Day 1 - Madrid
Welcome to Madrid! Upon your arrival at the airport, we will be ready to transfer you to your hotel. You'll have some time to relax until the start of the tour. Be sure to check the information signs in the hotel reception area for details about the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travellers. Later in the evening, we will organise a transfer to Plaza Mayor and La Latina, Madrid's most renowned neighbourhoods for experiencing nightlife and tapas restaurants. Here, you can savour a meal at a restaurant of your choice options include Indian, Chinese, Spanish, and Middle Eastern cuisines. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Madrid
Today, we embark on an insightful tour of central Madrid, uncovering the city's prominent sites. We will explore the grandeur of Paseo del Prado, admire the elegance of Cibeles and Neptuno squares, and enjoy the magnificent Puerta de Alcal. Discover the lively atmosphere of Plaza de Coln and the historic charm of Plaza Mayor. Our journey then leads us to the tranquil Retiro Park a delightful green haven at the heart of the city. Here, we take in the serene beauty of the lake and the striking architecture of the Palacio de Cristal.Next, we immerse ourselves in Spanish football culture with a visit to the legendary Santiago Bernabu Stadium, home to the world-renowned Real Madrid football club. After soaking up the vibrant sights and sounds of the city, you're free to spend the afternoon as you wish, exploring further or relaxing at your leisure. In the evening, we will arrange your transfer back to the hotel, allowing you to unwind after a day rich with discoveries.
Day 3 - Madrid - Zaragoza - Poblet - Barcelona
On the morning of our third day, we will set off from Madrid towards the region of Aragon, moving through the expansive landscapes of Castile. Our initial stop is Zaragoza, where we will take the opportunity to admire the magnificent Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, an iconic landmark of the city. Following our time in Zaragoza, we will continue our journey to the tranquil Poblet Abbey. This historic site, noted for its remarkable preservation, offers a glimpse into medieval monastic life your entrance tickets are already covered. Our day concludes with our arrival in the buzzing city of Barcelona by evening, ready for further explorations.
Day 4 - Barcelona
In the morning, we will set off on an engaging panoramic tour of Barcelona, celebrated as one of Europe's most captivating capitals. This dynamic city, nestled by the Mediterranean Sea, is renowned for its unique modernist architecture by Gaud, the vibrant ambience of Las Ramblas, and its rich historical tapestry, highlighted by the Universal Exposition and the Olympics hosted here. You will have free time in the afternoon to explore as you wish. In the evening, we will transfer you to Maremagnum, a modern complex by the sea near Plaza de Coln, offering a variety of entertainment and dining options. Enjoy a leisurely stroll and select from a selection of dining venues.
Day 5 - Barcelona - Peniscola - Valencia
Today, we set off southwards along the stunning Mediterranean coastline, making a stop at the enchanting medieval town of Pescola. Here, you can wander through the charming streets of this fortified city, which is surrounded by stunning beaches. Our journey continues to Valencia, where we are expected to arrive around lunchtime. In the afternoon, we will enjoy a guided tour of this vibrant port city on the Levantine coastrenowned for its blend of historical and modern architecture. With a rich history spanning over 2,000 years, Valencia's urban landscape features monuments from various eras, beautifully contrasted with the avant-garde designs of the City of Arts and Sciences. After the tour, you'll have free time to explore the city further at your own pace. We'll conclude the day with a delightful traditional local dinner, providing a perfect opportunity to indulge in the flavours of the region.
Day 6 - Valencia - Alicante - Caravaca de la Cruz - Granada
Our journey continues to the captivating city of Alicante, where well enjoy a leisurely walk along its picturesque coastline. Following lunch, we'll make our way to the Murcia region to explore Caravaca de la Cruz, a significant Holy City for the Roman Catholic Church that proudly hosts a relic of the Cross. Well take a delightful train ride to the historic area before setting off through scenic roads to Andalusia. Our day concludes in the vibrant city of Granada, where a delicious dinner awaits us.
Day 7 - Granada
Spend an entire day exploring Granada, a city steeped in history and renowned for its enchanting charm. While we do not include admission to the Alhambra with this itinerary, we highly recommend visiting this iconic landmark. You can experience its majestic presence from the nearby Mirador de San Nicols, offering stunning views of this architectural masterpiece. For those interested, the cathedral, where the Catholic Monarchs rest, provides a glimpse into Spain's storied past. Alternatively, a leisurely walk through the Albaicn neighbourhood will reward you with its narrow, winding streets and vibrant atmosphere. Day 8 - Granada - Malaga - Marbella - Ronda - Seville
After departing from Granada, we make our way to the sun-drenched Costa del Sol, beginning with a visit to Malaga. Following this, we travel along the scenic coastal highway, soaking up the beautiful Mediterranean vistas before reaching Puerto Bans in Marbella. Known for its glamorous atmosphere, this exclusive harbour exudes sophistication and style. Our afternoon adventure takes us through mountain roads steeped in tales of bandits, guiding us to Ronda. This picturesque white town is perched dramatically on a cliff, characterised by a breathtaking canyon that slices the town in two. Our day concludes as we journey onward to Seville, arriving by evening to enjoy a dinner at the hotel.
Day 9 - Seville
Today, we delve into the historic and vibrant city of Seville. Our morning begins with a guided tour, where we'll explore the city's highlights including the majestic cathedral, crowned by the renowned Giralda tower. We'll also wander along the scenic banks of the Guadalquivir River and stroll through the charming neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana, each offering a distinct glimpse into the city's diverse culture. Following the tour, we'll treat you to a relaxing boat ride on the Guadalquivir, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the cityscape. As the evening unfolds, you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the passionate and rhythmic world of flamenco at a local tablao, experiencing the soul-stirring dance up close.
Day 10 - Seville - Merida - Evora - Lisbon
We will depart from Seville, travelling through the gently rolling hills and broad pastures of Extremadura. Our first stop is Mrida, where you will have the opportunity to explore the Archaeological Ensemble of Mrida, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its remarkably preserved Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre. Following this, you'll have time to enjoy lunch and wander through the lively pedestrianised historic centre, which is brimming with delightful restaurants and local character. Our journey then takes us across the border into Portugal, where we will visit vora, another World Heritage Site. Known for its charming whitewashed streets, grand Renaissance palaces, and magnificent cathedral, vora is sure to enchant. We'll continue on to Lisbon, arriving in the evening.
Day 11 - Lisbon
In the morning, we'll set off on a sightseeing tour of Lisbon, a city famously built upon seven hills, where you'll be charmed by its narrow streets, iconic ceramic tiles, and the unique "saudade" atmosphere, all basked in beautiful Atlantic light. We'll explore the Belem neighbourhood, a place steeped in history as it was once the departure point for the great Portuguese navigators of the 15th century. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore the city further. You might choose to wander the vibrant Bairro Alto and take in the cityscape from its viewpoints or opt for an excursion to Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. In the evening, we'll bring you back from Restauradores Square, a lively hub filled with bars and cafes perfect for a relaxed evening.
Day 12 - Lisbon
After breakfast in Lisbon, our journey draws to a close, leaving you with a collection of cherished memories to take home.
