Day 1 - Amman
Upon your arrival at Amman Airport, you will be warmly welcomed to Jordan. After completing border formalities, we will provide a transfer to your hotel. Once there, you'll have the rest of the day to explore at your leisure or simply unwind. Enjoy the opportunity to relax and acclimate to your new surroundings. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Amman - Jerash - Amman
After enjoying breakfast, we set off on an exploration to the north of Jordan. Our journey takes us into the mountains, where we uncover the AJLUN FORTRESS, a formidable 12th-century castle. This region has long been home to both Muslims and Orthodox Christians, and we will visit the historic CHURCH OF SAINT SERGIUS, offering a moment of reflection. After an included lunch, we continue our adventure to JERASH, where we explore its remarkable Roman archaeological site. As the day draws to a close, we return to AMMAN for the evening, with accommodation provided.
Day 3 - Amman - Madaba - Amman
Today's journey takes us from Amman to explore the marvellous Castles of the Desert, crafted between the 7th and 8th centuries. Our first stop is at Qasr Kharana, notable for its robust architecture and thick walls. We then continue to Qasr Amra, a World Heritage Site adorned with extraordinary frescoes. Following this, we travel to Madaba, where lunch is included. In Madaba, we'll traverse the Archaeological Park via an ancient Roman road and visit the Church of St George, home to a stunning 6th-century mosaicthe oldest map of the Holy Land. Our day culminates with a visit to Mount Nebo, a historic spot where Moses is said to have glimpsed the Promised Land. We then return to Amman, where you have free time to unwind or explore at your leisure.
Day 4 - Amman - Bethany - Dead Sea
On day four, we embark on a journey to Bethany, located along the banks of the River Jordan. This site, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is where John the Baptist famously baptised Jesus. Our journey continues with a visit to the Dead Sea Museum, housed within the impressive Panorama Complex. Lunch is provided as part of the experience. Upon arrival at our hotel by the Dead Sea, you'll have the unique opportunity to float in the saltiest body of water and at the lowest elevation on earth. The day concludes with dinner and accommodation included at the hotel.
Day 5 - Dead Sea - Shoubak - Petra
Today, we'll journey into the heart of Jordan along the historic King's Road, a route steeped in biblical history that unveils the ancient Moab Kingdom. Our adventure begins with a visit to the imposing Castle of Karak an outstanding piece of 12th-century military architecture that once stood as a significant fortress between Jerusalem and Aqaba. Here, we'll explore its rich history as we wander through its monumental walls. Next, well arrive at the quaint town of Dana, where charming stone houses perch on the edge of a vast cliff, offering stunning views. Lunch is included here before we continue our journey along the Kings Route to Shoubak. You'll have the chance to capture striking photographs of the impressive Crusader Castle from the outside, a testament to the region's storied past.Our day proceeds to Wadi Musa, the gateway to the stunning site of Petra. We will visit Moses Spring, which is fabled to be the spot where Moses struck a rock to bring forth water. The Petra Museum offers us insights into the lives of the Nabateans and a glimpse of the spectacular artefacts uncovered in this region. Dinner is included, and you'll be accommodated nearby. If you wish, you can explore Petra further by attending a light and sound show or indulging in a traditional Turkish bath.
Day 6 - Petra - Wadi Rum
Today promises to be one of the most exhilarating days of our journey. We begin with a visit to the awe-inspiring archaeological site of Petra. This ancient city, established around 300 BC, reveals wonders such as temples and tombs intricately carved into rose-coloured cliffs. Our adventure commences as we pass through the narrow gorge leading into Petra, where every turn uncovers new historical marvels. Following an included lunch, we head towards the dramatic desert landscapes of Wadi Rum. At the Visitor Centre, we board 4x4 vehicles that whisk us away to some of the desert's most stunning vistas. Immersing ourselves further into this unique setting, we'll embark on a 45-minute camel ride, offering a genuinely authentic experience. We'll also explore Khazali Canyon, where ancient engravings tell tales of the origins of the Arabic language. Dinner awaits us under the starry sky at a desert camp, where we'll spend the night.
Day 7 - Wadi Rum - Aqaba - Eilat - Saint Catherine
Following breakfast, we depart from the captivating desert of Wadi Rum and head towards Aqaba, Jordan's bustling second city situated on the edge of the stunning Red Sea. Here, we take a leisurely stroll through the city centre, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. We then proceed to the border, crossing into the modern and popular tourist city of Eilat in Israel, known for its excellent beaches. You'll have free time to relax, enjoy a swim, or explore the local area. After a scenic journey, we continue towards the Egyptian border and enter the Sinai Peninsula. During the drive, we have the opportunity to capture photos of the iconic Pharaohs Island, home to the powerful Fortress of Saladin. Our day concludes with arrival in Saint Catherine, where we check in to our accommodation, with dinner included.Please be aware that at each border crossingbetween Jordan and Israel and then from Israel to Egyptthere are mandatory entry and exit fees. Currently, these fees are approximately $15 for leaving Jordan, $32 for leaving Israel, and $45 for an Egyptian entry visa. These amounts may change without prior notice, so please double-check while making arrangements. Note that drones and cameras with a zoom lens over 5.5 metres are prohibited, as is other professional camera equipment. If there are exceptional circumstances or if the group is small, we might travel directly from Jordan to Egypt via the Aqaba-Taba ferry, a journey lasting just over two hours, during which no guide assistance will be available.
Day 8 - Saint Catherine - The Well of Moses - Cairo
On day eight, you'll begin your journey at the foot of Mount Sinai with a visit to the remarkable, walled Monastery of Saint Catherine. This revered site, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, holds significance for Jews, Christians, and Muslims and is traditionally believed to be the location where Moses witnessed the Burning Bush that blazed without being consumed. Following this cultural and spiritual exploration, we will journey through the compelling landscapes of the Sinai Desert, where lunch is provided en route. A stop awaits at the Well of Moses, a renowned biblical site resembling a quaint oasis. Our journey then takes us through the tunnel beneath the Suez Canal, marking our transition from the Sinai Peninsula to the bustling metropolis of Cairo, where we will arrive by late afternoon. Accommodation in Cairo is included to rest and prepare for the adventures ahead.
Day 9 - Cairo
We dedicate our ninth day in Cairo to exploring some of Egypt's most iconic landmarks. Our journey begins at the majestic Pyramids of Cheops, Kefren, and Menkaure, where you can marvel at these timeless structures from the outside. Nearby, the enigmatic Sphinx awaits, carved directly from the rock, maintaining its silent vigil over the desert sands. Continuing our exploration, we delve into history at the Egyptian Museum, home to an impressive collection of ancient artefacts, including the treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamun. After a delightful lunch, we visit the Citadel of Saladin, famed for its panoramic views of Cairo, and explore the beautiful Alabaster Mosque within its walls. We conclude our day with a stroll through the atmospheric Coptic neighbourhood, taking time to admire the Hanging Church, so named because it rests above a Roman fortress. This full day of discovery showcases some of the cultural and historical wonders of this vibrant city.
Day 10 - Cairo - Aswan
First thing in the morning, we head to the airport for our flight to Aswanas part of our journey, this flight is included. Upon arrival in Aswan, we proceed by road to Abu Simbel. We take a scenic boat trip on Lake Nasser, where you can admire the imposing architecture from the water. Lunch is served in a traditional Nubian restaurant. Our visit continues at the renowned temples of Abu Simbel, carved into the desert cliffs by Ramses II in the 13th century BC. These monumental structures feature statues standing 20 meters high and are dedicated to the god Amun Ra; we also visit the Temple of Nefertari, honouring the goddess Hathor. In the afternoon, we travel back to Aswan, where we will spend the night in our excellent hotel.
Day 11 - Aswan
In Aswan, we embark on a full day of exploration. Our first stop is at the Red Granite Quarry, home to the renowned Unfinished Obelisk. Here, we'll witness the ingenious methods employed by ancient Egyptians in extracting granite blocks. Next, we visit the picturesque Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis, situated on a small island accessible only by boat. Our adventure continues with a serene felucca ride along the river, leading us to a vibrant Nubian village with its brightly painted houses and lively markets. Lunch is included during our visit. In the afternoon, we'll enjoy a camel ride to the Monastery of Saint Simeon. Originally a large monastery in Roman times, it later became a caravanserai. We'll also pass by the modern Coptic church and view the Aga Khan Mausoleum from the outside. The day concludes with free time at our excellent hotel, where you can relax and enjoy the pool and other facilities before we resume our journey.
Day 12 - Aswan - Kom Ombo - Edfu - Esna - Luxor
After breakfast, we embark on a scenic journey along the Nile Valley, with its lush palm groves and vibrant communities lining the rivers banks. Our first stop is the temple of Kom Ombo, which majestically overlooks the Nile. This temple, dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god, showcases stunning reliefs and hieroglyphs that capture scenes from everyday life and ancient mythology. You'll also have the opportunity to visit the fascinating Crocodile Museum, home to several mummified crocodiles. We then proceed to Edfu to explore the remarkable Temple of Horus, one of Egypt's best-preserved monuments, highlighting the grandeur of ancient Egyptian architecture. Lunch is provided before continuing to Esna, where we'll marvel at a temple that still retains its original roof, offering a rare glimpse into historical Egyptian architecture and vibrant original colours. Buried under Nile sediment for centuries, it was only unearthed in the 19th century. In Esna, there's the chance to see the restored caravanserai and view the floodgates along the Nile from the outside.Our journey concludes as we travel to Luxor, arriving in the late afternoon. Here, you'll settle into your hotel for the night.
Day 13 - Luxor
During our stay in Luxor, we will explore one of the planet's most awe-inspiring ancient cities. Early morning, we embark on a private boat journey from our hotel across the serene Nile River, taking in the peaceful views. Upon reaching the west bank, we visit the "Valley of the Artisans," Deir el-Medina, a lesser-known site that housed the skilled artisans who crafted and adorned the royal tombs of ancient Egypt. We'll have the opportunity to delve into three tombs, their walls adorned with captivating scenes of daily life from that era. Our journey then takes us to the magnificent Temple of Medinet Habu, dedicated to Ramses II, where the grand and well-preserved depictions of ancient wars are sure to fascinate.Next, we stop at the Colossi of Memnon, where two majestic statues of Amenhotep III stand, before visiting the Valley of the Queens, home to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a trailblazer as the first woman to rule as pharaoh. Additionally, we explore the renowned Valley of the Kings, where ancient pharaohs were laid to rest. Here, we provide access not only to the general area but also, via an electric cart, to Ramses' tomb, which requires additional entry.We then cross back to Luxor's east bank, where you'll have some free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we take you to Karnak, the centrepiece of which is the vast Temple of Amun-Ra, part of the most significant religious complex of Ancient Egypt. Visiting the less-travelled Temple of Khonsu is also on the agenda. Our cultural journey continues with the Luxor Museum, showcasing an impressive array of artefacts and mummies from the region.As night falls, we immerse ourselves in the enchantment of Luxor Temple, its nighttime illumination adding a magical touch. Finally, there's time for a leisurely stroll in the bustling souk nearby. Please note that the schedule of activities may vary to ensure optimal visiting times based on weather conditions and the aim to avoid crowded periods.
Day 14 - Luxor - Dendera - Hurghada
In the morning, enjoy some free time in Luxor, whether you'd like to take a leisurely stroll, indulge in shopping, or explore the sights at your own pace. Later, we depart for Dendera, a remarkably well-preserved ancient Egyptian complex, shielded by sand and silt until its discovery in the mid-19th century. The site spans 40,000 square metres, encircled by an imposing brick wall standing eight to ten metres high, adorned with impressive walls and grand doorways. The temple is dedicated to Hathor, the goddess of love and fertility. After our visit, we have lunch together before continuing our journey to the Red Sea. As we traverse the desert mountain ranges, we'll encounter some intriguing landscapes along the way. We arrive in Hurghada, Egypt's most popular resort area, in the late afternoon, where hotels extend along a nearly 50-kilometre strip. Our stay here is on an all-inclusive basis, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Day 15 - Hurghada
Today offers a full exploration of Hurghada. Start your morning with some free time to enjoy the hotel's amenities or perhaps venture out to visit Hurghada's large aquarium or museum at your own pace. After indulging in a leisurely lunch, which is included, we head on a short excursion to discover more of the surrounding area. Our journey takes us to El Gouna, Egypts prestigious holiday town, renowned for its luxurious lifestyle. With its network of canals and lagoons, the town offers a unique atmosphere where many homes are accessible by yacht. Enjoy free time here to explore this exclusive locale. We then return to the centre of Hurghada, where we'll visit the mosque and enjoy a scenic walk to the marina, a bustling area filled with shops and restaurants. After some additional free time to soak up the lively atmosphere, we return to our hotel for an evening of relaxation. Your stay today is on an all-inclusive basis, ensuring a comfortable and carefree experience.
Day 16 - Hurghada
