Day 1 - Tuxtla Gutirrez - San Cristobal - San Cristbal de las Casas
On arrival at Tuxtla Gutirrez International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Sumidero Canyon, one of Mexicos most remarkable natural wonders. To join the two-hour boat tour through the canyon, please ensure your flight arrives no later than 1:00 pm. The boat trip takes you along the impressive canyon floor, where towering walls covered in dense vegetation surround you. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including crocodiles, monkeys and a variety of bird species, as well as the rich flora of the rainforest. After the boat excursion, we continue to San Cristbal de las Casas, where you will be dropped off at your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - San Cristobal - San Juan Chamula - Zinacantn - San Cristobal - San Cristbal de las Casas
After breakfast, we collect you from your hotel to visit the indigenous villages of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantn, both home to the Tzotzil Maya people. In San Juan Chamula, explore the whitewashed cathedral adorned with colourful decorations and filled with the scent of pine and flickering candlelight, creating a distinctive spiritual atmosphere. In Zinacantn, sample a traditional regional drink and discover ancient weaving techniques using loom waste that date back to pre-Columbian times. You will also have the chance to taste handmade tortillas. Returning to San Cristbal de las Casas, we take you on a city tour to see its historic sites and admire the fine examples of colonial architecture. The afternoon is then yours to relax or explore independently. Overnight in San Cristbal de las Casas.
Day 3 - San Cristobal - Palenque
We leave San Cristbal de las Casas early this morning and travel towards Palenque. Along the way, we stop at Agua Azul to enjoy a refreshing swim in its stunning waterfalls, formed by the Otuln, Shumulj and Tulij rivers carving through dramatic canyons with steep cliffs. Next, we visit the impressive Misol-Ha Waterfalls, which plunge 30 metres into a lush tropical rainforest, offering a cool and tranquil setting. After these natural highlights, we continue to Palenque, where you check into your hotel and have the remainder of the day at your leisure.
Day 4 - Palenque - Villahermosa
After breakfast at your hotel in Palenque, we visit the renowned archaeological site nearby, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its remarkable Mayan architecture and sculptures. We explore key structures including The Palace, The Temple of the Foliated Cross, The Temple of the Sun, and other significant ruins that showcase the citys historical importance. Following the tour, we transfer to Villahermosa Airport, aiming to arrive by approximately 5:00 pmplease ensure your onward flight is scheduled accordingly.
