Day 1 - Medina
Upon arrival in the sacred city of Medina, you'll transfer to your hotel. Medina holds deep historical and spiritual significance as one of the two primary holy cities in Islam. Until recently, it was inaccessible to non-Muslims. As you explore, remember to dress respectfully and honour the local customs and beliefs. After lunch, we'll explore the majestic Prophets Mosque (Al Masjid an Nabawi), distinguished by its ten luminous minarets and the capacity to host up to a million visitors. This revered site, built by Prophet Muhammad, is also his final resting place. Our journey continues to Mount Uhud, known for its pivotal historical battle between the forces of the Prophet and those of Mecca. It's a place of pilgrimage please explore quietly and respect the many visitors. We then visit the Quba Mosque, where in 622, the Prophet and his followers established what is now considered the first mosque in history, though the present structure is more modern. A short walk brings us to the garden and well of Ethiq, significant for welcoming the Prophet and his followers who fled persecution in Mecca. You'll have free time afterwards to explore the city centre at your leisure, perhaps for some shopping or a visit to the Hejaz Railway Museum, located in a historic Ottoman train station. Later in the day, we visit the Al Madinah Museum to delve into the city's past. As dusk falls, we'll make our way back to the Al Masjid Mosque to witness the evening prayers and observe the magnificent illuminations. Dinner is included. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Medina - Al-Ula
Following breakfast, we continue our journey through the captivating desert landscapes, heading towards Khaybar. This historically significant region was a Jewish settlement in the 7th century, known for the Battle of Khaibar in 628 AD, where Muslim forces under Prophet Muhammad triumphed over Jewish tribes. We will explore the historic fortress and stroll through the picturesque oasis, surrounded by the stunning volcanic backdrop. Our adventure leads us to the awe-inspiring Al-Ula region, often described as an open-air museum nestled within nature. With its striking rock formations, canyons, and ravines, Al-Ula offers a glimpse into a bygone era, showcasing the extraordinary carvings left by its ancient inhabitants. Upon arrival, we visit the iconic Elephant Rock, a remarkable 52-metre-high rock formation naturally sculpted to resemble an elephant. An included dinner rounds off our day.
Day 3 - Al-Ula - Tabuk
Our exploration of Al-Ula begins with a visit to the remarkable site of HEGRA (Madain Saleh). Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this location introduces us to the fascinating Nabataean culture, often referred to as "the Other Petra". The ancient tombs carved into the rock offer a glimpse into a desert landscape steeped in history and mystery. Lunch is included with today's itinerary. You'll have free time to wander Al-Ula's vibrant commercial streets and explore its lush oasis at your own pace. Later in the day, we will make our way to Tabuk, where dinner awaits, bringing our day of discovery to a satisfying close.
Day 4 - Tabuk - Riyadh
We begin our day in Tabuk with an early morning transfer to the airport for a flight to Riyadh, which takes just over an hour and a half. On arrival in Riyadh, well embark on a city tour starting at the National Museum, surrounded by a picturesque park. As the largest museum in Saudi Arabia, it offers insight into the history, culture, and art of the Kingdom. Our next stop is the Masmak Fortress, an ancient stronghold that reveals the city's incredible transformation over the past century. Following this, you'll have free time to explore the neighbourhood, dive into the vibrant life of its souks, and enjoy lunch at a shopping centre, where a variety of cuisines awaits you.In the evening, well visit the impressive Al Rajhi Mosque. Known for its Andalusian-style architecture, its the largest mosque in Riyadh. Here, well witness a prayer and gain an introduction to Islam, offering deeper understanding of the faith. Concluding our day, we will explore Riyadh City Boulevard. The area is bustling with energy, featuring numerous attractions, a wide array of international restaurants, live performances, and mesmerising colourful fountains. You'll have free time here for dinner and a leisurely walk to soak in the vibrant atmosphere before we return to the hotel.
Day 5 - Riyadh - Al-Hofuf
We start our day on the outskirts of Riyadh with a visit to Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic district was the birthplace of the first Saudi capital, and its elegant remnants, including numerous palaces, offer a glimpse into a rich past nestled alongside a lush oasis. Our journey then continues along excellent highways towards the Al-Ahsa Oasis, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This verdant oasis, inhabited since the Neolithic era, boasts an impressive 3 million date palms, making it the largest in the world. Upon arriving in Al Hofuf, the main city of the oasis, we will explore the charming Al Qaisariya souq, one of Arabia's oldest markets, reflecting the region's deep-rooted commercial traditions. In the evening, we enjoy a leisurely walk through King Abdullah Park, a delightful setting featuring an artificial lake and dancing fountains synchronised to music. Dinner is included.
Day 6 - Al-Hofuf - Dammam
Following breakfast, we will delve into the historic city of Al-Hofuf. Our first stop is the Ibrahim Palace, a remarkable fortress and World Heritage Site, easily recognisable by its white mosque built by the Ottomans in 1556. Next, we'll visit the "House of Allegiance," showcasing a quintessential small palace typical of an oasis. We then move to a bustling area where you'll find the Mehaires Palace alongside numerous dining and shopping options, frequented by the locals for its vibrant atmosphere.Continuing our exploration, we journey through the oasis towards Al Qara. This historical site offers breathtaking natural scenery with its labyrinth of mini-gorges and mountain cavesthe entire area is naturally temperature regulated, maintaining around 25 degrees Celsius year-round. At Al Qara, you can also step into the "Land of Civilizations" museum, which provides insights into the area's rich history.In the afternoon, we head towards the Persian Gulf to explore the modern city of Dammam, the capital of this province with nearly a million residents. Before reaching Dammam, we'll pause at the innovative Ithra site to marvel at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture. This architecturally striking, rock-shaped centre boasts a variety of leisure areas, museums, and a library.Upon entering Dammam, a brief stop allows us to admire the Khobar water tower along the seafront promenade. We'll proceed to the Heritage Village, a fort-like structure by the sea, offering a glimpse into Saudi civilisation. Here, explore its compact museum housing antique objects, including an interesting collection of historic vehicles. Dinner is included, rounding off our eventful day. Please note that during the itinerary's creation, Ibrahim Palace was undergoing restoration, and until its reopening, it will be viewed from the outside.
Day 7 - Dammam - Bahrain
Following breakfast, we will journey across the 25-kilometre Friendship Bridge, linking Saudi Arabia with Bahrain. Upon arrival, you'll navigate border formalities before we make our way to Manama, the capital of this small yet historically significant nation. Our exploration begins in the historic district of Muharraq, where you'll wander pedestrian alleyways lined with beautifully preserved heritage buildings, including royal homes and the grand residences of affluent pearl merchants.Our journey continues along the scenic corniche, after which we visit Beit Al Quran, housing an extensive collection dedicated to the Quran. We also tour the Bahrain National Museum, offering insights into the nations vibrant art, ethnography, and historical importance. Lunch can be enjoyed at a mall's food court, offering a variety of cuisines to suit your tastes.In the afternoon, our visit takes us to the impressive Al-Fateh Mosque, the country's main mosque. Next, we travel to Qalat Al Bahrain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This magnificent coastal fortress, inhabited for over 4,000 years, was reconstructed by the Portuguese. We then delve into Bahrain's oil-rich heritage with a visit to the nation's inaugural oil well, followed by a stop at the enchanting "Tree of Life," a 500-year-old wonder in the midst of the desert.The day concludes with a leisurely stroll through the bustling Manama souq, where the vibrant multicultural atmosphere is palpable in Little India. Here, you'll find traditional Indian restaurants and the revered Krishna temple. Enjoy free time to explore this dynamic neighbourhood at your own pace. Note that the sequence of visits may vary.
Day 8 - Bahrain - Doha
You have the morning free to explore Bahrain at your own pace. You might wander through the charming historic centre or choose to visit one of its intriguing museums. In the afternoon, we will transfer you to the airport for your included flight to Doha. Upon arriving in Qatars vibrant capital, a transfer will be arranged to take you to your hotel. Afterwards, you have free time to begin exploring or simply relax and enjoy your new surroundings.
Day 9 - Doha
In Doha, we embark on a captivating exploration of this dynamic city. Our tour begins at the Corniche, where youll admire the impressive skyline with its modern skyscrapers juxtaposed against serene beaches. We then visit the ultra-modern Al Thumama Stadium, which hosted the 2022 World Cup, illustrating the city's commitment to sports and innovation.Our journey continues to the National Museum, renowned for its breathtaking architecture. Here, we include entry to the Museum of Islamic Art, which houses an unparalleled collection of Islamic art, offering insights into the regions rich cultural heritage.Fusion of tradition and modernity is next as we explore the Souq Waqif, built to resemble a 19th-century market. Here, the Falcon Souq provides a fascinating glimpse into the significant role falconry plays in Qatari culture. Nearby, we'll see traditional stables housing Arabian horses, echoing the countrys equestrian heritage. Lunchtime takes us to "The Pearl of Qatar," a stunning artificial island designed for luxury living, where you can wander the Porto Arabia and enjoy free time in Qanat a shopping area reminiscent of Venice. Lunch is part of our day.Our tour concludes in Katara, a cultural village that celebrates global architecture, offering numerous dining options, an opera house, and an amphitheatre. Its a place where the world's cultures beautifully converge.
Day 10 - Doha - Dubai
Today, we transfer to the airport for a flight to Dubai your ticket is included. On arrival at Dubai's airport, we'll transfer you to your hotel where you can unwind in your own time. In the evening, we'll embark on a transfer to explore the dazzling city of Dubai under the night sky. Witness the mesmerising Dubai Fountain show, where the water dances to music and light. Situated near the foot of the Burj Khalifa, this tower stands at 828 metres, making it the tallest in the world. You'll have some time to explore and dine (dinner is at your discretion) in the expansive Dubai Mall. After a captivating evening, we'll return to the hotel. Please note, your flight from Doha may land at Dubai or a nearby airport such as Sharjah or Abu Dhabi.
Day 11 - Dubai
Today, we embark on a remarkable exploration of Dubai. Our day begins with a visit to the iconic Dubai Frame, offering panoramic views as it stands impressively as the largest photo frame in the world. We then delve into the historic charm of the old city, taking a stroll through the bustling Bur Dubai Souq and Spice Souq. Experience the traditional Emirati way as we board an Abra, a traditional boat, to reach the Al Fahidi historical neighbourhood. Here, you'll visit the Centre for Cultural Understanding where we embrace the motto "Open Minds, Open Doors". If our group consists of more than 15 travellers, we'll enjoy an insightful presentation about Emirati cuisine alongside a traditional meal.In the afternoon, our tour continues with a drive past the magnificent Jumeirah Mosque. We'll then cruise by the iconic Burj Al Arab, the luxury sail-shaped hotel, and venture to Palm Jumeirah, the renowned palm-shaped island. Enjoy a ride on the advanced monorail, followed by a leisurely walk through the vibrant Marina area. We round off our day with some free time at JBR Beach, a hotspot known for its lively atmosphere and stunning coastline.
Day 12 - Dubai - Abu Dhabi
After breakfast, we set off for Abu Dhabi, the most significant of the Emirates and the capital of the country. En route, we'll pause to admire the outdoor spaces of Ferrari World, a theme park celebrating the iconic Ferrari racing cars. Our journey continues with a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Mosquea magnificent white mosque and the largest in the Emirates, covering over 12 hectares. This architectural marvel symbolises a meeting point for diverse cultures and religions. We'll then drive by the Capital Gate, a 160-metre high structure renowned for being the world's most inclined skyscraper. The picturesque Corniche provides us with a stunning panoramic vista of the city by the sea. Our next stop is the Heritage Village, where we gain insight into traditional Emirati lifeit's a perfect place to explore handicraft shops, small museums, and to savour the history of the Emirates. Lunch in the city centre is included.In the afternoon, we visit Qasr Al Watan, the presidential palace of the Emirates. This splendid structure, built from white granite and richly adorned, features an impressive 37-metre dome and a chandelier made up of 350,000 glass pieces. Next, we head to the cultural district, home to several noteworthy museums, including the renowned Louvre, acclaimed for its extraordinary architecture and esteemed collection. You'll have the chance to explore one of the museums or enjoy some leisure time in the district. A stop at the Abrahamic Family House offers a unique experience, housing a church, mosque, and synagogue within the same complex. As evening approaches, we visit The Founders Memorial, dedicated to Zayed, the inaugural sultan of the Emirates, where The Constellation impresses with its dazzling night-time display.
