We take a two-hour boat tour through the mangrove estuary, offering excellent opportunities to spot flamingos, crocodiles, and diverse wildlife. The excursion includes visits to feeding grounds, a Maya mud bath featuring mineral-rich white mud, and a swim in the saline lagoon waters. Afterwards, we stop at a nearby cenote a natural sinkhole for a refreshing swim before continuing to Valladolid. Upon arrival at the hotel, you have time to freshen up before joining us on a walking tour of the city. Valladolid is rich in Maya heritage and colonial history, which you will discover as we stroll through its charming streets, tracing its story from pre-Hispanic times to today. We stay overnight in Valladolid.

After breakfast, we depart for Chichn Itz, one of the most significant Maya archaeological sites. Explore this ancient city reclaimed from the jungle and learn about its remarkable history. See the Temple of Kukulkn, also known as El Castillo, which symbolises the Maya calendar and features an impressive optical illusion of a serpent during the equinoxes. Visit the Great Ball Court, the Skull Platform, the Sacred Cenote, and other well-preserved structures including the Temple of the Warriors, the Ossuary, the Nunnery with its adjacent church, and the observatory called the Snail. Later, we continue to the town of Izamal, where pre-Hispanic ruins blend with colonial architecture. Visit the Convent of St. Anthony of Padua, built atop a former Maya pyramid.
