Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Rome
Arrive at Rome airport and transfer to your hotel. Check in and spend the rest of the day exploring the Eternal City at your own pace.
Please note: Although this is a private tour, for included sightseeing, you will join other travellers on an organised group tour, as per the itinerary.
Day 2 - Exploring Rome
Today is yours to explore the Italian capital. Included in your tour package, you've got 24 hour hop-on, hop-off tickets on the city's sightseeing bus, which can help you get from destination to destination. We recommend you prebook tickets to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, and you'll also want to visit the Pantheon and Spanish Steps, as well as toss a coin over your left shoulder into the iconic Trevi Fountain for good luck!
Day 3 - Rome to Pompeii & Sorrento
Rome - Pompeii - Sorrento. After an early breakfast, depart on an organized tour (shared with other travellers) to Pompeii. Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a guided exploration of the famous ruins buried by Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Continue to your hotel in the Sorrento area for dinner and overnight.
Day 4 - Capri Day Trip
Sorrento - Capri - Sorrento. After breakfast, set off on an organized tour (shared with other travellers) to the enchanting island of Capri. Travel by passenger ferry and soak in stunning coastal views. Enjoy a guided boat tour around the island, with free time to browse chic boutiques or relax at a café on Piazza Umberto I, accessible by the charming funicular (ticket included). Return to the mainland and spend the evening at leisure in Sorrento.
Day 5 - The Amalfi Coast
Sorrento - Amalfi. Following breakfast and check-out, embark on a full-day tour (shared with other travellers) along the spectacular Amalfi Coast, marvelling at the cliffside towns that line this breathtaking route. The tour ends on the Amalfi Coast, where you’ll check in to your hotel for the night.
Days 6-8 - Amalfi Coast at Leisure
Enjoy three full days of total relaxation and unhurried exploration along the spellbinding Amalfi Coast. Whether you prefer quiet coastal strolls, sun-soaked terraces, or discovering charming hill towns, this is your time to savour the rhythm of local life.
You might choose to wander the pastel-coloured lanes of Positano, browse its boutique shops, or sip espresso in a seaside café while watching boats drift in and out of the bay. Take a boat to the glamorous island of Capri for a day of high-end shopping and breathtaking cliffside views, or visit the famous Blue Grotto by small boat. For a deeper cultural experience, head to Ravello, perched high above the sea, where the gardens of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone offer magnificent views and a sense of timeless elegance.
Alternatively, spend a day unwinding on a sunlounger at a beach club, pausing only for a swim in the crystal-clear waters or a leisurely lunch of fresh seafood and local wine. Walk part of the legendary Path of the Gods for unforgettable vistas over the coast, or join a cooking class and learn to prepare classic Campanian dishes like gnocchi alla sorrentina or lemon-scented fish.
Evenings offer the chance to dine alfresco, watching the sun set over the sea as the cliffs glow amber and the lights of hillside villages begin to twinkle. However you choose to spend your time, the Amalfi Coast offers endless beauty and unforgettable moments.
Day 9 - Return to Rome
Amalfi - Salerno - Rome. Bid farewell to the coast as you transfer to Salerno for your train journey back to Rome. On arrival in the capital, you'll be transferred to the hotel, and can spend your final evening in Italy at leisure.
