Day 1 - Arrival in Oslo
Welcome to Norway – a land of dramatic fjords, pristine nature and the enchanting midnight sun. Upon arrival at Oslo Gardermoen Airport, make your own way to the hotel. (Optional private transfer available to pre-book.)
Spend the evening at leisure exploring Oslo’s waterfront, cafés and modern architecture.
Day 2 - Oslo to Evenes & Sortland
Oslo - Evenes -Sortland. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before meeting your Tour Leader in reception for a welcome briefing. We depart together at 10:00 for our included group flight to Evenes Airport, departing Oslo at 13:20.
Upon arrival at Evenes/Harstad–Narvik Airport, meet your local driver and board a comfortable private coach for the journey to Sortland, known as the “Blue Town” for its strikingly painted buildings.
Day 3 - Sortland & Trollfjord Cruise
After breakfast, we set off on a thrilling two-hour RIB or boat excursion (departing 11:00) to the world-famous Trollfjord – home to the largest population of white-tailed sea eagles on Earth. Along the way, we’ll pass salmon farms and learn about local birdlife, history and nature.
The afternoon is free to explore Sortland at your own pace. You may wish to visit the Sortland Museum, sample local delicacies such as stockfish, whale steak or Arctic char, or stroll through town admiring its colourful street art.For those seeking adventure, hike up Steiroheia for panoramic views of the fjord and surrounding mountains.Info: Distance 4–6 km return – Duration 1.5–2.5 hours – Difficulty: Easy to moderate.
Day 4 - Sortland to Svolaer, Lofoten Islands
Sortland - Lofoten. After breakfast, we travel through stunning northern landscapes en route to Svolvær, the gateway to the Lofoten archipelago. En route, we’ll pause for photo stops at scenic viewpoints.
Before checking in, you can choose from a range of optional activities:
Fishing trip in Lofoten (4 hours)
Sea kayaking from Svolvær (2 hours)
Sauna session (90 minutes)
Day 5 - Discovering Lofoten
After breakfast, we begin a panoramic sightseeing tour with our Tour Leader. Our first stop is the Lofotr Viking Museum, where we step back a thousand years to the age of the Vikings. Learn about life in a reconstructed chieftain’s longhouse, and even try rowing a Viking ship!
Archaeological findings show that stockfish – dried cod – was first traded by Vikings over 1,000 years ago, and it remains one of Norway’s most valuable exports today.
This evening, you may wish to visit the Magic Ice Bar in Svolvær (optional entrance).
Day 6 - Lofoten to Oslo
Lofoten - Oslo. After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning in Svolvær before checking out. We depart at 11:30 for Evenes Airport, travelling along the E10 National Tourist Route – renowned for its breathtaking contrasts of jagged peaks, white beaches and emerald-green sea. Along the coast, you’ll spot traditional red “rorbu” cabins, once home to generations of fishermen.
Our late-afternoon flight departs Evenes at 17:15, arriving in Oslo at 19:00. From the terminal, it’s an easy walk to your hotel.
Day 7 - Departure from Oslo
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before your onward journey. Depending on your flight time, you may wish to explore Oslo or pick up some last-minute Viking souvenirs.
