Day 1 - Barcelona
Welcome to your tour! Upon arrival in vibrant Barcelona, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, where you can enjoy some leisure time to settle in and begin exploring the surroundings at your own pace. In the afternoon, visit the hotel reception to find details about the commencement of your tour, displayed on information boards. Please be aware that as we journey together, some travellers may join or depart at various points along the route, so the composition of our group may change from time to time. However, rest assured, our group size will always remain within a comfortable limit. Day 2 - Barcelona
On day two, we'll set off on a panoramic exploration of Barcelona, a city famed for its captivating blend of history, culture, and stunning modernist architecture by the legendary Antoni Gaud. Situated on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona boasts attractions such as the vibrant Las Ramblas and landmarks associated with events like the Universal Exposition and the Olympics. In the afternoon, you're free to continue discovering the city at your own pace, perhaps visiting museums or enjoying the local cuisine. In the evening, we'll take you to Maremagnum, an entertainment and dining hub by the sea near Plaza de Coln. Here, you can leisurely wander through the lively ambience and select from a variety of dining options to round off your day.
Day 3 - Barcelona - Peniscola - Valencia - Madrid
On the third day of our exciting journey, we head southwards along the scenic Mediterranean coast, with our first stop in the enchanting seaside town of Pescola. This charming town is known for its historic fortress that seems to rise right from the sea, providing a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll amidst picturesque views. After soaking up the unique atmosphere of Pescola, we continue to the vibrant port city of Valencia, arriving around midday. You're free to wander and perhaps savour a traditional paella at lunchtimewhy not try this quintessential Valencian dish? Later in the afternoon, at about half-past four, we resume our journey towards Madrid. En route, we pause for a quick visit at the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, a remarkable architectural complex that embodies Valencia's forward-thinking spirit. We arrive in Madrid between 8:30 and 9:00 in the evening, where we welcome you to the capital with a transfer to Plaza Mayor. This bustling square offers numerous eateries for you to indulge in local delicacies like pinchos, or perhaps a glass of fine Spanish wine. Please note, depending on group size, the journey from Valencia to Madrid might be by high-speed train.
Day 4 - Madrid
We begin our day in Madrid with a thorough exploration of the city's vibrant heart. We'll take in iconic sights including the elegant Paseo del Prado, the majestic Cibeles and Neptuno fountains, the grand Puerta de Alcal, and the bustling Plaza de Coln and Plaza Mayor. Following this, we'll enjoy a leisurely visit to Retiro Park, a serene oasis in the city's centre, where we'll admire its scenic lake and the intricate beauty of the Palacio de Cristal. Admission is included for a tour of the renowned Santiago Bernabu Stadium, the proud home of Real Madrid, often hailed as the world's premier football club. The afternoon is yours to explore or relax at your leisure. In the evening, a transfer will return you to your hotel.
Day 5 - Madrid - Granada
We will depart early from Madrid, travelling south through the heart of La Mancha. Our first stop is Puerto Lpice, a quaint Manchego village reminiscent of Don Quixote's adventures. Continuing through the dramatic scenery of Despeaperros, we arrive in the enchanting city of Granada, where lunch is included. For those who have opted for the Alhambra tour, the afternoon will be spent exploring the splendid Alhambra Palace and the serene Generalife Gardens, both showcasing the exquisite architecture from the Arab period. An official guide will enhance the experience. Please be advised that the number of visitors to the Alhambra is strictly controlled and requires precise personal details, such as full name and passport or ID number, during booking. These tickets are non-refundable, so please ensure all details are accurate. Should the Alhambra tour be unavailable, an alternative visit to the Royal Alczar of Seville will be arranged, offering similarly rich historical insights.
Day 6 - Granada - Tangier - Asilah - Rabat
On day six, we depart from the enchanting city of Granada, making our way along the famous Costa del Sol. Upon reaching Algeciras or Tarifa, we will board a modern ferry to cross the Strait of Gibraltar ferry tickets are included in your tour package. Please note, passengers need to handle their own luggage, as the bus does not accompany us on the crossing. Once we reach the shores of Morocco, we journey through awe-inspiring landscapes before arriving at our first stop, Asilah. This charming walled city is nestled on the Atlantic coast and has a rich history as both a significant port and a pirate stronghold. Today, it thrives with vibrant local life. We will have some time to enjoy lunch here before continuing our adventure to Rabat, where a delightful dinner awaits us upon arrival.
Day 7 - Rabat - Casablanca - Marrakech
Today, we'll begin our exploration of Rabat, Morocco's elegant capital. Our panoramic tour will include visits to the impressive Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the historic Kasbah of the Udayas. As the day unfolds, we'll make our way to Casablanca. Here, a local guide will introduce us to some of the city's highlights, including a visit to the exterior of the exquisite Hassan II Mosque, a masterpiece of modern Islamic architecture. Our adventure continues as we travel towards Marrakech. On arrival, youll have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Kalesa ride, which will take you to the vibrant Jemaa el-Fnaa square, a focal point of the city's life. Dinner is included to round off this day full of rich cultural experiences.
Day 8 - Marrakech
Today, we delve into the enchanting city of Marrakech, a place steeped in history and vibrant culture. Our tour begins by exploring Marrakesh's impressive city walls and the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square, a bustling hub that captures the city's essence. We continue our journey through the narrow alleys of the Medina, visit the majestic Koutoubia Mosque, and discover the opulent Bahia Palace, where entrance tickets are included. After this immersive experience, you will have a leisurely lunch, also included, followed by the option to unwind by the pool, relax in the hotel's serene gardens, or venture into the maze-like souks for some shopping. In the evening, an optional excursion to the traditional Fantasy Party is available, offering a unique insight into local culture.
Day 9 - Marrakech - Ait Benhadou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades
Today, we begin our journey by crossing the majestic Atlas Mountains, where the lofty, often snow-capped peaks watch over us as we leave behind the lush palm groves of Marrakech. Along the way, you will observe Berber villages precariously perched at the edges of deep gorges. Our route includes a stop at the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, famous for its appearances in various films. Continuing our journey through landscapes reminiscent of scenes from historical epics, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, renowned for its impressive Kasbah. As our journey takes us through the Valley of Roses, we will conclude our day in Boumalne Dades, where dinner is included. Please note that during winter, road closures due to snow may occur, leading to adjustments in our itinerary. Access to the Sahara Desert is subject to current road conditions.
Day 10 - Boumalne Dades - Todgha - Erfoud
Today, we'll embark on an unforgettable adventure through the magnificent Sahara Desert. Our route meanders through the Valley of the Kasbahs, where we'll pass by stunning river valleys bordered by endless palm trees and rocky plains that give way to lush oases and traditional adobe villages. As we delve deeper into the desert, we'll encounter impressive fortresses that once safeguarded ancient trade routes.We'll pause to witness the awe-inspiring Todgha Gorge, a majestic canyon with towering cliffs over 100 metres high on either side. En route, a visit to a small adobe town near Khorbat offers a glimpse into the desert lifestyle and community initiatives supported by the foundation (please note, access may be subject to weather conditions such as river flooding).Our journey continues to Erfoud, where you can choose to partake in an optional off-road excursion to the iconic Sahara Desert sand dunes, where a magical sunset awaits. Lunch will be included in our itinerary.
Day 11 - Erfoud - Fez
We will set off from Erfoud early, making our way through the stunning landscapes of the Atlas Mountains, known for their dramatic gorges. Our journey takes us across a high-altitude plateau, home to nomadic shepherds. We'll pause briefly in Midelt, a town that thrives on agriculture, before continuing to our next destination. Lunch will be provided amidst the scenic beauty of the Middle Atlas, surrounded by its picturesque lake settings. As we continue, you'll notice a shift in scenery as we enter a forested region where snow is often seen in winter. Near Azrou, we'll visit the "House of Cedars" in a national parka small museum offering insights into the region's natural and cultural heritage. Here, you'll have the chance to see lively groups of monkeys in their natural habitat. Our route then leads us to Bhalil, a tranquil Berber town, distinguished by its charming old quarter with vibrant, colourful streets. Historically, the inhabitants lived in caves that are now part of the houses. We'll conclude the day's travels by reaching Fez, where we'll take in panoramic views of the ancient city from the Marinid Tombs before proceeding to our hotel. Dinner will be included.
Day 12 - Fez - Tangier
Today, we'll explore the treasures of Fez, Morocco's cultural heart. Our visit begins at the magnificent Bronze Gates of the Royal Palace, continuing through the historic Jewish quarter. We'll wander through the bustling souks and the renowned Tanners' Quarter, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the city's remarkable Medina, which stands as a guardian of traditional Arab culture. Our tour concludes with a delightful lunch in a historic palace within the Medina. In the afternoon, we journey northwards via a modern highway, arriving in Tangier by evening, where dinner awaits.
Day 13 - Tangier - Seville
Today, you have some leisure time in the vibrant city of Tangier. Why not indulge in some last-minute shopping to pick up unique souvenirs and mementoes? Later, we'll embark on a ferry journey back to Spain. Please be aware that the bus will not accompany us on the ferry, so you'll need to manage your own luggage. Once we disembark in either Algeciras or Tarifa, we'll continue our journey to Seville, arriving in the evening. You'll be treated to an included dinner, offering a taste of the local culinary delights.
Day 14 - Seville - Zaragoza
In the morning, we'll embark on a panoramic tour of Seville, where you'll visit the stunning cathedral and its iconic Giralda tower. Our exploration includes the bustling banks of the Guadalquivir River and the charming neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana. After the tour, we'll enjoy a boat ride along the Guadalquivir, offering a unique perspective of the city's landmarks. In the afternoon, we'll transfer you to the train station for a high-speed journey to Zaragoza, departing around 4:30 p.m. This efficient service covers the 850 km distance in under four hours. Upon your arrival in Zaragoza, we'll provide a transfer to your hotel. Please note that the train journey will be unaccompanied by a tour guide.
Day 15 - Zaragoza - Poblet - Barcelona
In the morning, we begin our exploration of Zaragoza with a panoramic tour guided by a local expert. Our journey starts at the magnificent Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, a significant landmark in the city. As we delve into the cultural heritage of Zaragoza, we'll encounter some of Goya's celebrated masterpieces. The tour also includes visits to the historic Roman theatre and an impressive Renaissance palace, followed by a leisurely walk by the Aljafera Palace. After enjoying lunch, we set off towards Catalonia, where we'll visit the enchanting Poblet Abbey. Nestled in picturesque surroundings, this walled monastery is one of the worlds best-preserved medieval sites, and our visit includes entry tickets. We continue onwards to Barcelona, reaching the city in the evening, where you'll have the opportunity to unwind and reflect on the day's discoveries.
Day 16 - Barcelona
Following breakfast, our adventure concludes, but you'll carry with you unforgettable memories of your travels.
