Day 1 - Casablanca
Welcome to Morocco! Your adventure begins as you arrive in Casablanca, Morocco's bustling economic hub. Upon landing at the airport, you'll be whisked away to your hotel, where you can settle in and relax. Later in the day, our guide will touch base with you to go over the exciting itinerary ahead. Your first taste of Moroccan hospitality comes with an included dinner, setting the perfect tone for your upcoming journey. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Casablanca - Marrakech
Today, we embark on a guided exploration of Casablanca, Morocco's largest and most economically significant city. We'll meander along its grand avenues and visit the elegant Mohamed V Square, known for its picturesque fountain, exquisite Moorish architecture, and towering palm trees. Our walk will also take us through the tranquil Arab League Park and the charming little Medina, where you can soak in the local atmosphere. The highlight of our tour is the Hassan II Mosque, an architectural marvel by the sea its 210-metre-high minaret famously features laser lights directed towards Mecca. This mosque is uniquely open to non-Muslims, offering a rare glimpse into Islamic culture. Following the tour, you'll have time to enjoy lunch at your leisure in the vibrant maritime area of La Corniche.In the afternoon, we journey to Marrakech, where upon arrival, you're invited to experience the city with a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride taking you to the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa square, a hub of activity in the city's heart. A delicious dinner awaits you at the hotel once the day's adventures conclude.
Day 3 - Marrakech
Today, we immerse ourselves in the enchanting city of Marrakech, a place that lends its name to the country itself. Our guided exploration will lead us through the city's historic walls, into the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square, and through the vibrant Medina. A visit to the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, with its towering minaret, and the beautiful Bahia Palace is included. After our tour, you'll have time to enjoy a leisurely lunch, relax by the pool or in the hotel's lush garden, or perhaps indulge in a spot of shopping in the bustling souks. In the evening, there's the option to attend a Fantasy Party, an excursion that offers a deeper dive into the local culture.
Day 4 - Marrakech - Ait Benhadou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades
We begin our day by crossing the dramatic Atlas Mountains, where the peaks, often dusted with snow, wave goodbye as we depart from the palm-laden valleys of Marrakech. The route unfolds picturesque views of quaint Berber villages perched along deep gorges. Our first stop is the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, famed for its role as a backdrop in numerous films. As we traverse landscapes reminiscent of biblical times, we arrive in Ouarzazate, celebrated for its striking Kasbah. The journey continues through the stunning Valley of Roses, eventually leading us to Boumalne Dades, where we will enjoy an included dinner. Please note that during winter, road closures due to snow may require adjustments to our itinerary. Access to the Sahara Desert is contingent upon road conditions.
Day 5 - Boumalne Dades - Todgha - Erfoud
Today, set off on an exhilarating adventure into the Sahara Desert. We embark on a drive through the Valley of the Kasbahs, navigating through river valleys flanked by lush palm trees, and rocky plains that give way to verdant oases and traditional adobe villages. These formidable fortresses serve as guardians of ancient routes. Our journey takes us to the breathtaking Todgha Gorge, a majestic canyon where the rock walls tower over 100 metres on either sidea truly awe-inspiring sight. Along the way, we'll pause at a quaint adobe village near Khorbat, where you can learn about the local desert community. Please note, access can be affected by weather conditions such as river flooding. We then continue towards Erfoud. For those seeking more adventure, there's an opportunity to join an off-road excursion into the Sahara Desert's sand dunes, offering a unique chance to witness a stunning sunset. Lunch is included, so there's no need to worry about provisions as we explore this incredible landscape.
Day 6 - Erfoud - Fez
Well set off early from Erfoud, embarking on a journey across the spectacular Atlas Mountains. As we travel through dramatic gorges and breathtaking vistas, we'll experience a unique high plateau, home to nomadic shepherds. Our first stop is Midelt, a vibrant commercial town renowned for its agricultural heritage, where well take a brief pause before continuing. Lunch, set amidst the stunning natural beauty of the Middle Atlas by a tranquil lake, is included. As we progress, the landscapes transform dramatically, revealing rich forests where snow often covers the ground in winter. Near Azrou, well visit the "House of Cedars" within a national parka small museum offering fascinating insights into the region. Here, youll have the chance to observe lively monkey colonies that wander the forest. Our journey continues to the quaint town of Bhalil, inhabited by Berbers of the Middle Atlas. This peaceful place is famed for its charming old town with colourful streets and houses integrated into ancient caves. Our final destination for the day is Fez, where well pause for a stunning view of the ancient city from the Marinid Tombs before heading to our hotel. Dinner will be included, offering a perfect end to an adventurous day.
Day 7 - Fez - Tangier
We will start our day exploring Fez, renowned as Morocco's cultural capital. Our tour begins at the magnificent Bronze Gates of the Royal Palace, followed by a walk through the Jewish quarter, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of its bustling souks and the historic Tanners Quarter. The city's Medina, celebrated for preserving its traditional Arab character, offers a unique glimpse into timeless Moroccan life. Our morning concludes with lunch at a historic palace within the Medina, allowing you to savour authentic local cuisine. In the afternoon, we embark on a journey north, travelling along the modern highway that leads us to Tangier. We will arrive in the evening, where dinner at the hotel awaits us.
Day 8 - Tangier - Seville
Today, enjoy some leisure time in Tangier perhaps seize the opportunity for a bit of last-minute shopping or simply soak in the citys vibrant atmosphere. Later, well board a ferry back to Spain; please remember that the bus wont accompany us on the ferry, so you'll need to manage your luggage. Upon arriving in Algeciras or Tarifa, well continue our journey to Seville, reaching the charming Andalusian city by evening. Dinner will be provided upon our arrival, allowing you to relax and prepare for the upcoming days in Spain.
Day 9 - Seville
Today, we will explore the vibrant and historic city of Seville. Our morning will begin with a guided tour, where we will visit the iconic Seville Cathedral and its famous Giralda bell tower. As the day unfolds, we will also explore the charming neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana, as well as the banks of the Guadalquivir River, providing a glimpse of Seville's captivating culture and history.Following the tour, you can enjoy a leisurely boat ride along the Guadalquivir River, offering spectacular panoramic views of the citythis experience is included in your itinerary. In the evening, you can choose to immerse yourself in the passionate rhythms of Spanish culture by attending an optional flamenco show at a local tablao. Enjoy the day as you soak up the unique atmosphere of Seville.
Day 10 - Seville - Merida - Evora - Lisbon
On our tenth day, we bid farewell to Seville and set off through the enchanting landscapes of rolling hills and vast pasturelands as we venture into Extremadura. Our journey takes us to Mrida, a city celebrated for its Archaeological Ensemble, which includes a remarkably well-preserved Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre, both recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Here, you will have time to enjoy a leisurely lunch and perhaps take a stroll through the historic pedestrianised centre, renowned for its lively atmosphere and delightful dining options.Later, we cross into Portugal, making our way to vora, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. This charming city is famed for its whitewashed streets, Renaissance palaces, and imposing cathedral. As the evening draws in, we continue our journey to Lisbon, where we will arrive later in the day.
Day 11 - Lisbon
Today, we delve into the captivating sights of Lisbon, often known as the city of the seven hills, defined by its quaint alleyways, azulejos (iconic tiles), and unique "saudade" atmosphere. Our exploration of the Portuguese capital includes a tour of the historic Belem neighbourhood, a pivotal location from which intrepid Portuguese explorers embarked on their 15th-century oceanic voyages. The afternoon is yours to discover at leisure; perhaps wander through the vibrant Bairro Alto and enjoy its breathtaking views, or if you fancy, theres an optional excursion to the picturesque towns of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. In the evening, we'll regroup at the lively Restauradores Square, brimming with bars and cafes, and return to our hotel for the night.
Day 12 - Lisbon
