Day 1 - Nairobi
On arrival in Nairobi, well transfer you to your hotel just minutes from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Wilson Airport, and close to the central business district. Settle in and make the most of the hotels facilities.Your afternoon is at leisure you can relax after your flight or explore nearby at your own pace. Overnight in Nairobi.
Day 2 - Nairobi - Serena
After breakfast in Nairobi, we drive towards the fertile highlands and descend the Rift Escarpment along a road built by Italian prisoners during the Second World War keep an eye out for the small chapel they constructed at its foot. Crossing the valley to Narok, we pass the Longonot earth satellite station and continue through vast fields of wheat and barley before reaching the Maasai Mara and Keekorok Lodge in time for lunch. Later, we head out on our first game drive. Keekorok sits directly on the route of the annual migration, and during its peak the lodge is often surrounded by wildlife. Back at the lodge, you can stroll along a 300 metres long elevated walkway through a small riverine forest to a bar overlooking a dam where resident hippos and other animals are regularly seen. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight in Maasai Mara.
Day 3 - Serena
After an early breakfast, we visit a Maasai village before setting out on a morning game drive in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. This iconic reserve supports abundant wildlife, including the Big Five lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and black rhinos along with antelopes, gazelles and wildebeest. We return to the lodge for lunch, and you can rest or make use of the facilities, before we head back out for an afternoon game drive, returning as the sun sets. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight in the Maasai Mara.
Day 4 - Nakuru
After breakfast, we leave the Maasai Mara and travel north across Kenyas agricultural heartland towards Narok. We cross the vast plains of the Great Rift Valley and climb the Mau Escarpment, looking for giraffes and gazelles en route, before arriving at Lake Nakuru around midday. Its waters often appear pink from the thousands of flamingos along the shore. After lunch, we set out on an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park a fully fenced 188squarekilometre reserve that carefully protects both black and white rhino. The rare Rothschilds giraffe is another highlight here, alongside buffalo, leopards, zebras, elands, waterbucks and lions. Lush gardens surround the lodge and cottages, and there is a programme of activities and evening entertainment. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight at Lake Nakuru.
Day 5 - Ol Tukai
After an early breakfast, we drive south to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride. Set high in the Rift Valley, the lake shelters hundreds of bird species and hippos. We then continue towards Nairobi for a picnic lunch, before heading south to Amboseli National Park and arriving at Ol Tukai Lodge by late afternoon.Set in the heart of the park at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro Africa's highest mountain this area is considered one of the best for viewing elephants at close range. Ol Tukai Lodge offers cottage style accommodation built with wood, local stone and slate, with rooms looking out to the wetlands or Kilimanjaro. There is also a relaxing swimming pool shaped like a number eight with plenty of sun loungers. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight at Amboseli.
Day 6 - Ol Tukai
After breakfast, we spend the day on game drives in Amboseli National Park, exploring its dry lake bed, fragile grasslands and patches of acacia woodland. Wildlife is diverse here look out for rhinos, giraffes, gazelles, lions, cheetahs and leopards and birdlife thrives around the swamps. All of this unfolds beneath Mount Kilimanjaro, which rises some 5,000 metres above the park. We return to the lodge as the sun sets. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight at Amboseli.
Day 7 - Babati Rural
After an early breakfast, we depart Amboseli with final views of Mount Kilimanjaro and travel by road via the Namanga border to Arusha for lunch. We then continue through the highlands and the Karatu district passing wheat fields and coffee plantations and descending a dramatic escarpment to Tarangire National Park, enjoying a game drive en route, and arrive at Tarangire Sopa Lodge for dinner. Tarangire is known for one of the greatest concentrations of elephants in Africa, along with zebras and lions, and more than 550 bird species. The lodge sits among ancient baobabs and kopjes, and its broad veranda overlooks a waterhole below that fills during the dry season and attracts plentiful wildlife. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight at Tarangire.
Day 8 - Manyara
We start with a morning game drive in Tarangire, then return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon we continue by road to Lake Manyara National Park, arriving at our lodge on the Rift Valley escarpment for dinner and overnight.The lodge sits on the cliff edge with sweeping views over Lake Manyara. Accommodation is in two?storey thatched rondavels set along the rim, and facilities include an infinity pool reached via a small bridge over a stream, plus a central dining room, bar and veranda all positioned to overlook the lake, the pool and the observation point. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight at Lake Manyara.
Day 9 - Robanda
After breakfast at Lake Manyara, we head out on a morning game drive. The park is renowned for prolific birdlife notably flamingos in the wet season and excellent large mammal viewing in the dry season, with the chance to see tree climbing lions, large tusked elephants and one and a half tonne hippos. We return to the lodge for lunch, then travel north west across the highland countryside skirting the northern reaches of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. As the land opens to the vast Serengeti plains, we often start spotting wildlife even before entering the park. On arrival, we settle into Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge near the Western Corridor and the Grumeti River a property designed to blend into the landscape, with rondavels shaded by acacia groves and fed by clear streams. An infinity pool at the ridge edge looks out over the endless plains that give the Serengeti its name. Dinner is at the lodge. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight in the Serengeti.
Day 10 - Serengeti
We spend a full day exploring the Serengeti on morning and afternoon game drives, crossing open plains, riverine forest and woodland, granite outcrops known as kopjes, and volcanic backdrops. The park is renowned for the Great Migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle, and with luck we may encounter the Big Five and perhaps the Little Five: antlion, rhino beetle, elephant shrew, buffalo weaver and leopard tortoise. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight in the Serengeti.
Day 11 - Ilturot Lorkereyan
After breakfast we drive from the Serengeti towards Ngorongoro Crater, pausing en route for a picnic lunch and wildlife viewing across the plains. We continue to Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, set high on the crater rim and designed to blend into the landscape. Inspired by nearby Olduvai Gorge often called the Cradle of Mankind the lodge features arched stone passages, timbered decks and walls decorated with stylised prehistoric cave art, with torches and a central fire kept burning. Guest rooms are arranged along the rim each with a rock?edged balcony and uninterrupted views over the volcanic caldera. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight in Ngorongoro.
Day 12 - Ilturot Lorkereyan
After breakfast, we descend through the morning mist into the Ngorongoro Crater the worlds largest intact volcanic caldera dropping around 600 metres to the floor for game viewing with a picnic lunch. At about 19 km across, the basin spans forests, swamps, lakes and springs, open grasslands and sandy dunes, supporting more than 25,000 animals. The Maasai have traditionally lived here and share the landscape with black rhino, wildebeest, zebra, eland, gazelle, lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, spotted hyena, jackal and cheetah. We return to the lodge in the late afternoon. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight in Ngorongoro.
Day 13 - Nairobi
If youre up early, you can watch sunrise spill across the eastern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. After breakfast we depart the lodge and drive back to Arusha, arriving in time for lunch. We then transfer to Nairobi for your drop off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport please book your onward flight from 11:00 pm onwards.
