Welcome to the Azores
Once you arrive at Ponta Delgada Airport, a transfer will take you to your hotel, where you will stay for the next four nights.
After checking in, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. You might choose to take a gentle stroll through the city, relax by the harbor, or dine in one of the local restaurants to sample the island’s fresh regional flavors.

The Wonders of Furnas
Ponta Delgada - Vila Franca do Campo - Furnas - Ribeira Grande - Ponte Delgada. This morning, you will travel to Vila Franca do Campo, the first capital of Sao Miguel, set along the island’s south coast.
Here, you can sample a local sweet known as Queijada da Vila, a traditional recipe that has been enjoyed for generations. Continuing to the Furnas Valley, near the beautiful Furnas Lagoon, you will witness fascinating volcanic activity with steaming fumaroles and discover how the island’s famous Cozido das Furnas is slow cooked using the natural heat of the earth.
Before lunch, there is the option to visit the tranquil Terra Nostra Garden, where you may wish to take a relaxing dip in the warm thermal waters. The journey then continues towards the mountains, stopping at Pico de Ferro for a wonderful view across the Furnas Valley.
In the afternoon, head to the north coast to visit the Gorreana tea plantation and factory in Ribeira Grande, where you can taste both black and green tea produced from the island’s fertile soil. The final stop of the day is the Santa Iria viewpoint, offering sweeping views over the rugged northern coastline before returning to Ponta Delgada.

Lakes & Landscapes of Sao Miguel
Ponte Delgada - Sete Cidades - Ribeira Grande - Ponte Delgada. The day begins with a visit to a traditional pineapple plantation, where the fruit is grown organically in greenhouses.
Here, you can sample the island’s famous pineapple liqueur before continuing along the west coast to enjoy the view from the Pico de Carvao viewpoint. Surrounded by lush greenery, you will reach Vista do Rei, overlooking the Sete Cidades volcanic crater and its twin lakes, one blue and one green.
Once inside the crater, stop at the beautiful Lago de Santiago before heading to the village of Sete Cidades for lunch in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will travel along the coast to Capelas, a former whaling village, where you will pause at the Pedras Negras viewpoint for striking views of the north coast. Continue on to Ribeira Grande to explore its historic center, then visit Caldeira Velha, a nature reserve where you can swim in the warm waters of a natural waterfall.
The final stop of the day is the stunning Lagoa do Fogo, where you will have time to admire the panoramic views. On the return journey to Ponta Delgada, the road descends by Pico da Barrosa, offering another wonderful perspective over the island’s narrowest stretch.

Explore by Sea or by Land
Ponte Delgada - Povocado - Ponte Delgada. After breakfast, you can choose which activity you prefer for the day.
If you decide on a whale watching excursion, you will set off on a three hour boat trip to discover some of the twenty eight species of cetaceans that inhabit the waters of the Azores. As you cruise through the Atlantic, keep an eye out for whales and dolphins, as well as turtles, seabirds and other fascinating marine life.
Alternatively, you may wish to take the Salto do Prego and Sanguinho hiking trail. Beginning in the parish of Faial da Terra, this scenic walk follows a gentle stream through orchards and forest paths, crossing wooden bridges and cobbled tracks before reaching the enchanting Salto do Prego waterfall.
Here, you can pause for a picnic and a refreshing swim before making your way back through the old village of Sanguinho, now slowly being restored. Later, stop at the Pico dos Bodes viewpoint and, if you wish, enjoy some free time for a swim in Povoacao or Ribeira Quente, a relaxing dip in the Furnas thermal springs, or a quiet stroll at your own pace.

Flight to Horta, Faial Island
Ponte Delgada - Falal Island. This morning, you will discover another island in the Azores archipelago, the beautiful island of Faial. After checking out of your hotel in Ponta Delgada, a transfer will take you to the airport for your flight to Faial.
When you arrive at Horta Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel, where you will stay for the next three nights. After checking in, the rest of the day is yours to begin exploring the island at your own pace.

Discovering Faial Island
Today, you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the starting point of your tour to explore the island of Faial. This full day excursion takes you beyond the beaches to discover the island’s fascinating history, dramatic landscapes, and vibrant culture.
You will visit some of Faial’s most iconic landmarks, including the striking Capelinhos Volcano and the Caldeira do Faial Nature Reserve. Along the way, there will be opportunities to enjoy a swim, take a leisurely walk, and stop for lunch in a local restaurant.

Exploring Terceira Island
Terceira Island - Praia da Vitoria - Terceira Island. This morning, you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the meeting point to begin your full-day tour of Terceira Island. The day starts with a visit to Monte Brasil, where you can enjoy stunning views over the bay of Angra do Heroismo. You will then continue to the Miradouro dos Ilheus das Cabras, an ideal spot to take photographs and admire the ocean.
Your journey continues to Porto Judeu, a charming coastal parish known for its typical houses, with a brief stop at the peaceful Baia da Salga along the way. You will also have the chance to swim in the clear waters of the Porto Martins Natural Pools before heading up to Serra do Cume for breathtaking views of the island’s green patchwork fields.
You will have time for lunch in Praia da Vitoria, where you can choose from a range of local restaurants serving traditional dishes. In the afternoon, visit the Biscoitos Natural Pools, a series of volcanic rock pools where the sea flows in naturally, followed by a tasting of handmade cheeses at Queijo Vaquinha.
