. Later in the afternoon, you'll find important information about the start of your tour displayed on the boards located at the hotel reception. Get ready to dive into the rich culture and lively atmosphere of Barcelona, a city known for its unique blend of history and modernity. Enjoy your first day in this captivating destination! Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Day 2 - Barcelona
On the second day, we begin our exploration of Barcelona with a panoramic tour of this vibrant city, celebrated for its unique blend of modernist architecture by Gaud, lively avenues such as Las Ramblas, and its rich historical tapestry highlighted by events such as the Universal Exposition and the Olympics. In the afternoon, you will have free time to continue discovering the city's attractions at your own pace. As evening falls, we'll provide a transfer to Maremagnum, a buzzing hub for entertainment and dining located by the sea near Plaza de Coln. Take a leisurely stroll through this lively area and savour a meal at one of the many dining venues available.
Day 3 - Barcelona - Peniscola - Valencia
On Day 3, we journey south along the beautiful Mediterranean coastline, reaching the captivating medieval town of Pescola. Here, you'll find a unique blend of historical charm and stunning beaches, perfect for a leisurely stroll. After soaking up the atmosphere, we continue to Valencia, arriving around midday. This port city, with its over 2000 years of history, showcases a fascinating mix of historical landmarks and modern structures. In the afternoon, a local guide will lead us through Valencia's iconic sites, including its diverse architectural styles. After the tour, you'll have some free time to explore the city at your own pace. In the evening, we'll come together to enjoy a traditional local dinner.
Day 4 - Valencia - Alicante - Caravaca de la Cruz - Granada
Our journey today takes us to the captivating city of Alicante, where you'll have time to wander along the picturesque coastline and perhaps enjoy a leisurely lunch by the sea. In the afternoon, we head south into the Murcia region to visit Caravaca de la Cruz. This city holds significant religious importance, being recognised as a Holy City by the Roman Catholic Church, thanks to the revered relic of the Cross it houses. We'll include a delightful ride on the tourist train to explore the historic area. Continuing our adventure, we travel amidst the stunning scenery of Andalusia, eventually arriving in Granada. Here, you will be treated to a delicious dinner, rounding off a day filled with cultural and scenic highlights.
Day 5 - Granada
Spend an entire day discovering the captivating city of Granada. If your itinerary includes tickets, we'll guide you through the remarkable Alhambra Palace and its breathtaking Generalife Gardens, both iconic symbols of the city's Arab heritage. In the afternoon, youll have the freedom to explore Granada at your own leisure. You might choose to visit the cathedral, the resting place of the Catholic Monarchs, or simply wander through the charming streets absorbing the local atmosphere. Please note that visitor numbers to the Alhambra are strictly regulated, and you must provide accurate personal details at the time of booking to secure your entry tickets. Be aware that ticket costs are non-refundable should you cancel. In the rare event that a visit to the Alhambra is not possible, we will arrange an alternative tour of the Royal Alczar of Seville, another site of significant historical and architectural value.
Day 6 - Granada - Tangier - Asilah - Rabat
Departing from the vibrant city of Granada, we will journey through the stunning Costa del Sol. Our travels will take us to Algeciras or Tarifa, where we'll board a modern ferry to cross the iconic Strait of Gibraltar note that the ferry tickets are included but you'll need to manage your own luggage as the bus does not make the crossing. Upon arrival in Morocco, we'll be greeted by breath-taking landscapes. Our first destination is the charming coastal town of Asilah, a former pirate stronghold now brimming with life. Here, you will have some time for lunch and perhaps a leisurely stroll along its historic walled streets. We will then proceed to Rabat, where dinner is included, marking the end of our adventurous day.
Day 7 - Rabat - Casablanca - Marrakech
Today, we begin with a panoramic tour of Rabat, where we'll explore the impressive Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the formidable Kasbah of the Udayas, all emblematic of Morocco's rich history and culture. Around midday, we'll make our way to Casablanca for a brief city tour with a local guide. This will include a visit to the exterior of the Hassan II Mosque, a stunning architectural feat and one of the largest mosques in the Arab world. Our journey continues to Marrakech, where, upon arrival, you're invited to enjoy a traditional Kalesa ride leading to the bustling Jemaa el-Fnaa square. Dinner will be provided, allowing you to absorb the vibrant atmosphere and prepare for the adventures that await in Marrakech.
Day 8 - Marrakech
Today, we immerse ourselves in the captivating city of Marrakech, a place that has inspired Morocco's very name. Our exploration starts with a guided tour of this compelling city, where we will visit its historical fortifications, the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the labyrinthine Medina, the majestic Koutoubia Mosque, and the exquisite Bahia Palace entry fees are included. Following this, take some well-deserved time to unwind. You may choose to enjoy an included lunch, relax by the pool or in the serene hotel gardens, or delve further into the city's vibrant souks for some unique shopping experiences. Later, an optional excursion invites you to join the festive atmosphere of the Fantasy Party, offering a delightful conclusion to your day of discovery.
Day 9 - Marrakech - Ait Benhadou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades
Today, we journey across the majestic Atlas Mountains, bidding farewell to the palm-strewn landscapes of Marrakech. As we traverse this spectacular range, you will witness quaint Berber villages nestling precariously along the edges of dramatic gorges. Our travels will bring us to the famous fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, a site recognised for its appearances in several films. As we continue over terrain that evokes biblical times, we will pause in Ouarzazate, known for its impressive Kasbah. Our route takes us through the Valley of Roses, culminating in Boumalne Dades, where a delightful dinner awaits. Please note that, in winter, road access may occasionally be impacted by snow, potentially altering the itinerary. Entry to the Sahara Desert is subject to road conditions.
Day 10 - Boumalne Dades - Todgha - Erfoud
On day 10, we set off on an invigorating journey through the enigmatic landscapes of the Sahara Desert. As we navigate the Valley of the Kasbahs, you will be surrounded by verdant river valleys brimming with thousands of palm trees, expansive rocky plains effortlessly blending into lush oases, and traditional adobe villages. The day includes a stop at Todgha Gorge, a stunning canyon where the cliffs dramatically rise over 100 metres on either side. As we continue our adventure, we pause in a quaint adobe town near Khorbat, offering a glimpse into the desert community supported by a local foundation. Please note that access is subject to weather conditions. Our journey then leads us to Erfoud, where you have the option to embark on an exhilarating off-road excursion to witness the breathtaking sunset over the Sahara Desert sand dunes. Lunch is included in today's itinerary.
Day 11 - Erfoud - Fez
Well set off early from Erfoud, embarking on a journey through the majestic Atlas Mountains. As we traverse this rugged terrain, you'll witness breathtaking gorges and vast landscapes that showcase the natural beauty of the region. Our route takes us across a high plateau, home to nomadic shepherds who roam its chilly expanse. A brief stop in Midelt, a bustling town known for its agricultural endeavours, offers you a glimpse into local life. Continuing our journey, we will stop for lunch, included in your itinerary, in the heart of the Middle Atlas by a serene lake amidst a stunning natural backdrop. As we travel further, you'll notice a stark change in scenery as we enter a region abundant with forests, a landscape where snow often caps the trees in winter.Near Azrou, well visit the House of Cedars in a charming national park. This small museum provides insightful glimpses into the areas natural history, and you'll have the opportunity to observe playful colonies of monkeys that call this lush region home. Our next stop is the tranquil town of Bhalil, a picturesque village where Berbers of the Middle Atlas reside. Meander through its colourful old streets, and admire the unique cave dwellings now seamlessly integrated into modern homes. Our day concludes as we arrive in Fez. Before checking into our hotel, we will take in the stunning views of the ancient city from the Marinid Tombs, setting the scene for a memorable evening. Dinner will be included.
Day 12 - Fez - Tangier
Our day in Fez begins by stepping through the grand Bronze Gates of the Royal Palace, leading us into a city that is the cultural heart of Morocco. We will explore the historic Jewish quarter, stroll through the vibrant souks, and immerse ourselves in the bustling atmosphere of the Tanners Quarter. Fez is famed for its magnificent Medina, perhaps the best-preserved of its kind, where the traditional Arab ambiance remains vividly intact. We'll conclude our morning with an included lunch at a historic palace situated in the Medina, giving us a taste of culinary excellence in a setting rich with history. As the afternoon unfolds, well embark on a comfortable journey northwards along a modern highway, cutting through the picturesque Moroccan landscape. Our travels will bring us to Tangier by evening, where we will enjoy a delicious dinner to wrap up a day filled with cultural discoveries.
Day 13 - Tangier - Seville
On Day 13, you'll have some free time in Tangier perfect for a spot of last-minute shopping or simply soaking in the local atmosphere. We'll then board a ferry for our return journey to Spain, and youll need to carry your luggage onto the ferry as the bus will not accompany us on this leg. Once we reach either Algeciras or Tarifa, well continue on to Seville. Expect to arrive in the evening, where we will enjoy a included dinner together to cap off the day's journey.
Day 14 - Seville
On day fourteen, we set out on an enchanting tour of Seville, a city brimming with history and culture. Our exploration begins with a visit to the magnificent Seville Cathedral, where you'll marvel at the iconic Giralda tower. Next, we stroll along the picturesque banks of the Guadalquivir River, flanked by charming neighbourhoods such as Santa Cruz and Triana, each offering their own unique flair. Following this, we embark on a relaxing boat ride along the river, providing captivating panoramas of the city. In the evening, you can choose to immerse yourself in the vibrant tradition of flamenco by attending a performance at a local tablao, experiencing the pulsating rhythm and passionate dance that this art form embodies.
Day 15 - Seville - Merida - Evora - Lisbon
Leaving Seville, we journey through serene landscapes of rolling hills and expansive pastures, making our way to the historical region of Extremadura. Our first stop is Mrida, where entry is included to the Archaeological Ensemble of Mrida. This remarkable site, acclaimed for its well-preserved Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, holds the prestigious status of a World Heritage Site. Here, youll have time to enjoy lunch and perhaps wander the lively pedestrianised historic centre, abundant with restaurants and local charm. Venturing back onto the road, we cross into Portugal and stop in vora, another celebrated World Heritage Site. This charming town is known for its whitewashed streets, Renaissance palaces, and an impressive cathedral. Our journey concludes with an evening arrival in Lisbon.
Day 16 - Lisbon
This morning, we will set out to explore the captivating city of Lisbon, famously built on seven hills. Our tour will wander through streets lined with quaint alleys and decorated with iconic Portuguese tiles, all under the unique Atlantic light that gives the city its special charm. A highlight of our morning will be the visit to the Belem neighbourhood, a historic area once filled with ships embarking on great discoveries during the 15th century. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure you might choose to visit the Bairro Alto, known for its bustling atmosphere and stunning viewpoint. Alternatively, consider an optional excursion to the picturesque towns of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. In the evening, we'll return to our hotel from Restauradores Square, a lively spot brimming with bars and cafs, offering a perfect end to your day exploring the vibrant scenes of Lisbon.
Day 17 - Lisbon
Following breakfast, our tour concludes, allowing you to depart Lisbon with cherished memories to last a lifetime.
