Day 1 - Madrid
Welcome to Madrid! Upon your arrival at the airport, we'll arrange your transfer to the hotel. You will have some leisure time before the tour starts. Please check the hotel reception area for information on the welcome meeting, where you'll meet your guide and fellow travellers. In the evening, we will transport you to Plaza Mayor and La Latina, renowned as Madrids lively hub for nightlife and tapas dining. You are free to choose where you would like to dine, with various options available such as Indian, Chinese, Spanish, and Middle Eastern cuisines. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Madrid
Our day begins with an enlightening tour of central Madrid, where we'll explore iconic landmarks like Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcal, Plaza de Coln, and Plaza Mayor. Next, we head to Retiro Park, a charming haven in the city's heart. Here, we'll have the opportunity to admire the lake and the stunning Palacio de Cristal. A highlight of the day includes admission to the Santiago Bernabu Stadium. This renowned venue is home to Real Madrid, a football club esteemed worldwide. The afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wishwhether delving deeper into the city's culture or simply relaxing with a coffee. As the day winds down, we'll arrange a comfortable return transfer to your hotel in the evening.
Day 3 - Madrid - Merida - Evora - Lisbon
Today, we depart from Madrid on our journey towards Mrida, the capital of Extremadura. Here, we'll explore the remarkable Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, an archaeological complex boasting an excellent state of preservation and designated as a World Heritage Site. Afterwards, you'll have time to wander through the vibrant historic centre, filled with pedestrian streets and tempting restaurants where you can enjoy lunch. Our travels then take us across the border into Portugal, where we stop in vora, another UNESCO World Heritage city. Explore the charming streets lined with whitewashed buildings, exquisite Renaissance palaces, and a distinctive cathedral before we continue on, arriving in Lisbon in the evening.
Day 4 - Lisbon
Today, we set off on a sightseeing tour of Lisbon, a city renowned for its enchanting alleys, iconic tiles, and distinct "saudade" charm, all beautifully illuminated by the Atlantic light. In the morning, we'll explore the city and visit the historic Belem neighbourhood, an area steeped in history as the departure point for the great Portuguese explorers of the 15th century. In the afternoon, enjoy your free time to wander through the lively Bairro Alto, known for its vibrant viewpoint. You might also choose to embark on an optional excursion to the picturesque towns of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. As evening descends, well regroup and head to the hotel from Restauradores Square, a bustling area brimming with lively bars and cafes.
Day 5 - Lisbon
On the final day of our adventure, we conclude in Lisbon. After enjoying breakfast, our journey draws to a close, leaving you with treasured memories of your experiences. As you reflect on the beauty, culture, and history that have defined this trip, we trust these moments will inspire lasting impressions and perhaps even future travels.
