Day 1 - Warsaw - Olsztyn - Malbork - Gdansk
After breakfast, we head north from Warsaw towards Olsztyn. Our first stop is the Museum-Park of Folk Architecture where entry is on us. Here, you can step back in time as you explore traditional wooden houses, ancient mills, and a quaint church, all reminiscent of a bygone era. We continue our journey to Malbork to visit the awe-inspiring Malbork Castle, one of Europe's largest medieval fortresses, constructed in the 13th century by the Teutonic Order. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the castle invites you to delve into its storied past. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Gdansk, once known as Danzig. This city's historic centre promises a vibrant atmosphere brimming with life. Please be aware that the group composition might vary as travellers may join or leave at different points of the journey, but rest assured, the group size will always remain within the maximum limit. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Gdansk
In the morning, we will visit the European Solidarity Centre (tickets included), housed in a striking modern building that honours the Solidarno?? movementa pivotal force in the eventual downfall of the Soviet Union. Of particular note is the poignant monument dedicated to the fallen workers. Following this, we will explore the World War II Museum (tickets included), renowned for its extensive and detailed exhibits on the conflict. Our journey then takes us to SOPOT, a charming coastal town on the Baltic Sea. Known for its vibrant ambiance, broad sandy beaches, and historic wooden pierone of the longest in Europethe city provides stunning sea views. You will have time to wander and enjoy lunch. We will then return to GDANSK, where you'll have free time to continue exploring this splendid city at your leisure.
Day 3 - Gdansk - Torun - Bydgoszcz
Departing from Gdansk, we journey through the picturesque Pomeranian region. Our first stop is Torun, a medieval gem on the banks of the Vistula River and a recognised UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its well-preserved Gothic old town, Torun is also famous for its delicious gingerbread and as the birthplace of the renowned astronomer Copernicus. After lunch, we continue to Bydgoszcz, the regional capital. This charming town, surrounded by canals, boasts a picturesque old town with Prussian-style architecture and a serene atmosphere along the Brda River. Accommodation for the night will be provided.
Day 4 - Bydgoszcz - Poznan - Berlin
Today, we delve into the rich history of Pozna?, one of Poland's oldest cities, renowned for its vibrant historic centre and stunning market square. With its unique blend of tradition and modernity, Pozna? is considered the birthplace of the Polish state during the Middle Ages. You'll have some time to wander around its inviting market square and soak in the local atmosphere. As we continue our journey, we bid farewell to Poland and make our way to Germany, pausing along the route for a leisurely lunch. We aim to arrive in Berlin by early afternoon, allowing you time to explore the city. This evening, we gather at the Hofbru restaurant for a special dinner, a perfect moment to reflect on our travels and enjoy a fond farewell to fellow travellers.
Day 5 - Berlin
After breakfast, we will arrange your transfer to the airport, marking the end of this memorable journey. As you depart, you'll take with you wonderful and lasting memories of your travels.
