Day 2 - Lima
After breakfast at the hotel, we explore Limas historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich in colonial architecture. Our tour begins in the colonial downtown area, where we visit the Main Square to admire the impressive Spanish Empire buildings. We then see Limas 16th-century Cathedral before visiting Casa Aliaga, a colonial mansion granted by Francisco Pizarro to one of his captains, which remains in the same family today. Next, we head to the traditional district of Pueblo Libre to visit the Larco Museum, housed in a restored viceregal mansion built atop a seventh-century pre-Columbian pyramid. The museum features an extensive collection of pre-Hispanic gold and silver artefacts, including pieces of erotic art. The afternoon is free for you to relax or explore at your own pace. Overnight in Lima.
Day 3 - Lima - Cusco

Upon arrival, a representative will welcome you and escort you to your hotel in Cusco. In the afternoon, we take you on a guided tour of this historic city, once the capital of the Inca Empire. The tour begins at the Santo Domingo Convent, a Renaissance-baroque complex built atop the Inca temple Coricancha, once lavishly adorned with gold. Next, visit the Cathedral, the dominant structure on the Main Square. We then head to the hills overlooking Cusco to explore the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, known for its impressive stone walls and panoramic views. Nearby, discover the ruins of Qenqo, believed to have been used for agricultural rituals, before visiting Puka Pukara, an Inca military complex featuring dwellings, aqueducts, and defensive structures. Morays distinctive concentric circular terraces are believed to have been used for agricultural experimentation, each level creating a unique microclimate. Next, we visit Maras, famous for its extensive salt ponds that have supported local families since Inca times. These salt deposits were once a vital economic resource for the empire. After exploring these remarkable sites, we return to your hotel in Cusco for the evening.
