Day 1 - Lima
Upon arrival at Lima airport, you will be met and assisted before transferring to your chosen hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax and acclimatise or to begin exploring Perus sprawling capital. Lima is a vibrant metropolis of around 10 million people, rich in history and undergoing dynamic cultural and economic change. You might choose to rest after your flight or venture out for a first impression of the citys lively streets. Alternatively, you can opt to join the private Magic Water Circuit with Dinner (not available Sundays and Mondays). This evening excursion begins at 17:30 and lasts approximately four hours, including pick-up and drop-off, a bilingual guide, admission to the worlds largest fountain complex as certified by Guinness World Records, and a dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Lima.
Day 2 - Lima
After breakfast, we explore Limas historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in colonial architecture. Our tour begins at the Main Square, where you can admire the impressive Spanish Empire-era buildings. We visit the cathedral and then Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro to Jernimo de Aliaga; it remains in the same family today. Next, we head to the Larco Museum in the Pueblo Libre district, housed in a restored viceregal mansion built atop a pre-Columbian pyramid. The museum holds an extensive collection of pre-Hispanic gold and silver artefacts, including notable examples of erotic art. After the visit, we return to the hotel for some rest. The afternoon is free for you to explore Lima at your own pace.
Day 3 - Lima - Cusco
After breakfast, we transfer you from your hotel to Lima Airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, a representative will welcome you and escort you to your hotel. In the afternoon, we take you on a guided tour of Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. The tour begins at the Santo Domingo Convent, a Renaissance-Baroque complex built atop the Inca Coricancha templeonce one of the most important sun worship sites, with its foundations still visible. Next, visit the Cathedral, the dominant landmark of the Main Square. We then head to the hills surrounding Cusco to explore the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, known for its impressive stone walls and panoramic views of the city. Continue to the ruins of Qenqo, believed to have been used for agricultural rituals, and finally visit Puka Pukara, an Inca military complex featuring dwellings, aqueducts, walls and towers. After the tour, we return you to your hotel. Please note that your flight to Cusco is not included. Overnight in Cusco.
Day 4 - Cusco - Yucay
After breakfast, we collect you from your hotel in Cusco for a visit to Chinchero, a traditional town perched high above the valley. The local community here maintains artisan skills and customs passed down from the Incas, visible in their clothing and daily life. Explore the archaeological remains and the seventeenth-century church, one of Perus earliest Catholic buildings. Next, we transfer you to the Living Museum of Yucay, where you can see demonstrations of traditional Andean crafts such as textile weaving, adobe construction, pottery, and silverworkpractised as they were in Inca times. The museum is also home to llamas, sheep, and alpacas, which you are welcome to feed. Later, arrive in Ollantaytambo, a town continuously inhabited since Inca times. Visit the impressive fortress built beside the mountain before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant offering refined Andean cuisine in a warm, authentic setting. On Sundays, the visit includes time at the local market. After lunch, we return you to your hotel in the Sacred Valley for your overnight stay.
Day 5 - Cusco
After breakfast, we transfer you to Ollanta Station to board the train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. The journey offers stunning views of the Andean landscape as you travel through dramatic mountain scenery. Upon arrival, a short 25-minute coach ride takes you to Machu Picchu. This remarkable site, often called the Lost City of the Incas, was built in the 1450s by Emperor Pachacuti as a royal retreat. It was abandoned within a century after the Spanish conquest and remained hidden from the outside world, preserving its remarkable condition. We take you on a guided tour to explore the citadels key landmarks and learn about its history. Afterwards, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at the well-known Caf Inkaterra, a charming thatched-roof restaurant nestled between the railway and the mountains. In the afternoon, we transfer you back to Cusco for your overnight stay.
Day 6 - Cusco
After breakfast, we transfer you to Cusco Airport for your onward journey.
