Day 1 - Trondheim
Welcome to your tour! Upon arrival in Trondheim, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some free time to explore or relax after your journey. In the afternoon, make sure to check the hotel reception boards for important information regarding the start of your tour. Enjoy your first glimpse of this charming city at your own pace. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Trondheim - Kristiansund - Atlantic Road - Molde
Starting our day in the charming city of Trondheim, you'll have an opportunity to explore its vibrant heart. From there, we continue our adventure, immersing ourselves in the breathtaking coastal and fjord landscapes that line the Norwegian Sea. An exciting ferry crossing awaits, taking us over one of these magnificent fjords en route to Kristiansund. This city, famed for its stunning natural backdrop, historically thrived as a fishing centre. Sprawling across several islands linked by bridges and embankments, Kristiansund boasts a unique architectural charm. Here, you'll have time to wander the cobblestone streets, explore local shops, and perhaps indulge in lunch at one of its inviting cafes or restaurants.Our journey will then lead us through a panorama of scenic vistas to the illustrious Kvernes Stave Church. Dating back to the 14th century, this marvellous structure hosts treasures such as a 300-year-old ship model and altarpieces dedicated to the Virgin Mary, and our visit includes admission. We then travel along the renowned Atlantic Road, a drive celebrated for its breathtaking ocean views. Connecting a series of islands via eight spectacular bridges, this stretch offers dramatic scenery where waves from the ocean often crash onto the nearby coast. We'll pause at a viewpoint along this route to fully appreciate the stunning surroundings before heading towards Molde. Here, nestled along a tranquil fjord, we'll arrive by evening in this lively town, a frequent docking site for majestic cruise ships.
Day 3 - Molde - Geiranger - Briksdalsbreen - Loen
Our journey promises a day filled with breathtaking sights as we explore Norway's World Heritage Site fjords, majestic glaciers, and enchanting towns. We start with a ferry crossing over the Romsdal Fjord, allowing you 50 minutes to soak in the stunning natural beauty. Continuing on, we'll ascend through the snow-dusted mountains before descending towards the magnificent Storfjorden, where more awe-inspiring views await. A second ferry ride, lasting 30 minutes, will transport us past snow-capped peaks to the Eagle Viewpoint, offering one of Norway's most extraordinary vistas over Geiranger Fjord. Upon our arrival in Geiranger, you'll have time to explore this charming town at your leisure. Consider taking a boat ride along the fjord, wandering beside the cascading waterfalls that border the town, or simply relaxing in the picturesque village. We'll enjoy lunch before moving on through dramatic mountain landscapes and fjords. Our next highlight is Briksdalsbreen, an awe-inspiring glacier situated in a serene natural setting. Take advantage of the opportunity to hike from the base to the glacier, either on foot or by opting for an electric vehicle. Dinner is included, and we'll spend the night in the quaint town of Loen, nestled by the fjord. Here, you can choose to ride one of the steepest cable cars in the world, whisking you from the fjord to over 1,000 metres above sea level, offering breathtaking panoramic views.
Day 4 - Loen - Bergen
We start our day bright and early, ready for our journey to Bergen, covering just under 300 km amidst Norways stunning landscapes. As we travel, we'll be treated to the picturesque views of fjords, cross majestic mountains, and enjoy a scenic ferry journey. We aim to arrive in Bergen around lunchtime, where we'll whisk you up Mount Flyen aboard the cable car for panoramic vistas of this charming city. Afterward, youll have ample time to explore Bergen at your own pace. As Norway's second-largest city, it boasts a rich tapestry of history and culture set against a backdrop of spectacular natural beauty. Wander through Bryggen, the historic harbour district known for its vibrant wooden buildings and recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You might also choose to visit the bustling fish market, where a variety of small restaurants entice with fresh local fare, or the Aquarium, a popular attraction nearby.
Day 5 - Bergen - Eidfjord - Voringfossen - Geilo - Oslo
We depart Bergen bright and early, venturing into the heart of Norway. A scenic drive takes us across the striking suspension bridge over Hardanger Fjord, renowned for its natural beauty. Our first stop is Eidfjord, a picturesque town situated at the edge of the fjord. Continuing our journey, we arrive at Voringfossen, often hailed as Norway's most spectacular waterfall, with a breathtaking 182-metre drop. Here, we'll take time to explore the viewpoints and walk across bridges that present stunning vistas of the cascading water.Our route then takes us through awe-inspiring landscapes featuring desolate high plateaus adorned with small lakes often frozen for much of the year and snowfields. We pause in the popular ski resort town of Geilo to enjoy lunch amidst this serene setting. Post-lunch, we proceed towards Oslo, reaching the capital in the evening. Once in Oslo, you are encouraged to explore its lively city centre. A walk through the historic harbour or a visit to the rooftop terrace of the iconic Opera House are highly recommended.
Day 6 - Oslo - Orebro - Stockholm
After a panoramic tour of Oslo led by a local guide, you'll have the opportunity to explore this striking city at your leisure. Known as the European Green Capital, Oslo effortlessly blends contemporary architecture with classical structures, set against a backdrop of stunning natural scenery and expansive parks adorned with sculptures. Following your free exploration time, well depart for Sweden, travelling through picturesque landscapes of forests and lakes. Our journey takes us to rebro, a town steeped in history, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the charming old town and its impressive castle by a beautiful lake. Well then continue on to Stockholm, arriving in the evening.
Day 7 - Stockholm
Today, we'll embark on an enlightening tour of Stockholm, a city uniquely spread across 14 interconnected islands. Our journey begins in Gamla Stan, the vibrant old town also referred to as "the city between bridges". As we stroll through its cobbled streets, we'll encounter notable landmarks, including the Nobel Prize Museum, situated in Stortorget Square that pays homage to Nobel Prize laureates, alongside the grand Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Whenever the opportunity arises, we'll pause at the Fjllgatan viewpoint for stunning views over the city. Following the guided portion of the tour, youll enjoy leisure time to delve deeper into Stockholms rich offerings. We suggest visiting its innovative museums and tranquil parks. Should you wish, consider an optional visit to the City Hall or the renowned Vasa Museum, home to the well-preserved 17th-century warship.
Day 8 - Stockholm - Helsingor - Copenhagen
We begin by heading south from Stockholm, making our way to the lively coastal town of Helsingborg. After some time exploring the town, we'll embark on a ferry crossing from Sweden to Helsingr in Denmark, scheduled for the early afternoon. You'll have the opportunity to spend some time in Helsingr, renowned as the setting for Shakespeare's Hamlet, with the imposing Kronborg Castle standing as a highlight. Our journey continues to Copenhagen, where we plan to arrive by evening.
Day 9 - Copenhagen
Today, well embark on a guided panoramic tour of Copenhagen, a city renowned for its high quality of life, sustainability initiatives, and vibrant cultural offerings. Our exploration will include iconic sights such as The Little Mermaid statue and the picturesque Nyhavn harbour, lined with its famed colourful historic buildings. Well also view the exterior of the Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the Danish royal family, and take in the bustling atmosphere of Town Hall Square. Additionally, we will pass by the Tivoli Park area, a beloved spot for both locals and tourists. Following the tour, you will have the afternoon free to discover more of Copenhagen at your leisure, perhaps delving into its culinary scene or visiting a museum.
