Day 1 - Warsaw - Kielce - Krakow
Following the Convention, we embark on an expedition to discover the remarkable destinations on offer. After a hearty breakfast, we set out for the MA?OPOLSKA region, renowned for its picturesque wooded hills. Our first stop is Kielce, a vibrant city dating back to the 11th century, boasting an elegant historic centre flanked by the majestic cathedral and the bishops palace, surrounded by lush green spaces. We then continue to Krakow, the capital of Lesser Poland, founded in the 7th century, and home to an Old Town that has earned a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List. You will have some free time here to enjoy lunch at your leisure.In the afternoon, we embark on a panoramic tour of Krakow, taking in the grandeur of Market Square, one of the largest squares in Europe and the true heart of the city. We also explore Wawel Castle Hill, once the residence of Polish Kings. Please be advised that our group may see changes along the route, with some travellers joining or departing at different points, though our group size will always remain within its maximum capacity. Day 2 - Krakow - Kalwaria zebrzydowska - Wadowice - Auschwitz - Katowice
In the morning, we will visit Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, a renowned pilgrimage site set amidst beautiful natural surroundings. This small town is famous for its monasteries and chapels known as the "Calvary," recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our journey continues to Wadowice, the birthplace of Karol Wojty?a, known to the world as Pope John Paul II. Here, you can choose to visit the Pope John Paul II House Museum or the chapel where he was baptised.Next, we will head to Auschwitz, the former Nazi concentration and extermination camp from World War II, where over a million lives were tragically lost. Today, Auschwitz serves as both a museum and a memorial site, also designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our day will proceed to Katowice, stopping briefly in the distinctive Nikiszowiec district. Built in the early 20th century to house miners and their families, its unique architectural style and community spirit have earned it significant heritage value. It is currently being considered for UNESCO World Heritage status. We will then arrive in Katowice, the capital of the Silesia region, known for its modern vibe and status as an economic and industrial hub. You will have some free time before we check into the hotel for the night.
Day 3 - Katowice - Opole - Wroclaw
We continue our journey to the lively city of Opole, where you'll have the chance to enjoy a leisurely coffee while soaking in the atmosphere of this charming town, renowned for hosting the National Polish Song Festival. Here, the old town offers a picturesque setting that preserves a slice of Poland's heritage. Just beyond Opole, we visit the Village Museum, an open-air exhibition that transports us back to 19th-century Polish life, showcasing the region's traditional wooden architecture through its beautifully preserved mills, church, and farms.Our afternoon takes us to Wroclaw, the capital of Lower Silesia, a city founded in the 10th century with a rich tapestry of Polish, Czech, Austrian, and German influences. Despite the devastation of World War II, Wroclaw's old town has been meticulously restored to reveal one of the most stunning squares in Poland. Known for its myriad of bridges and canals, Wroclaw provides a unique charm and character. We will enjoy a boat ride along the canals, allowing us to appreciate the city's beauty from the water. You will then have free time to explore further at your own pace.
Day 4 - Wroclaw - Berlin
Following breakfast, we embark on our journey to Germany, setting our sights on Berlin. We expect to arrive in this vibrant city by late morning, allowing you ample time to explore its rich cultural landscape. Spend your free time in the city centre, where you can choose from numerous spots to enjoy lunch at your leisure. In the evening, we will reconvene for a memorable dinner at the renowned Hofbru restaurant, a perfect conclusion to the tour and an opportunity to bid farewell to your fellow travellers.
Day 5 - Berlin
Upon enjoying a final breakfast together in Berlin, we will arrange your transfer to the airport. As you conclude your journey, take with you the wonderful, enduring memories of the places you've explored and the experiences you've shared. Safe travels as you embark on your onward journey.
