Day 1 - Warsaw
Welcome to Warsaw! Upon arrival, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some time to settle in and relax. Take advantage of your free time to explore the city or unwind after your journey. In the afternoon, please check the hotel reception area where you will find important information regarding the start of your tour. Enjoy getting acquainted with this vibrant city, setting the stage for your upcoming adventures. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Warsaw
We begin our day with a panoramic tour of Warsaw, led by a knowledgeable local guide. As the political and economic heart of Poland and home to nearly two million people, Warsaw blends modern architectural marvels with meticulously restored historical sites. We explore the enchanting old town, where cobbled streets and historic buildings, including the Royal Palace, have been carefully rebuilt since their destruction in World War II. This area is now proudly recognised as a World Heritage Site. Our journey takes us to the Palace of Culture, a towering gift from the Soviet Union, and we reflect on the poignant history of what was once the largest Jewish ghetto in Europe. We conclude our morning at Lazienki Park, a serene setting that houses the renowned Chopin Monument. The afternoon is yours to enjoy. You might visit the National Museum or the Warsaw Rising Museum, or simply wander through the vibrant city centre with its myriad shops and attractions.
Day 3 - Warsaw - Olsztyn - Elblag Canal - Malbork - Gdansk
After breakfast, we set off towards northern Poland, beginning our day's adventures in Olsztynek. Here, we'll explore the open-air Museum of Folk Architecture, where you can admire beautifully preserved wooden houses, old mills, and a traditional church, offering a glimpse into Poland's rural past. Next, we journey to the Elbl?g Canal, the longest navigable canal in Poland, where we'll visit a museum in the area where boats are ingeniously transported across land on rails to conquer elevation changes. Continuing our exploration, we head to Malbork to visit its impressive medieval castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 13th-century Teutonic Order fortress is among the largest of its kind in Europe. By evening, we will arrive in Gda?sk, a vibrant city once known as Danzig. We highly recommend an evening stroll through its historic centre, renowned for its stunning architecture and lively atmosphere.
Day 4 - Gdansk - Sopot - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry
Following breakfast, we'll join our guide in Gdansk to explore the European Solidarity Centre, a distinctive modern building dedicated to the history of the Solidarity movement, which significantly contributed to the decline of Soviet influence. Noteworthy is the monument memorialising the workers who lost their lives. Admission to the Museum of the Second World War is also included, offering a poignant tribute to the 3 to 6 million Polish casualties of the conflict. Afterwards, well have time to explore Gdansk's historic centre before making our way to Sopot, a delightful Baltic seaside resort town. Sopot is celebrated for its lively atmosphere, expansive sandy beach, and the remarkable wooden pier, which is one of the longest in Europe and provides splendid sea vistas. In the evening, we'll board a modern ferry, designed in a cruise style, for our voyage to Sweden. The ferry departs at 19:30, with overnight accommodation provided in comfortable cabins and breakfast included.
Day 5 - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry - Stockholm
On the fifth day, you'll embark on an extended journey through the scenic landscapes of southern Sweden. Our early morning ferry will dock in Karlskrona around 06:30 a.m., from where we will continue northwards. Along the way, we'll stop in Vstervik, a delightful coastal town known for its picturesque old town area. After enjoying the charming streets and local atmosphere, we will press on towards Stockholm, the majestic capital of Sweden. Sprawling across fourteen islands linked by impressive bridges, Stockholm is a city where history seamlessly melds with modernity. In the afternoon, you'll have the opportunity to explore at your leisure. We suggest a leisurely walk through the historic centre or perhaps a visit to one of the many museums or parks that reflect the rich cultural tapestry of this Nordic capital.
Day 6 - Stockholm - Mora
After breakfast, we'll embark on a guided tour of Stockholm, a city elegantly spread across 14 islands, where the presence of water adds to its undeniable charm. Our visit will include Gamla Stan, otherwise known as the 'City between the Bridges'. This lively old town is teeming with history and is home to significant landmarks such as the Nobel Museum, located near Stortorget, the main square honouring Nobel Prize laureates. We'll also explore the impressive Stockholm Cathedral and the Royal Palace, alongside taking in the vistas from Fjllgatan viewpoint. Following the tour, you'll have some free time to explore more of this captivating city at your own pace. Later, around 16:00, we will depart in the direction of northwest Sweden. The journey will treat us to pleasant views of rolling hills, agricultural lands, quaint towns, and serene lakes as we head towards Mora. By evening, we'll reach this small city nestled between two lakes, a significant site in Sweden's history where Gustav I won support against the Danish invasion in 1521.
Day 7 - Mora - Funsdalen - Roros - Trondheim
Well set off early from Mora, heading for the picturesque landscapes of Norway. The journey unfolds through expansive forests, shimmering lakes, and majestic mountains until we reach Funsdalen, a delightful ski resort that offers a glimpse into the serene beauty of this region. After a short stop, well continue to Rros, a World Heritage Site celebrated for its historic charm. With time to enjoy lunch, youre free to explore the quaint streets lined with old miners houses and visit the museum highlighting the towns rich mining history. Our adventure continues to Trondheim, strategically located in Norway's central coastal area. Known as a hub of cultural and historical significance, Trondheim was once the nation's capital during the Middle Ages. Here, explore captivating sites including the 11th-century Nidaros Cathedral and the iconic old bridge that crosses the canal. We recommend experiencing Trondheims lively nightlife and sampling its diverse dining options, providing a rewarding end to a day rich in history and natural splendour.
Day 8 - Trondheim - Kristiansund - Atlantic Road - Molde
Today, we begin with a leisurely morning in the heart of Trondheim, a city with captivating Viking heritage. Once we've had our fill of exploration, our journey continues towards the west coast of Norway, where natural beauty unfolds. We'll ferry across a scenic fjord on our way to Kristiansund, famed for its serene islands interlinked by picturesque bridges. This charming city, historically renowned as a fishing hub, invites you to wander its cobbled streets, soak up the atmosphere, and perhaps enjoy a hearty lunch in one of its inviting eateries.Our afternoon brings us to the historic Kvernes Stave Churchan exquisite structure from the 14th century, rich with maritime history and dedicated altarpieces. Admission is included for this insightful visit. We continue our adventure along the Atlantic Road, a breathtaking stretch celebrated for its dramatic ocean views. As we traverse the iconic eight bridges connecting the scattered isles, we'll pause at a viewpoint to fully appreciate the raw coastal beauty, where waves crash defiantly against the rugged shorelines.As our day winds down, we'll arrive in Molde by evening. Nestled along a stunning fjord, this vibrant town regularly hosts cruise liners, promising a lively end to an extraordinary day.
Day 9 - Molde - Geiranger - Briksdalsbreen - Loen
After a hearty breakfast in Molde, we embark on a day surrounded by awe-inspiring natural beauty, with our journey taking us through some of Norway's most iconic landscapes. First, we board a ferry for a 50-minute crossing of the Romsdal Fjord, immersing ourselves in the spectacular fjord scenery. As we continue, the route ascends into the snow-dusted mountains before descending towards the stunning Storfjorden. We board another ferry for a 30-minute sail through majestic valleys and past snow-capped peaks before reaching the Eagle Viewpoint, offering breathtaking vistas over the majestic Geiranger Fjord. This fjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is celebrated as one of the most beautiful on the planet.Once in Geiranger, you'll have time to explore at your leisure. Consider a leisurely boat trip along the fjord, a walk beside the cascading waterfalls, or simply relaxing in the village. After some time to soak in the surroundings, we drive through dramatic mountain landscapes to Briksdalsbreen, a remarkable glacier set against a stunning backdrop. Here, you can choose to hike to the glaciers base either on foot or via an optional electric vehicle.The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay in Loen, a picturesque town nestled by the fjord. In the evening, consider taking a ride on one of the planet's steepest cable cars, whisking you from fjord level to over 1,000 metres altitude, revealing extraordinary panoramic views.
Day 10 - Loen - Bergen
We'll embark on an early morning departure, covering a journey of nearly 300 km filled with awe-inspiring scenery to Bergen. Our route will take us alongside the fjords, over majestic mountains, and include a picturesque ferry crossing that offers perfect photo opportunities. We'll arrive in Bergen by lunchtime, where an exciting cable car ride up Mount Flyen awaits, presenting breathtaking panoramas of the city. Once we've soaked up the views, the afternoon is yours to explore Norways second-largest city. Well-known for its rich cultural history and captivating natural backdrop, Bergen is a city that enchants everyone. Be sure to wander through Bryggen, with its iconic colourful wooden buildings lining the historic waterfront a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alternatively, you may choose to visit the citys acclaimed Aquarium or indulge in some fresh seafood at the bustling fish market, offering a lively atmosphere filled with charming eateries and craft stalls.
Day 11 - Bergen - Eidfjord - Voringfossen - Geilo - Oslo
We depart from Bergen early as we venture deep into Norway's captivating interior across the spectacular suspension bridge over the Hardanger Fjord, renowned for its breathtaking beauty. Our journey brings us to the picturesque town of Eidfjord, set gracefully on the fjord's edge, offering us the opportunity to absorb the serene surroundings. Our next destination is the majestic Vringsfossen, one of Norways most awe-inspiring waterfalls with an impressive drop of 182 metres. As we explore the viewpoints and bridges, we're treated to unparalleled views of this natural wonder. Travelling through awe-inspiring landscapes of starkly beautiful high plateaus where small lakes remain frozen much of the year we continue onwards to Geilo, a favoured ski resort town where we'll pause for lunch. Afterward, we proceed towards Oslo, aiming for an evening arrival. Once in the city, it is worth venturing into the vibrant centre, exploring the historic harbour, or ascending the modern Opera House for a unique rooftop view.
Day 12 - Oslo - Oslo - Copenhagen Ferry
Today, we'll immerse ourselves in the beauty and culture of Oslo before our evening voyage to Denmark. Our day will begin with a panoramic tour of Norway's capital, renowned for its green spaces and stunning scenery. Accompanied by a local guide, we'll take in key landmarks, including the Royal Palace, picturesque Frogner Park with its impressive sculpture installations, and the Town Hall. We'll also pass by the old port and admire the modern architecture of the Opera House. The remainder of the morning and early afternoon is yours to explore Oslo further. You may choose to visit one of the city's popular museums or enjoy some time in one of its vibrant districts. In the late afternoon, we'll board a modern ferry, which offers the conveniences of a cruise ship, for our overnight journey to Copenhagen. We recommend boarding at 2:00 p.m. to ensure a timely departure at 3:00 p.m. Relax and enjoy the amenities on board as we set sail, with accommodation provided in comfortable cabins and breakfast included before our arrival in Copenhagen tomorrow. Note that ferry schedules may vary, so please check for any updates.
Day 13 - Oslo - Copenhagen Ferry - Copenhagen
Upon our morning arrival in Copenhagen, well be treated to a sweeping tour of Denmark's capital with a knowledgeable local guide. Known for its outstanding quality of life, focus on sustainability, and rich cultural tapestry, Copenhagen promises a captivating experience. Our itinerary includes a visit to the iconic Little Mermaid statue and a stroll through the vibrant Nyhavn Harbour, famous for its colourful historic buildings. We'll also admire the exterior of Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish royal family, and explore the lively City Hall Square and the Tivoli Gardens area. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure perhaps delve further into the citys charming streets, sample local cuisine, or relax in one of the many verdant parks.
Day 14 - Copenhagen - Rostock - Szczecin
After breakfast, we will set off towards Gedser, a quaint town marking the southernmost tip of Scandinavia. Around 11:00 a.m., we'll board a modern ferry for a two-hour crossing of the Baltic Sea to Germany, where we recommend you have lunch on board. Upon arrival in Rostock, you will have time to explore this lively city, home to Germany's largest port on the Baltic. Rostocks vibrant old town features notable landmarks, including the Market Square, the City Hall, and St. Marys Church. Continuing our journey, we travel through the Pomerania region into Poland, arriving in Szczecin by evening. Szczecin is a historic university city on the Oder River, with a charming old town that includes the Pomeranian Dukes Castle and scenic riverside terraces. You'll have free time to wander and absorb the city's atmosphere.
Day 15 - Szczecin - Bydgoszcz - Torun - Warsaw
After enjoying breakfast, we journey through the tranquil landscapes of western Poland, a region that was under German control until the aftermath of World War II. Our first stop awaits in Bydgoszcz, where you will have the opportunity to explore this historic city at leisure. Renowned for its splendid architecture and picturesque parks, Bydgoszcz is also famed for its waterways that connect the Vistula and Oder rivers. Following some free time to enjoy lunch, our travels continue to Toru?. This walled Gothic city boasts an impressive historic centre, earning it recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Toru? is also the birthplace of the famous astronomer Copernicus, and you'll have time to discover the citys charms, including the option to visit his museum-house if you wish. Our day concludes with a journey back to Warsaw, arriving in the capital by evening.
Day 16 - Warsaw
