Day 1 - Madrid - Ciudad Rodrigo - Porto
On the first day of our journey, we set off early from Madrid towards Portugal. Our adventure begins with a scenic drive through the Castile region, where we will pause at the Mirador de los Cuatro Postes. Here, we can enjoy a stunning view of vila's impressive ancient walls. As we near the Portuguese border, we will stop in Ciudad Rodrigo. This charming town invites us to wander through its medieval streets, offering a glimpse of its cathedral and well-preserved city walls. Our journey then leads us to Porto, where we will embark on a leisurely 50-minute cruise along the Douro River in a traditional Rabelo boat. This offers a unique perspective of Porto's picturesque riverside. Afterwards, you will have time to explore the vibrant Ribeira district. Known for its narrow lanes, historic merchant houses, and inviting cafs, Ribeira provides the perfect setting for a leisurely stroll before we head to our hotel for the evening. Please be aware that if the number of travellers from Madrid to Porto is minimal, this part of the journey may be by flight, resulting in the cancellation of the Ciudad Rodrigo stop. Additionally, travellers may join or leave our group at various points, though the group size will always remain within a comfortable limit.
