Itinerary
Day 1 - Mexico City
Upon arrival at Mexico City International Airport, our tour representative will welcome you and assist with your shared transfer to the hotel. After checking in, the rest of the day is yours to spend at leisure. You may wish to begin exploring the citys vibrant atmosphere or simply relax at the hotel and make use of its facilities. Be sure to rest well tonight, as your adventure officially begins tomorrow. Overnight in Mexico City.
Day 2 - Mexico City
After breakfast, we meet you at the hotel at 8.00 am to begin your guided tour of Mexico Citys historic heart. Our first stop is the Zcalo the citys main square where youll see the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace, key landmarks that reflect the citys colonial and political history. Next, we visit the National Anthropology Museum, home to an extraordinary collection of artifacts spanning some 35,000 years. On our guided tour, youll explore eleven exhibition halls showcasing diverse eras and ancient civilisations. Highlights include the Aztec Sun Stone, Olmec sculptures, Mayan murals and scale models of pre-colonial cities, offering insight into the architectural achievements of these cultures. After the museum visit, we return to the hotel to rest. In the evening, enjoy dinner at Bellinis, an adults-only venue known for its panoramic city views. Overnight in Mexico City.
Day 3 - Mexico City - Teotihuacan - Mexico City
After breakfast at the hotel, we set out to explore the well-preserved ruins of Teotihuacan, an ancient city whose influence shaped later civilizations such as the Aztecs. Wander along the Avenue of the Dead towards the imposing Pyramid of the Sun, one of the largest of its kind in the world, and appreciate the vast scale of this 2,000-year-old site. You will have time to explore independently and climb one of the colossal pyramids to enjoy panoramic views over the archaeological complex. On the return to Mexico City, we stop at the renowned shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe to visit both the old and new basilicas. Once back at the hotel, the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore at leisure.
Day 4 - Ciudad de Mxico - Tuxtla Gutirrez - San Cristbal de las Casas
After breakfast, we transfer you to Mexico City Airport for your flight to Tuxtla Gutirrez (airfare not included). You should arrive at Tuxtla Gutirrez Airport by 1pm at the latest, where a tour representative will meet you before taking you to Sumidero Canyon. This impressive natural gorge, carved over millions of years by the Ro Grijalva, is one of the countrys most remarkable landscapes. During a two-hour boat tour along the canyons depths, youll witness the towering cliffs covered in lush vegetation and may spot wildlife including crocodiles, monkeys and a variety of birds. After the boat trip, we continue to San Cristbal de las Casas, arriving late afternoon to check into your hotel. The evening is yours to relax or explore this charming town at your leisure. Day 5 - San Cristbal de las Casas - San Juan Chamula - Zinacantn - San Cristbal de las Casas
After breakfast, we drive to San Juan Chamula, known for its distinctive whitewashed church with colourful decorations and an interior scented with pine and lit by candles. Here, you can observe traditional religious ceremonies still performed by the predominantly Tzotzil Maya community. The locals speak their own language and wear distinctive attiremen in tunics called 'chujes' and women in blouses known as 'huipils'. Chamula is also noted for its skilled weavers, and the markets offer a wide range of handcrafted textiles. Returning to San Cristbal de las Casas, we give you the afternoon at leisure. You might wish to visit the baroque Santo Domingo church, explore its vibrant art and food markets, or simply wander the town streets to appreciate the rich Maya culture evident in the clothing and crafts. Overnight in San Cristbal de las Casas.
Day 6 - Palenque
We will collect you from your hotel early this morning to begin the journey to Palenque. Breakfast will be served en route as we travel north-east towards some of Chiapas most stunning waterfalls. Be sure to bring your swimsuit, as youll have the chance to swim in a natural pool with strikingly blue water. This area offers a refreshing opportunity to relax and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. After some time at the waterfalls, we continue onwards to Palenque, arriving in the afternoon. Once there, you can check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 7 - Palenque - Campeche
After breakfast, we visit the archaeological site of Palenque, renowned for its exceptional examples of Mayan architecture, including intricate sculptures, roof combs and bas-relief carvings. Our guided tour highlights key structures such as the Temple of the Inscriptions, which rises nearly 23 metres and houses the tomb of a notable Maya ruler uncovered in the 1950s. Palenque once covered almost 60 square kilometres, yet only a fraction has been excavated to date, revealing over 200 structures including the Palace, Temple of the Count and Temple of the Cross. After exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site, we continue to Campeche, where you check in to your hotel for the evening.
Day 8 - Campeche - Mrida
After breakfast, we take a panoramic tour of Campeche, a historic coastal city known for its charming colonial houses, arcades and churches. We drive through the heart of the old town before exploring on foot, visiting highlights such as the old city walls and St Francis Cathedral. Leaving Campeche behind, we continue to the impressive archaeological site of Uxmal. Approaching through the jungle canopy, we enjoy a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, noted for its well-preserved structures including the 35-metre Pyramid of the Magician, the Nunnery Quadrangle and the Governors Palace with its intricate faades. We then travel to the beautiful colonial city of Mrida, where we take a panoramic tour of key sites including the residential area, the monument to the homeland and Montejo Avenue. Overnight in Mrida.
Day 9 - Mrida - Cuzama - Mrida
After breakfast at the hotel, we will set off for Cenotes de Cuzama (Santa Barbara) to explore three of the Yucatn Peninsulas most stunning cenotes. These natural sinkholes form part of the extraordinary Cenote Ring, a semicircular cluster of over 100 cenotes believed to mark the site of a massive asteroid impact 65 million years agoan event that profoundly shaped the regions geology and life. At the cenotes, we will discuss the impacts significance, the unique ecosystem, and the vital role cenotes played in Maya civilisation. You will have the chance to swim, and if you wish, snorkel in the clear, cool waters of these remarkable natural formations. After the visit, there will be time for lunch before we return to Mrida for an overnight stay.
Day 10 - Mrida - Chichn-Itz
After breakfast, we depart for the heart of the Yucatn rainforest to visit the legendary Maya city of Chichn Itz, recognised as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Explore the site with your guide, learning about the Maya civilisation as you take in its scale and architectural precision. Admire the 25-metre Temple of Kukulkan known as El Castillo notable for its alignment with the Maya calendar and the serpent shadow illusion during the equinoxes. Visit the Great Ball Court, the largest uncovered at the site, the Skull Platform linked to ritual sacrifices, and the Sacred Cenote, historically used for offerings. After the tour, enjoy lunch at a traditional local restaurant before continuing to your hotel in Pist, near Chichn Itz, where you will spend the night.
Day 11 - Tulum
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to the Maya Train station to continue our journey to Tulum. Board the modern Tren Maya and relax as we travel through the varied landscapes of the Yucatn Peninsula. Youll see dense jungle giving way to open plains and colourful small towns, offering a window into local life and the regions natural beauty. The train provides a comfortable and efficient way to travel, reflecting Mexicos focus on sustainable tourism and cultural connection. Upon arrival in Tulum, disembark and transfer to your hotel. After checking in, enjoy the afternoon at your leisurewhether you choose to unwind in the hotels peaceful setting or soak up the relaxed, bohemian atmosphere of Tulum itself.
Day 12 - Tulum
Today is a full day at leisure in Tulum. You might choose to relax on the beach, swim in the clear Caribbean waters, or explore the towns laid-back charm. For those interested in history and nature, we suggest visiting Parque El Jaguar, where the remarkable Tulum archaeological site is located. Perched on a cliff overlooking the sea, these ruins provide insight into the ancient Mayan civilisation, while the surrounding trails offer a chance to appreciate the local jungle environment. Day 13 - Tulum - Cancun
After breakfast, check out of your hotel and transfer to Cancun Airport for your departure flight.
