Day 1 - Madrid
Welcome to Madrid! Upon your arrival at the airport, we'll arrange a transfer to your hotel. You have some free time before your adventure officially begins. Please refer to the information signs in the hotel reception area for details on the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travellers. In the evening, we'll take you to Plaza Mayor and La Latina, two of Madrid's most vibrant areas renowned for their nightlife and tapas bars. Here, you can indulge in a dinner of your choice, with culinary options ranging from Indian and Chinese to traditional Spanish and Middle Eastern cuisine. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Madrid
Today, our exploration of Madrid begins with a thorough tour of the city's heart, where you'll encounter notable sights such as the Paseo del Prado, the iconic Cibeles and Neptuno squares, and the distinguished gateways of Puerta de Alcal. The tour continues through Plaza de Coln before reaching the celebrated Plaza Mayor. In the serene setting of Retiro Park, we'll wander by its lake and marvel at the stunning Palacio de Cristal. Entrance to the renowned Santiago Bernabu Stadium, the home ground of the illustrious Real Madrid football club, is included. The afternoon is at your leisure to explore Madrid further or relax at your own pace. We'll ensure a smooth return to the hotel in the evening, rounding off a fulfilling day in this vibrant city.
Day 3 - Madrid - Granada
We will depart early in the morning from Madrid, heading south through the region of La Mancha. Our first stop will be in Puerto Lpice, a picturesque village that brings to life the world of Don Quixote. Continuing our journey into the heart of Andalusia, we travel via Despeaperros and arrive in Granada, just in time for an included lunch. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace. We suggest visiting the awe-inspiring Cathedral of Granada, which is the final resting place of the Catholic Monarchs. Alternatively, you might enjoy meandering through the historic Albaicn district, where you can savour breathtaking views of the Alhambra from the Mirador de San Nicols. Please note that admission to the Alhambra is not included in your tour package. If you wish to visit, we recommend securing tickets directly through their official website or through local tour operators.
Day 4 - Granada - Malaga - Marbella - Ronda - Seville
Today, we set off from Granada towards the alluring Costa del Sol. Our first destination is Malaga, where you'll have the opportunity to wander the historic district, admired for its grand cathedral and the esteemed Picasso Museum. Once we've explored Malaga, we'll continue our journey along the coastal highway, taking in the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Our next stop is Puerto Bans in Marbella, a glamorous marina that epitomises luxury and style.In the afternoon, we'll adventure into the mountains, regaled with tales of notorious bandits before arriving in Ronda. This charming whitewashed town is perched dramatically on a cliff, divided by a deep canyon, offering stunning panoramas. Finally, we will continue to Seville, where we will enjoy a delightful dinner at our hotel upon arrival in the evening.
Day 5 - Seville
Today begins with an invigorating city tour of Seville, where we'll explore the majestic cathedral crowned by the iconic Giralda, as well as the scenic banks of the Guadalquivir River. We'll wander through Sevilles charismatic districts of Santa Cruz and Triana, each offering their unique charm. Following this, relax and soak up the views during a leisurely boat ride on the Guadalquivir River, which is included in your itinerary. This evening, you have the option to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Seville by attending an exhilarating flamenco tablao performance. Enjoy the rest of your day exploring the city as you please.
Day 6 - Seville - Merida - Evora - Lisbon
We will depart from Seville, travelling through the gently rolling hills and pastures of Extremadura. Our first stop is Mrida, where we include a visit to the Archaeological Ensemble. Marvel at the well-preserved Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, a recognised World Heritage Site. After exploring, enjoy some leisure time for lunch and a wander through the lively pedestrianised historic centre, teeming with restaurants and local character. Our journey then continues into Portugal, with a stop in vora. This World Heritage Site is famed for its whitewashed streets, Renaissance palaces, and impressive cathedral. We conclude the day with our arrival in Lisbon in the evening.
Day 7 - Lisbon
In the morning, we will embark on a tour of Lisbon, a city renowned for its seven hills, quaint alleyways, iconic tiles, and the distinctive "saudade" atmosphere complemented by its brilliant Atlantic light. Our exploration includes a visit to the historic Belem neighbourhood, famed for being the launch point of the great Portuguese voyages in the 15th century. The afternoon is yours to explore as you wish. You might choose to wander through the Bairro Alto and take in the views from its scenic lookout, or perhaps opt for a visit to the charming towns of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. In the evening, we will return to our hotel from Restauradores Square, a lively area brimming with vibrant bars and cafes.
Day 8 - Lisbon - Caceres - Madrid
We will leave Portugal early, travelling through the scenic Alentejo region. En route, we'll pause for a coffee break in Estremoz, a delightful town celebrated for its medieval castle and charming cobblestone streets, offering a taste of genuine Portuguese ambience. Continuing our journey, we cross the border into Spain. Our next stop is Cceres, where you'll have the opportunity to savour lunch and wander its remarkably preserved historic centre, a testament to medieval and Renaissance architecture. We then proceed to Madrid, arriving in the evening, marking the end of today's travels.
Day 9 - Madrid
Following breakfast, our journey draws to a close, leaving you with cherished memories of our adventure together.
