Day 1 - Mexico City
Arrive in vibrant Mexico City as we greet you with a warm welcome. You will be transferred to your hotel, where the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Take this opportunity to relax or start exploring this dynamic city, brimming with culture and history. Later in the afternoon, our guide will be in touch to offer assistance and answer any questions to help you make the most of your stay. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Mexico City
Today promises an exciting exploration of Mexico City. We embark on a sightseeing tour that introduces us to the city's vibrant atmosphere. Our journey begins at the Plaza of Three Cultures, showcasing the unique blend of pre-Hispanic, colonial, and modern influences. We then proceed to the historic centre, where the Zcalo, Mexico City's main square, is located. Here, you will see the impressive Metropolitan Cathedral and the remains of the ancient Aztec temple. Our tour continues with a drive through Chapultepec Park and down the magnificent Paseo de la Reforma Avenue, as well as other important city thoroughfares.Following our city tour, we visit the Basilica of Guadalupe, the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the Americas. You will have the opportunity to explore both the 18th-century old basilica and the adjoining modern temple, where the revered image of the Virgin of Guadalupe is displayed.In the afternoon, we make our way to the captivating neighbourhood of Xochimilco. Famous for its network of canals and floating gardens, we take a ride on a traditional, flower-adorned boat called a "trajinera." As the day winds down, we head to Plaza de Garibaldi, a lively area filled with numerous bars and restaurants. Here, you can enjoy local specialities like tacos and tequila, accompanied by live mariachi music. Dinner is included at a traditional restaurant, ensuring a delightful end to an enriching day.
Day 3 - Mexico City - El oro de hidalgo - Mine two star - Tlalpujahua - Patzcuaro
Our day begins with a visit to El Oro de Hidalgo, a delightful Pueblo Mgico once renowned as a major mining hub in Mexico. This town, with its gold and silver mines, historically drew investors and workers from around the globe. Today, you can admire its European-style architecture, including the charming old train station and the Teatro Jurez. Well then explore the surrounding landscape of hills and forests, renowned as the winter refuge for migrating monarch butterflies, and visit the Mina de las Dos Estrellas. This mine, now a museum, offers intriguing insights into the region's rich mining history and cultural heritage.Our journey continues to Tlalpujahua, another captivating Pueblo Mgico in Michoacn, distinguished by its splendid Baroque sanctuary and quaint cobblestone streets. Tlalpujahua is renowned for its artisanal Christmas decorations, with many shops featuring festive displays and the unexpected sight of Santa Claus figures. Here, youll have free time to leisurely explore and enjoy lunch.In the afternoon, we head to Ptzcuaro, celebrated as one of Mexicos most beautiful colonial cities with its pre-Hispanic roots. Known for its stunning colonial architecture, vibrant artisan markets, and singular ambiance, Ptzcuaro promises an unforgettable experience.
Day 4 - Patzcuaro - Morelia - Cuitzeo del porvenir - Guadalajara
Today, we depart for Morelia, the capital of Michoacn and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its stunning pink stone architecture. Here, youll find the historical heart of the city, complete with its impressive Cathedral, Plaza de Armas, and the university, which dates back to 1540. Youll have free time to wander through the streets and savour lunch at your leisure. Our journey continues to Cuitzeo del Porvenir, situated beside Mexico's second-largest lake. In this charming town, you can visit the exquisite Ex-Convent of Santa Mara Magdalena, an architectural marvel in the Plateresque style from the 16th century, and enjoy a stroll along its quaint cobblestone streets, where history whispers from every corner. Finally, we reach Guadalajara in the evening, the capital of Jalisco, a city bursting with life and famed for being the cradle of Mariachi music and Tequila.
Day 5 - Guadalajara
Today, we set out to experience the rich tapestry of Guadalajara, a city where modernity gracefully mingles with colonial history. Our day begins with a guided exploration of the city's architectural gems, including the opulent cathedral and the bustling Tapata Square. A visit to the renowned Cabaas Hospice, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a closer look at its impressive murals and history.Following our morning tour, we embark on a journey to the nearby town of Tequila. Here, we delve into the world of Mexico's iconic spirit at the MUNDO CUERVO distillery. You'll have the opportunity to witness the fascinating process of tequila production and enjoy a tasting session to savour its unique flavours.Afterwards, there's time to wander through the charming streets of Tequila and enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of its inviting local eateries. With the afternoon drawing to a close, we make our way back to Guadalajara, reflecting on a day filled with cultural insights and vibrant experiences.
Day 6 - Guadalajara - Mexico City
After enjoying breakfast, we will provide a transfer to the bus station for your return to Mexico City. You'll travel on a regular luxury coach, with the journey taking just over six and a half hours. We expect to arrive in the vibrant city around 4 p.m. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel, where you'll check in and settle into your accommodation.
Day 7 - Mexico City
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast to conclude your journey. As our services draw to a close, please note that transfers from the hotel to the airport are not included.
