Day 1 - Warsaw
Upon your arrival in Warsaw, we will facilitate your transfer to the hotel, where you can unwind and have some free time to relax or explore at your own pace. Later in the afternoon, essential details and information about the beginning of your adventure will be available on the boards at the hotel reception, ensuring you are fully prepared for the exciting journey ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Warsaw
We will begin our second day with an insightful panoramic tour of Warsaw, accompanied by a local guide. As Poland's political and economic centre, home to nearly two million residents, Warsaw offers an intriguing mix of modern architecture and carefully restored historic buildings. Our walk will take us through the enchanting Old Town, with its restored Royal Palace and cobbled streets, recognisable as a UNESCO World Heritage Site following their reconstruction post-World War II. We will also visit the Palace of Culture, a skyscraper gifted by the Soviet Union, and reflect on the poignant history of the former largest Jewish ghetto in Europe. A stroll through the picturesque Lazienki Park, home to the renowned Chopin Monument, completes our guided tour. In the afternoon, you'll have the freedom to explore further. You might choose to visit the city's fascinating museums such as the National Museum or the Warsaw Rising Museum or enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the city centre, with its array of shops and activities.
Day 3 - Warsaw - Olsztyn - Elblag Canal - Malbork - Gdansk
Following a hearty breakfast, we will set off for the north of Poland. Our first stop is Olsztynek, where we will explore the captivating open-air Museum of Folk Architecture. Admission is included, so take your time to admire the collection of historic wooden houses, old mills, and a traditional church, all of which evoke a sense of stepping back in time. We will then journey to the Elblag Canal, celebrated as Poland's longest navigable canal. Here, we will visit an intriguing museum showcasing the fascinating method by which boats are transported over land on rails to navigate elevation changes. Our day continues with a visit to Malbork, home to one of Europe's largest medieval castles. Constructed in the 13th century by the Teutonic Order, this UNESCO World Heritage Site exudes historical grandeur; your admission (green route) is taken care of, allowing you to delve into its storied past. As we proceed, we will arrive in the vibrant city of Gdansk historically known as Danzig in the evening. The city's historic centre is both stunning and lively, providing an ideal setting for an evening stroll to soak up its distinctive atmosphere.
Day 4 - Gdansk - Sopot - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry
After a nourishing breakfast, we will meet our guide to explore the European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk. This modern architectural marvel honours the Solidarity movement's pivotal role in dismantling the Soviet Union, highlighting key events and featuring a monument dedicated to fallen workers. Our day continues with a visit to the Museum of the Second World War, opened in 2017, a poignant homage to the millions who perished during the conflict, offering insightful exhibits to deepen your historical understanding. Later, you'll have some time to wander the historic centre of Gdansk before we journey to Sopot, a lively seaside retreat on the Baltic. Sopot is famed for its long, sandy beach and Europes longest wooden pier, offering breathtaking coastal views. As the day winds down, we will board a modern cruise-style ferry bound for Sweden, with a 7:30 p.m. departure. Enjoy a relaxing evening aboard in your cabin, with breakfast included to start the next day refreshed.
Day 5 - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry - Stockholm
Upon our arrival in Karlskrona, southern Sweden, at approximately 6:30 a.m., we will proceed towards Stockholm. En route, we will pause in Vstervik, a delightful coastal town known for its charming historic centre. By the afternoon, we will reach Stockholm, Sweden's stunning capital, which gracefully spans fourteen islands within the Baltic Sea archipelago, all interlinked by a plethora of bridges and ferries. Stockholm is celebrated for its rich tapestry of history and striking architecture, alongside a harmonious blend of modern and traditional elements. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisureperhaps a walk through the historic centre, or a visit to one of the city's numerous museums and parks.
Day 6 - Stockholm - Mora
Following breakfast, we will embark on a guided tour of Stockholm, a stunning capital built across fourteen islands connected by bridges, where water is a constant presence. Our tour will take us through Gamla Stan, also known as the "City between the Bridges." This vibrant old town is the heart of the city, where you will find numerous monumental buildings like the Nobel Museum located by the Main Square, Stortorget, which honours Nobel Prize laureates, the magnificent Cathedral, and the Royal Palace. We will also visit the Fjllgatan viewpoint for splendid views across the cityscape. After the tour, you will have free time to explore further on your own. At around 16:00, we will depart north-west towards Mora. As we travel, you'll be surrounded by picturesque vistas of rolling hills, farmlands, quaint villages, and serene lakes. In the evening, we will arrive in Mora, a quaint city nestled between two lakes. Mora carries historical significance as the location where Gustav I of Sweden garnered support for his revolt against the Danish occupation in 1521.
Day 7 - Mora - Funsdalen - Roros - Trondheim
Departing early, we journey towards Norway through spectacular landscapes filled with forests, lakes, and mountains. Our first stop is the popular ski resort of Funsdalen. Here, you can enjoy the scenic surroundings before we continue on our route.Our next destination is Rros, a historical mining town that is recognised as a World Heritage Site and is renowned for its picturesque charm. We will have time for lunch and to explore this captivating town, with its quaint historic centre, preserved miners' houses, and a museum dedicated to its old foundry.Continuing our voyage, we make our way to Trondheim. Nestled in Norway's central coastal region, Trondheim is the country's third-largest city and boasts a rich history that dates back to the Viking era. It served as Norway's capital during the Middle Ages. While here, you can discover its 11th-century cathedral and stroll across the iconic bridge over the canal. The city also offers a vibrant nightlife and an impressive array of dining options to round off your day.
Day 8 - Trondheim - Kristiansund - Atlantic Road - Molde
Today begins with exploration in the vibrant heart of Trondheim, a city renowned for its historical significance and lively atmosphere. After enjoying the charms of Trondheim, we will journey along the picturesque Norwegian coastline and stunning fjords. Our route will take us across a scenic fjord by ferry, eventually arriving in Kristiansund. This city, famous for its natural beauty, is spread across several islands linked by bridges and embankments, offering a unique and quaint setting. Known traditionally as a fishing hub, Kristiansund boasts charming cobbled streets filled with shops, restaurants, and cafs where you can indulge in local cuisine at your leisure.After visiting Kristiansund, we will continue our trip through some of Norway's most scenic landscapes to reach Kvernes Stave Church. This 14th-century wooden church is a historical gem housing intricate altarpieces dedicated to the Virgin Mary and a captivating 300-year-old ship model. Admission is included for this visit.Our journey then takes us along the Atlantic Road, a marvel of engineering often regarded as one of the world's most beautiful roadways. This spectacular route spans eight bridges, connecting various islands and offering breathtaking views of the oceans dramatic waves swirling against the coastline. We will pause at a viewpoint to admire the stunning scenery firsthand.Continuing our adventure, we will reach Molde by evening. Day 9 - Molde - Geiranger - Briksdalsbreen - Loen
Today promises an enthralling journey through Norway's breathtaking landscapes, perfect for those who crave a mix of natural splendour and cultural charm. We'll begin with a picturesque ferry ride across the Romsdal Fjord, a 50-minute voyage that offers spectacular views at every turn. Venturing further, we'll find ourselves amidst snowy mountain peaks before descending into the serene beauty of Storfjorden. Another short ferry journey, lasting about 30 minutes, leads us past majestic snow-capped mountains to the famous Eagle Viewpoint, where panoramic views of Geiranger Fjord unfurl below. Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site, this fjord offers one of the most awe-inspiring views in Norway.Upon arrival in Geiranger, the rest of the morning is yours to explore. You might opt for a serene boat ride along the fjord, a leisurely walk near the cascading waterfalls, or simply a relaxing amble through the quaint village surroundings. After lunch, our adventure continues through landscapes framed by towering mountains and glistening fjords, leading us to Briksdalsbreena spectacular glacier set amidst a stunning natural backdrop. Here, you will have the opportunity to embark on a hike to the glacier, either on foot or by electric vehicle, if you prefer.As evening approaches, we'll proceed to the charming village of Loen, nestled by a serene fjord. Here, you can take the opportunity to ride one of the worlds steepest cable cars, which ascends over 1,000 metres above sea level, offering unparalleled views. Dinner is included, allowing you to savour local delicacies as you reflect on a day filled with unforgettable vistas.
Day 10 - Loen - Bergen
We set off early this morning, prepared to cover nearly 300 kilometres of awe-inspiring landscapes en route to Bergen. Our journey will take us along the scenic shores of Norway's fjords and over mountainous terrain, including a picturesque ferry crossing. Arriving in Bergen around lunchtime, we've planned for a memorable cable car ride up Flyen Mountain, where you'll be greeted with breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Following this, you will have some free time to delve into Bergen's rich history and vibrant cultural life. Explore Bryggen the historic dock district known for its iconic brightly coloured wooden houses, now recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Additionally, you may choose to wander through Bergen's bustling fish market, teeming with lively stalls and small restaurants, or perhaps visit the citys popular Aquarium. With its unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, Bergen offers plenty to discover at your leisure.
Day 11 - Bergen - Eidfjord - Voringfossen - Geilo - Oslo
We depart from Bergen early, venturing towards Norway's heart through dramatic landscapes. Crossing the remarkable suspension bridge over the Hardanger Fjord one of the country's most picturesque we make our way to Eidfjord, a quaint town nestled by the fjord's edge. Here, you'll have the opportunity to savour the magnificent views before we proceed to Vringfossen, deemed Norway's most breathtaking waterfall with its astounding 182-metre drop. We explore the viewpoints and bridges that provide awe-inspiring vistas of this natural wonder. Our journey continues through desolate high plateaus, interspersed with small lakes and snowfieldssome frozen for much of the year. We pause for lunch in Geilo, a well-known ski resort enveloped by beautiful surroundings. Following this break, our road leads us to Oslo, anticipated to arrive by evening. Once there, you can explore the vibrant city centre, meander through the historic harbour, or visit the modern Opera House with its stunning rooftop terrace views.
Day 12 - Oslo
Today, we embark on a panoramic tour of Oslo, Norway's vibrant capital, beautifully nestled amongst picturesque landscapes and celebrated as one of Europes greenest cities. With our local guide, well make our way past the Royal Palace, taking in its stately presence. We'll visit Vigeland Park, home to a remarkable collection of sculptures crafted by Gustav Vigeland. As we continue, we'll admire the exterior of the Town Hall, a striking example of functionalist architecture, and stop by the historic old port, where the citys maritime legacy thrives. We'll also get to see the contemporary faade of the new Opera House, known for its innovative design. Following the guided tour, we recommend a visit to one of Oslo's outstanding museums, such as the Munch Museum, which houses an extensive collection of works by the iconic artist Edvard Munch. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pacewhether you choose to delve into Oslos rich cultural scene or simply enjoy the natural beauty surrounding this dynamic city, the day promises an array of exciting possibilities.
