Day 1 - Casablanca
Welcome to Morocco! Upon your arrival at the airport, we'll arrange your transfer to the hotel. At the close of the day, our guide will get in touch to ensure you are well-settled. Dinner is included, allowing you to relax and savour your first night in Casablanca. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Casablanca - Marrakech
On day two, we delve into the vibrant heart of Casablanca, Morocco's largest city and bustling economic hub. Our guided tour introduces you to the city's grand avenues, the verdant Arab League Park, and the striking Mohamed V Square, adorned with its charming fountain, Moorish architecture, and swaying palm trees. We will also wander through the quaint paths of the little Medina. A highlight of our tour is the awe-inspiring Hassan II Mosque the only mosque in Morocco open to non-Muslims perched by the Atlantic Ocean, its towering 210-metre minaret reaching skywards. After a morning of exploration, you'll have some leisure time to enjoy lunch along the lovely coastal stretch of La Corniche. Afterwards, we journey to the historic city of Marrakech. Upon settling into your hotel, you might choose to indulge in a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride to the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square. Dinner will be provided at the hotel, rounding off a day rich in culture and discovery.
Day 3 - Marrakech
Today, we delve into the enchanting city of Marrakech, a place renowned for its vibrant culture and rich history. Our exploration begins with a guided tour of the citys remarkable landmarks. We will pass through its mighty walls and visit the lively Jemaa el-Fnaa square, a hive of activity and local life. Our journey continues to the historic Medina and the Koutoubia Mosque, known for its impressive minaret, before we explore the exquisite Bahia Palace, where entry is included. After the mornings discoveries, you'll have free time to enjoy an included lunch and unwind at the hotel by the pool or garden, or perhaps venture out to explore the bustling souks, where a myriad of colourful stalls await. As evening draws in, you may choose to join an optional Fantasy Party, offering a unique cultural experience.
Day 4 - Marrakech - Ait Benhadou - Ouarzazate - Boumalne Dades
Today, we embark on a captivating journey through Morocco's diverse landscapes. Departing from Marrakech, we cross the majestic Atlas Mountains, taking in stunning views as we bid farewell to the citys palm groves. Along the way, you'll notice quaint Berber villages nestled in deep gorges. Our route includes a stop at Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous as a backdrop in many films. As we continue through scenery reminiscent of biblical times, we arrive in Ouarzazate, renowned for its striking Kasbah. Our adventure continues through the picturesque Valley of Roses, leading us to Boumalne Dades where a delicious dinner awaits. Please note, during winter months, snow can sometimes close roads, necessitating alterations to our planned route. Access to the Sahara Desert will depend on current road conditions.
Day 5 - Boumalne Dades - Todgha - Erfoud
Today, we embark on an exciting adventure through the Sahara Desert. Our journey takes us through the Valley of the Kasbahs, a landscape adorned with countless palm trees, rugged plains, vibrant oases, and traditional adobe villages. We'll admire the formidable fortresses that have historically guarded these ancient routes. A highlight of the day is our visit to the stunning Todgha Gorge, a breathtaking canyon where walls soar over 100 metres on either side. Along the way, we stop in a small adobe town near Khorbat, where you can learn about the local desert community. Please note that access may be influenced by weather conditions, such as river flooding. We continue our journey to Erfoud, where you have the option to partake in an off-road excursion to the Sahara sand dunes, promising an unforgettable sunset experience. Lunch is included.
Day 6 - Erfoud - Fez
On Day 6, we'll set off early from Erfoud, heading towards Fez. Our route takes us through the dramatic scenery of the Atlas Mountains, known for their awe-inspiring gorges and breathtaking vistas. As we ascend to a higher, cooler plateau, we'll encounter nomadic shepherds tending to their flocks. Our journey includes a brief pause in Midelta bustling market town celebrated for its agricultural produce.Continuing onwards, we'll stop for lunch, which is included, amidst the serene backdrop of the Middle Atlas, near a picturesque lake. The landscape transforms as we enter a forest-rich area where snow is often seen during winter months. Close to Azrou, we will visit the "House of Cedars" in a national park, a small museum offering insights into the region's ecology and culture. Here, you'll have the opportunity to observe lively monkey colonies in their natural habitat.Our next stop is Bhalil, a charming and tranquil village in the Middle Atlas, known for its colourful historic quarter. Traditionally, this settlement featured cave dwellings integrated into the living structures. We'll conclude our day in Fez. Before settling into our hotel for the evening, well admire a panoramic view of the ancient city from the Marinid Tombs. Dinner will be provided.
Day 7 - Fez - Tangier
Today in Fez, well embark on an exploration of this cultural heart of Morocco, beginning with the striking Bronze Gates of the Royal Palace. Our journey will take us through the atmospheric Jewish quarter, the bustling souks, and the vibrant Tanners' Quarter. Fez is famed for its remarkable Medina, a unique place that retains the authentic Arab atmosphere like no other. Well round off our visit with lunch at a historic palace nestled within the Medina, offering a taste of local hospitality and flavours. In the afternoon, well travel north along a modern highway, reaching the coastal city of Tangier by evening. Dinner will be provided upon arrival.
Day 8 - Tangier - Seville
Enjoy some leisure time in Tangier to perhaps indulge in a spot of last-minute shopping. Soon after, we will board a ferry for our journey back to Spain. Please note that the bus will not be accompanying us, so you will need to manage your own luggage while on the ferry. Upon arrival in either Algeciras or Tarifa, we will continue our journey to Seville. We expect to arrive in the evening, where a delightful dinner will be prepared for your enjoyment.
Day 9 - Seville
In the morning, we'll set off on an exploration of Seville, a city rich in history and vibrant culture. Our tour will take us to the renowned Seville Cathedral, home to the iconic Giralda tower, a symbol of the city. We'll stroll along the banks of the Guadalquivir River, offering scenic views, and delve into the charming neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana, known for their narrow streets and lively atmosphere. Following the tour, relax on an included boat ride along the Guadalquivir River, where you'll enjoy stunning panoramic views of the cityscape. As evening approaches, you may choose to immerse yourself in the local culture with an optional visit to a well-known flamenco tablao, experiencing the passionate music and dance that are the heart of Andalusian tradition.
Day 10 - Seville - Cordoba - Consuegra - Madrid
Our journey continues as we depart Seville, travelling through the Guadalquivir Valley to reach Crdoba, historically significant for its role as the capital of the Caliphate of Crdoba. Here, youll be guided through the magnificent Mosque-Cathedral a quintessential example of medieval Islamic architecture with tickets included in the visit. Well meander through the enchanting Jewish Quarter, admired for its narrow lanes and vibrant, flower-adorned patios that capture the citys essence. Following a leisurely lunch, we head towards Castile, stopping in Consuegra. Here, youll find 12 colossal windmills standing sentinel beside a castle, overlooking the expansive plains of La Mancha, famously described by Cervantes in Don Quixote. Youll visit the Rucio Mill for a closer look. As the day concludes, we travel onwards to Madrid.
Day 11 - Madrid
With breakfast enjoyed, the formal end of our journey has arrived, leaving you with cherished memories of your travels.
