Into The Rift Valley

On arrival at Nairobi International Airport, we meet you and guide you to your shuttle transfer to the Hilton Garden Inn Airport Hotel or similar. The afternoon is at leisure you can relax and make use of the hotels facilities. Overnight in Nairobi.

After breakfast, we leave Nairobi for Kenyas fertile highlands, descending the Rift Escarpment on a road built by Italian prisoners during the Second World War look out for the small chapel at the foot of the escarpment. We pass the futuristic Longonot earth satellite station, cross the valley to Narok and continue through fields of wheat and barley. We arrive at the Maasai Mara and Sentrim Mara Camp in time for lunch. This afternoon we head out on our first game drive, returning to the lodge at sunset. Sentrim Mara Camp just three kilometres from the Sekenani gate is an ideal base, with rustic tents set among acacia trees, modern en suite bathrooms, hot showers and elevated private balconies for far?reaching views. The pool also overlooks the surrounding landscape. Dinner is served at the camp. Overnight in the Maasai Mara.

After an early breakfast, we head out on a morning game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve home to the Big Five of lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and black rhino alongside herds of antelope, gazelle and wildebeest. We return to the lodge for lunch, and you can rest or take a short siesta before we set off on an afternoon game drive and a visit to a Maasai village. We arrive back at the lodge at sunset for dinner. Overnight in the Maasai Mara.

After breakfast, we leave the Maasai Mara and travel north through Kenyas agricultural heartland towards Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. We cross the vast floor of the Great Rift Valley and climb the Mau Escarpment watch for herds of giraffe and gazelle on the plains arriving at Lake Elementaita around midday. After lunch at Sentrim Elementaita Lodge, we head out on an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, where the shores often glow pink with thousands of flamingos. This fully fenced 188 square kilometre park protects both black and white rhino now numbering more than 50 and is also home to the rare Rothschilds giraffe, along with buffalo, leopard, zebra, eland, waterbuck and lion.We return to Sentrim Elementaita Lodge set on the shores of flamingo and pelicanfringed Lake Elementaita and overlooking the lake and its surrounding national park to relax before dinner. Overnight in Lake Elementaita.

Following an early breakfast, we travel to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride, then leave the Rift Valley for Nairobi, arriving in the late morning. Lunch is included on arrival.We will drop you at the airport or at the Panari Hotel at approximately 13:30 please arrange your onward travel accordingly and book flights departing from 16:30 onwards.
