Day 1 - Warsaw
Upon arrival in Warsaw, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, where you will have some free time to unwind and explore the surroundings at your leisure. In the afternoon, you can check the details of our tour's commencement, conveniently displayed on the information boards at the hotel reception. Please be aware that the composition of our group may change, as travellers might join or leave at different stages of the tour, though the group size will always remain within its set maximum. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Warsaw
Today, we begin with a comprehensive tour of Warsaw, guided by a local expert. As Poland's capital, Warsaw is a bustling blend of modern and historic charm. We will explore the quaint old town, renowned for its cobbled streets and buildings, including the Royal Palace, all beautifully reconstructed after World War II and now recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our tour also takes us to the Palace of Culture, a towering structure gifted by the Soviet Union, and provides a glimpse into the poignant history of the Jewish ghetto, once Europe's largest. We'll then enjoy a leisurely walk through the serene Lazienki Park, home to the renowned Chopin Monument. In the afternoon, you have the freedom to delve deeper into the city's offerings. You might choose to visit cultural institutions such as the National Museum or the Warsaw Rising Museum, or perhaps wander through the vibrant city centre, filled with shops and local activities. Please be aware that the city tour may operate as a regular tourist service depending on the number of participants.
Day 3 - Warsaw - Wroclaw
Today, we set off early for Wroclaw, the vibrant capital of Lower Silesia, steeped in history since its founding in the 10th century. A unique blend of Polish, Czech, Austrian, and German influences has left an indelible mark on its architecture and culture. The citys historic centre, meticulously rebuilt after World War II, boasts one of the most beautiful squares in Poland. Known for its delightful network of bridges and canals, Wroclaw invites exploration. In the afternoon, join us for a scenic boat ride along its picturesque waterways, a feature that contributes to the city's unique charm. Following this, you'll have the rest of the day free to wander at your own pace and discover more of Wroclaw's captivating sights and sounds.
Day 4 - Wroclaw - Poznan - Torun - Gdansk
Today, we set off towards Greater Poland, arriving in its capital city, Poznan one of Poland's oldest cities. Here, the picturesque old town awaits, with its remarkable Market Square. The square is alive with colourful Renaissance buildings surrounding the Town Hall, creating a lively, welcoming atmosphere. At noon, tradition comes to life with the delightful spectacle of two mechanical goats clashing in merriment as the clock strikes. You'll have time to savour lunch and wander through this charming area. Our travels then take us to Torun, a Gothic city with a splendid historic centre that has earned World Heritage status. Renowned as the birthplace of the astronomer Copernicus, you may choose to visit the museum dedicated to his memory. Later, we continue to Gdansk, previously known as Danzig, where we arrive in the late afternoon. The historic centre of Gdansk is filled with charm and vibrancy, making it an ideal setting for an evening promenade to take in the bustling atmosphere.
Day 5 - Gdansk
After breakfast today, we will explore the European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk. This impressive modern building commemorates the role of the "Solidarity" union in the collapse of Soviet influence, and features a monument honouring the workers who lost their lives. We will then pass by the Museum of the Second World War, an informative site not to miss (though it remains closed on Mondays). Our journey continues with a visit to Sopot, a chic seaside retreat located nearby. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and expansive beach along the Baltic Sea, you will have time here to enjoy a leisurely lunch and take in the views from one of the longest wooden piers in Europe. Later, we will return to Gdansk, granting you the afternoon to wander at your own pace through this vibrant city.
Day 6 - Gdansk - Malbork - Frombork - Elblag - Warsaw
Well depart from Gdansk and make our way to Malbork, where well visit its renowned castle. This impressive 13th-century fortress, constructed by the Teutonic Order, is among the largest medieval castles in Europe and has been recognised as a World Heritage Site. Your entry tickets for the green route are included. Following our exploration, well proceed to Frombork, a serene village situated on Polands northeastern coast. Here, you can explore the walled complex containing the tomb of Nicolaus Copernicus, and there will be time for a leisurely lunch and a stroll. Our journey continues with a visit to the Elblag Canal, the longest navigable canal in Poland and an engineering masterpiece from the 19th century. Well tour the museum dedicated to this canal, where you'll learn how boats are ingeniously transported over land using rail systems to navigate height differences. Well then head back to Warsaw, reaching the capital by the end of the day.
Day 7 - Warsaw
Following breakfast, our journey concludes, leaving you with a treasury of cherished memories.
