Day 1 - Mexico City
Upon your arrival in Mexico City, you'll be transferred to your hotel, where you'll have some free time to unwind after your journey. Later in the afternoon, our guide will reach out to you with more information about the upcoming adventures. This initial day offers a gentle introduction to the vibrant spirit of Mexico, setting the stage for an engaging exploration ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Mexico City
Today promises an exciting exploration of Mexico City. We will embark on a comprehensive sightseeing tour, starting with the Plaza of Three Cultures, a site rich in history where Aztec, colonial Spanish, and modern Mexican elements converge. Our journey continues through the historic centre, where you'll marvel at the Zcalo and its grand Metropolitan Cathedral as well as the impressive main Aztec temple. We'll also visit Chapultepec Park and journey along the famous Paseo de la Reforma Avenue and other significant thoroughfares, showcasing the grandeur of this vibrant metropolis.Later, we will head to the Basilica of Guadalupe, the most visited Catholic site in the Americas, where the revered Virgin of Guadalupe resides. Here, you'll have the opportunity to explore the historical 18th-century basilica alongside the striking modern temple.In the afternoon, we'll visit Xochimilco, a charming district known for its network of canals and semi-floating gardens. We have arranged a ride on a "trajinera," a traditional flower-adorned boat, allowing you to fully enjoy the unique scenery.The day concludes with a transfer to the lively Plaza de Garibaldi, famed for its lively bars and restaurants offering tacos, tequila, and the unforgettable sound of Mariachi music. Dinner will be provided in a traditional restaurant, capping off a culturally enriching day in Mexico City.
Day 3 - Mexico City - El oro de hidalgo - Mine two star - Tlalpujahua - Patzcuaro
Our journey today takes us to El Oro de Hidalgo, once a major hub for mining in Mexico and now a delightful Pueblo Mgico. This charming town, known for its European-style architecture influenced by investors and workers from around the world, boasts attractions like the old train station and Teatro Jurez. We continue through a landscape of hills and forests, famed for hosting monarch butterflies during their winter migration, to visit Mina de las Dos Estrellas. This fascinating former mine is now a museum showcasing the regions rich mining heritage.Next, we venture to Tlalpujahua, another enchanting Pueblo Mgico in Michoacn. This town is renowned for its magnificent Baroque sanctuary, cobblestone streets, and famous handcrafted Christmas decorations. You might be surprised to find Santa Claus figures in many of the local shops. Well take some free time here for you to wander and enjoy lunch at your leisure.Our day concludes in Ptzcuaro, celebrated as one of Mexicos most beautiful colonial cities, highlighting both pre-Hispanic and colonial influences. With its captivating architecture, vibrant artisan markets, and distinctive atmosphere, Ptzcuaro promises to be an unforgettable experience.
Day 4 - Patzcuaro - Morelia - Cuitzeo del porvenir - Mexico City
Today, we will set off for Morelia, the capital of Michoacn and a city celebrated for its striking pink stone buildings and charming historic centre. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Morelia offers much to admire, from the grandeur of its Cathedral to the bustling Plaza de Armas and the university which dates back to 1540. You'll have the opportunity to explore the city at your leisure and savour some local cuisine during lunch.Our adventure continues as we journey to Cuitzeo del Porvenir, situated on the shores of Mexico's second-largest lake. Here, you can explore the exquisite Ex-Convent of Santa Mara Magdalena, a masterpiece of 16th-century Plateresque design. Meandering through the town's cobbled streets, you will encounter fascinating historic structures. As evening falls, we'll make our way back to Mexico City, with an expected arrival at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Day 5 - Mexico City
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we conclude our journey in Mexico. Today, it's time to prepare for departure. Please note that while we do not include the airport transfer, we recommend arranging your transportation to ensure a smooth departure from the hotel.
