Day 1 - Lisbon
Upon arrival in Lisbon, we'll arrange your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some time to unwind and explore at your leisure. Later in the afternoon, you can find essential details about the start of your tour displayed on the boards in the hotel's reception area. Enjoy the evening discovering Lisbon's unique charm at your own pace. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Lisbon
In the morning, we embark on a captivating sightseeing tour of Lisbon, the enchanting Portuguese capital renowned for its seven hills. As we wander through the city, you'll experience its charming alleys, distinctive tiles, and the unique feel of "saudade" amidst the striking Atlantic light. We'll explore the Belem neighbourhood, a historic area from which legendary Portuguese navigators once set sail across the oceans in the 15th century. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your leisure. You might wish to stroll through Bairro Alto and visit its viewpoint, or perhaps consider an optional excursion to the picturesque towns of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. In the evening, we'll make our way back to the hotel from the vibrant Restauradores Square, a lively spot brimming with bars and cafes.
Day 3 - Lisbon - Caceres - Madrid
On the third day of our tour, we'll embark on an early departure from Portugal as we journey across the scenic Alentejo region. Our first stop is in Estremoz, a charming town where you can savour a morning coffee. Known for its medieval castle, cobblestone streets, and striking architecture, Estremoz offers a tranquil glimpse into traditional Portuguese life. As we continue into Spain, well reach Cceres just in time for lunch. Youll have the opportunity to explore its historic centre, a remarkably preserved enclave blending medieval and Renaissance styles. In the evening, well make our way to Madrid. After checking in, we'll head to the vibrant Plaza Mayor, a bustling hub filled with restaurants and lively ambiance, where you can soak up the evening atmosphere.
Day 4 - Madrid
On the fourth day of your journey, we begin with an in-depth exploration of Madrids central highlights. Our tour will take you along the famed Paseo del Prado, past the grand fountains of Cibeles and Neptuno, and through historic spots such as Puerta de Alcal and Plaza de Coln. Well also visit the lively Plaza Mayor, a vibrant hub rich in history. Our next stop is the scenic Retiro Park, providing a serene escape amidst the citys bustle here, youll enjoy views of the picturesque lake and the stunning Palacio de Cristal. Day 5 - Madrid - Zaragoza - Poblet - Barcelona
In the morning, we set off towards the region of Aragon, travelling through the charming landscapes of Castile. Our first destination is Zaragoza, where we pause to admire the magnificent Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, a landmark of great architectural beauty and spiritual significance. Continuing our journey, we make our way to the peaceful Poblet Abbey, a medieval monastery incredibly well-preserved through the centuries your entrance is included in the tour. In the evening, we arrive in the vibrant city of Barcelona, ready to uncover its many attractions.
Day 6 - Barcelona
Today, we'll dive into the heart of Barcelona with a morning panoramic tour of the city, celebrated for its lively atmosphere and rich cultural heritage. Nestled on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona is renowned for its eclectic blend of Gauds modernist architecture, the vibrant La Rambla, and its impressive historic achievements, such as hosting the Universal Exposition and the Olympics. In the afternoon, you can explore at your leisure perhaps meandering through the city's charming streets or discovering hidden gems. As evening falls, well take you to Maremagnum, a contemporary complex of entertainment and dining located by the sea near Plaa de Colom. Here, you have the perfect opportunity to indulge in a leisurely stroll while choosing from an array of dining options to suit your taste.
Day 7 - Barcelona - Paris
As your journey continues, we provide a transfer to the station in Barcelona, where you'll board a high-speed train bound for Paris. This comfortable and swift journey across Europe takes just over six hours and is included in your trip. Upon your arrival in Paris, you will be seamlessly transferred to your hotel. In the evening, your guide will reach out to you, ensuring you have all the necessary information, or you can find details on the information boards in the hotel reception area. Please note, the train journey will proceed without an accompanying guide, allowing you the freedom to relax and enjoy the scenic views from your window.
Day 8 - Paris
Today, we delve into the grandeur of France's illustrious past with a trip to the Palace of Versailles, renowned for its spectacular gardens (admission not included). As we return to the heart of Paris, we explore Montmartre, a delightful bohemian district celebrated for its artistic heritage, featuring renowned painters and lively cabarets. Next, a guided panoramic city tour awaits, inviting us to experience Paris's remarkable avenues and legendary landmarks. We conclude the day's adventure with a return to our hotel, with an optional evening ahead to enjoy a variety show should you wish.
Day 9 - Paris
Today, we begin our exploration in the heart of Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower. Youll have the opportunity to ascend to its second floor and take in breathtaking views of the city, with entry tickets included. Following this, well embark on a leisurely boat cruise along the Seine River, which lasts around one hour and fifteen minutes, offering a distinct perspective of Pariss stunning landmarks from the water. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisureexplore the vibrant streets, visit an art gallery, or perhaps indulge in some French delicacies. Please note that transfers back to the hotel are not included. Should wait times at the Eiffel Tower be excessive, we may reschedule to ensure a smooth experience.
