Day 1 - Ciudad de Mxico
Upon arrival at Mexico City International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred by shared shuttle to your chosen hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and settle intake advantage of the hotels amenities or explore the nearby surroundings at your leisure. Please note that the order of activities may vary depending on your arrival day to ensure all planned experiences are available. Overnight stay in Mexico City.
Day 2 - Ciudad de Mxico
After breakfast, we will meet you at the hotel at 9 am to begin a guided tour of Mexico Citys historic centre. We explore the Zcalo, the citys main square, followed by visits to the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace, home to Diego Riveras renowned murals (please note the National Palace is closed on Mondays). Next, we visit the National Museum of Anthropology, which preserves Mexicos indigenous heritage and remains a key cultural institution since its opening nearly fifty years ago (also closed on Mondays). After the museum visit, you may return to the hotel or choose to spend more time exploring the museum and nearby dining options; the return is at your own pace. In the evening, enjoy dinner at Bellini, Mexico Citys only revolving restaurant, where you will savour traditional Mexican and international dishes alongside a local drink, all while taking in panoramic views of the citys night skyline. Afterwards, we visit Plaza Garibaldi, a lively hub famous for mariachi music and traditional dance, where you can enjoy a traditional drink included in the experience. We then return to the hotel for the night.
Day 3 - Ciudad de Mxico
We begin the day with a colourful and traditional full-day tour through some of Mexico Citys most captivating areas. En route to Xochimilco, we travel along Insurgentes Avenue the worlds fourth longest street passing notable landmarks such as Mexicos largest bullring, the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and the 1968 Olympic Stadium. Upon arrival at the tranquil canals of Xochimilco, we board a traditional trajinera, a pre-Hispanic boat, for a scenic cruise through this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once a pre-Columbian city on the shores of Lake Xochimilco, the area is famed for its floating gardens and vibrant atmosphere. You may be accompanied by live mariachi bands, available to hire, playing classic Mexican tunes. During the cruise, you can purchase typical dishes and drinks from other trajineras to enjoy lunch on board. Later, we visit Coyoacn, known as the cultural heart of Mexico City, where 16th-century mansions and the Church of San Bautista reflect its rich heritage. We also explore the Frida Kahlo Museum, or The Blue House, offering insight into the life and work of this iconic Latin American artist. We return to the hotel in Mexico City for the night.
Day 4 - Mexico City - Teotihuacan - Mexico City - Ciudad de Mxico
After breakfast, we will collect you from the hotel lobby at around 9.30 am for a seven-hour tour exploring two significant ceremonial sites that reflect Mexicos religious heritage. We begin at Plaza de las Tres Culturas, the former location of Tlatelolcothe largest pre-Columbian marketwhere you can take in panoramic views of the esplanade and archaeological remains. Next, we visit the Basilica of Guadalupe, Mexicos largest religious sanctuary, home to the revered image of the Virgin of Guadalupe. You will have time to explore both the atrium and the basilicas interior. Afterwards, we continue to Teotihuacan, an ancient city known as the place where the gods are made, with over 2,500 years of history. Before entering the archaeological site, we will explain its origins in textile production and obsidian trade. Inside, we explore key structures including the temples of Quetzalpapalotl and the Feathered Snails, the Pyramid of the Moon, the Citadel, the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, and finally the impressive Pyramid of the Sun. There will be a break for lunch at a local restaurant (not included) before returning to your hotel at approximately 4.30 pm. Overnight in Mexico City.
Day 5 - Ciudad de Mxico
Begin your final day with breakfast at the hotel. Afterward, check out and take the transfer to Mexico City International Airport for your departure flight home.
