Day 1 - Warsaw
As you arrive in Warsaw, you'll be met and taken to your hotel, allowing you some free time to settle in and explore at your own pace. Later in the day, check the information boards in the hotel reception area for details about the commencement of your tour. Welcome to the beginning of your exciting journey! Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Warsaw
On our second day, we will embark on a captivating panoramic tour of Warsaw with a local guide. This vibrant city, home to nearly two million residents, stands as Poland's political and economic heart. It seamlessly combines modern architecture with beautifully restored historic buildings. We will explore the delightful old town, with its cobbled streets and the Royal Palace, an area that has been meticulously rebuilt following its destruction during World War II and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our journey continues with a visit to the Palace of Culturean imposing skyscraper gifted by the Soviet Union. As we delve into history, we will reflect upon the largest Jewish ghetto in Europe in its time. Additionally, we will stroll through ?azienki Park, which houses the iconic Chopin Monument.In the afternoon, feel free to visit some of the city's renowned museums, such as the National Museum and the Warsaw Rising Museum, or immerse yourself in the lively city centre teeming with shops and activities.
Day 3 - Warsaw - Olsztyn - Elblag Canal - Malbork - Gdansk
After breakfast, we depart for the picturesque northern region of Poland. Our journey begins in Olsztynek, where we visit the fascinating open-air Museum of Folk Architecture. Entrance is included, allowing us to admire a collection of traditional wooden houses, vintage mills, and a charming church, offering a glimpse into the past. We then proceed to the Elbl?g Canal, renowned as the longest navigable canal in Poland. Here, you'll have the opportunity to explore a captivating museum showcasing the ingenious engineering where boats are transported over land on rails to traverse elevation changes. Our next destination is the impressive Malbork Castle, a magnificent structure from the 13th century built by the Teutonic Order. As one of the largest medieval castles in Europe, it is also a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Admission to the green route is provided, allowing us to delve into its rich history. In the evening, we'll arrive in Gda?sk, formerly Danzig, a city known for its stunning and lively historic centre. We highly recommend an evening stroll to soak in the vibrant atmosphere.
Day 4 - Gdansk - Sopot - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry
Following a satisfying breakfast, we'll head out with our guide to explore the European Solidarity Centre. This modern architectural masterpiece honours the influential Solidarity movement, which significantly contributed to the eventual dissolution of the Soviet Union. A visit to the moving monument for the fallen workers is a key part of our time here. Next, we'll visit the Museum of the Second World War, an enlightening establishment that opened in 2017. It serves as a poignant reminder of the millions of Polish lives lost during that devastating conflict.Once we have absorbed these significant historical lessons, you'll have time to wander the historic centre of Gdanskits well-preserved buildings and lively spirit make for captivating exploration. Afterward, we'll journey to Sopot, a delightful seaside resort famed for its lively ambiance and expansive sandy beach. Here, you can also walk along one of Europe's longest wooden piers, offering breathtaking Baltic Sea views.In the evening, we'll embark on a modern cruise-style ferry for our journey to Sweden. Departure is scheduled for 19:30, and well stay overnight in comfortable cabins, with breakfast included onboard.
Day 5 - Sopot - Nynshamn Ferry - Stockholm
Following a comfortable overnight ferry journey, we will arrive in Karlskrona, located in the southern part of Sweden, at approximately 6:30 a.m. Our travels will then take us to Stockholm, with an en-route stop in Vstervik. This delightful seaside town is known for its quaint historic centre and picturesque setting. Upon reaching Stockholm in the afternoon, you will be free to explore at your leisure. The city, beautifully spread across fourteen islands interconnected by numerous bridges and ferries, is the capital of Sweden and offers a fascinating blend of historical charm and modern innovation. We suggest exploring the historic centre and considering visits to its many museums and parks to make the most of your time.
Day 6 - Stockholm
Today we embark on a panoramic tour of Stockholm, a captivating capital gracing 14 interconnected islands. Our exploration begins in Gamla Stan, the bustling old quarter, known as "the city between bridges." Here, you'll encounter monumental buildings such as the Nobel Prize Museum, situated near Stortorget's main squarea tribute to Nobel laureates. We'll also visit the majestic Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Whenever possible, we'll pause to take in the breathtaking views from Fjllgatan viewpoint. Following the tour, the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. We suggest visiting Stockholm's diverse museums and scenic parks. For those interested in optional activities, both the City Hall and the Vasa Museum offer intriguing insights.
Day 7 - Stockholm - Stockholm - Turku Ferry
Today you have a free day to explore the diverse wonders of Stockholm at your own pace. Whether you wish to delve into the city's rich cultural tapestry or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll along its scenic streets, the choice is yours. Later in the evening, we'll board a modern ferry for an overnight voyage to Finland. You'll be comfortably accommodated in double en-suite cabins for the journey ahead.
Day 8 - Stockholm - Turku Ferry - Naantali - Helsinki
Upon awakening in Finland, we suggest making your way to the ships deck to witness the stunning sunrise as we sail past the land Islandsa striking cluster of hundreds of forested isles. Once we disembark in Turku, a charming city with Swedish influences, youll have some time to explore. Our journey proceeds to Naantali, a picturesque town renowned for its quaint wooden houses by the sea. Arriving in Helsinki around lunchtime, youll have the rest of the afternoon at leisure to discover the delights of the Finnish capital, from its old market and Russian-influenced architecture to its magnificent churches.
Day 9 - Helsinki - Helsinki - Tallinn Ferry - Tallinn
Our day begins with an intriguing boat trip to the Suomenlinna Islands, a cluster of six islands where we'll explore the impressive fortress, a historic bastion once tasked with safeguarding the citys entrance. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the fortress is easily navigated by pedestrian bridges connecting the islands. In the afternoon, well set sail for Estonia, embarking on a ferry crossing that takes roughly two and a half hours. As we depart Helsinki, youll be treated to picturesque views of the surrounding islands. Well arrive in Tallinn in the evening, ready to uncover the charms of this captivating city.
Day 10 - Tallinn
On day ten, you'll immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, renowned for its well-preserved medieval charm. We will begin with a panoramic tour, where you'll marvel at the citys ancient walls, exquisite churches, and bustling squares that echo centuries of history. Wander through cobbled streets lined with intriguing tourist attractions, capturing the essence of this enchanting city. In the afternoon, the time is yours to explore further at your own pace.
