Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome! Upon your arrival, we'll arrange your transfer to the hotel. Later, our guide will meet you to provide essential information about your stay, and you can also find helpful details on the information board at the hotel reception. In the evening, well introduce you to Rome with a visit to Via Cavour, a vibrant street offering diverse dining options. Here, you can savour Italian, Indian, Chinese, and international cuisines, setting the stage for an exciting journey ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Rome
In the morning, we set off to explore the wonders of Rome on a three-hour guided tour, a blend of walking through the heart of Imperial Rome and a panoramic bus journey. Witness the grandeur of one of Western civilization's oldest cities as we visit iconic sites. Marvel at the Arch of Constantine, take in the exterior views of the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums, and admire the historic Circus Maximus. See the ancient grandeur of the Baths of Caracalla and the stunning Basilica of Saint Mary Major. We'll also pass the Pyramid of Cestius and Castel Sant'Angelo before concluding our tour at Vatican City around 11:00 am. After the tour, there is an option to delve deeper into Vatican treasures with a guided visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. As the day winds down, we include a transfer to Trastevere, a lively district famed for its inviting restaurants and vibrant atmospherea perfect spot to unwind. We'll head back to the hotel by around 8:30 pm.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today, we set off from Rome, journeying northwards through the picturesque Italian countryside. Upon our arrival in Florence, we'll head directly to the impressive Piazzale Michelangelo, where panoramic views of the city unfold before us. After taking in the iconic skyline, we make our way towards Florence's historic centre. You'll have time to enjoy lunch at your leisureyou might choose a delightful trattoria or a quaint caf.Following lunch, we'll embark on a guided walking tour led by a local expert. As we wander through this open-air museum, we'll visit the celebrated landmarks that define Florence: the graceful Ponte Vecchio, the stunning Duomo, and the bustling Piazza della Signoria. Our tour provides an insightful look into the city's rich past and its enduring influence on art and culture.After the tour, you'll have some free time to further explore the vibrant streets of Florence on your own. Day 4 - Florence - Venice
Today, we'll traverse the picturesque vistas of the Apennine Mountains, heading towards Venice. Upon our arrival, a boat awaits to take us across the Giudecca Canal to the enchanting Island of Venice. Here, a local guide will lead us through the splendour of St. Marks Square. After exploring this iconic site, we'll delve into the craft of glassmaking with a visit to the Murano Glass Factory, where you'll witness the captivating techniques that produce this ancient art. You'll then have free time to wander and soak up the unique atmosphere of Venice at your leisure. Tonight's accommodation will be in the Mestre district.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
Today, we journey from the enchanting canals of Venice to the picturesque landscapes of Austria. Our first stop is Innsbruck, where youll have time to wander through the historic city centre and savour lunch in the heart of Austrias Tyrolean capital. From Innsbruck, we traverse scenic mountain roads to reach the charming village of Kitzbhel, renowned for its ski resorts and year-round snowy allure. Take a leisurely stroll and appreciate the idyllic surroundings before we continue our voyage to Salzburg, arriving by days end. Note: On occasions with fewer travellers, we may opt for a train journey from Venice to Innsbruck.
Day 6 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
Today, we will delve into the rich heritage of Austria. Our morning begins in Salzburg, the city of Mozart, whose stunning Renaissance and Baroque architecture is gracefully overshadowed by the imposing fortress that watches over the city. Leaving Salzburg behind, we continue through Austria's captivating terrain of lakes and mountains towards St. Wolfgang, a site of spiritual significance attracting pilgrims from all over. Our journey takes us next to the picturesque town of Traunkirchen, nestled beside the serene Traunsee Lake. From here, we embark on a captivating cruise exploring four charming castles dotting the lake's edge, concluding our journey at the lovely town of Gmunden. We will then make our way to Vienna, the grand capital of Austria, arriving by evening.
Day 7 - Vienna
Today, we will embark on an exciting panoramic tour of Vienna with a local guide. We will explore the city's grand avenues, exquisite palaces, sprawling parks, and lively city centre, capturing the vibrancy and elegance for which Vienna is renowned. In the afternoon, you will have the freedom to wander at your leisure, perhaps visiting the shops, museums, or cafs that catch your eye. As evening descends, we will provide a transfer to the Grinzing districta former wine-growing village now part of the city. Known for its charming traditional taverns, Grinzing offers a delightful array of dining options where you can enjoy a relaxing meal to round off your day.
Day 8 - Vienna - Budapest
After a journey of approximately three hours, we will arrive in Budapest, the vibrant capital of Hungary. Our first stop will be Vci utca, a bustling area where youll have some leisure time to enjoy lunch and explore. Following this, well embark on a memorable boat trip along the Danube River. As you cruise, you'll witness the historic Buda on one bank and the lively Pest on the other, providing spectacular views that capture the essence of this magnificent city. Our exploration continues with a panoramic tour of Budapest, often dubbed the "Queen of the Danube." After the tour, you'll have free time to delve into the city's unique charm on your own. In the evening, well extend an invitation for you to experience a traditional Magyar show, complete with dinner for those interested.
Day 9 - Budapest - Bratislava - Prague
On Day 9, we set off early from Budapest, heading towards Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. This charming city nestled along the Danube boasts an enchanting historic centre. You'll have the opportunity to explore the city and enjoy lunch before we continue our journey into the Czech Republic. By evening, we'll arrive in Prague, where you can anticipate the cultural treasures awaiting you.
Day 10 - Prague
Today, we begin our exploration of Prague, affectionately known as the Baroque jewel of Europe. Accompanied by a local guide, we embark on a panoramic tour that showcases the city's most remarkable monuments, offering insights into its rich history. A highlight of the morning is a visit to Prague Castle, with entry included, where centuries of architectural prowess and regal grandeur unfold before us.Following this, we will enjoy an included boat ride along the Vltava River, which presents a unique perspective of Prague's charming landscape as we gently glide by. Later in the afternoon, youll have the freedom to roam the city at your leisure, taking in its vibrant atmosphere and numerous attractions. Day 11 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
Today, we set off early from Prague, heading towards Pilsen in western Bohemia, a city celebrated for its beer-making tradition. You'll have the opportunity to wander through Pilsen's historic centre, where you can admire the Old Town Square, the grand cathedral, the Plague Column, and the Renaissance town hall. Our journey continues as we cross the border into Germany, tracing part of the famed Romantic Road. We'll stop in Rothenburg, a picturesque town that seems to have leapt straight out of a storybook, known as one of Germany's most enchanting villages. Later in the day, we proceed to Frankfurt, Germanys bustling financial hub. After our arrival in the evening, you have free time to explore the historic city centre, which offers a diverse range of dining options from Indian and Asian to Italian and international cuisines.
Day 12 - Frankfurt - Cruise on the Rhine - Cologne - Amsterdam
We set sail along the most picturesque section of the Rhine today, as we cruise between the charming villages of Rdesheim and St. Goar. This scenic journey captures the essence of the Rhine Valley with its rolling vineyards, enchanting castles, and quaint townscapes. Once our river adventure concludes, we make our way to Cologne, renowned for its towering Gothic cathedral, which dominates the skyline and inspires awe with its intricate architecture. Our journey continues as we head towards Holland, reaching the vibrant city of Amsterdam by evening. Here, you'll have the chance to soak in the citys unique charm, offering a delightful blend of history, art, and modernity.
Day 13 - Amsterdam
Today, we'll explore some of the most charming aspects of the Netherlands, starting with a visit to Zaanse Schans a living museum filled with traditional houses, canals, and windmills that capture the quintessential Dutch countryside. Next, we'll head to Volendam, a picturesque fishing village where the colourful buildings and bustling harbour provide a scenic backdrop.From Volendam, we'll embark on a short boat trip to Marken, a quaint village that was once an island. Connected to the mainland by a dike, Marken's unique raised houses were traditionally built on stilts to safeguard against flooding.In the afternoon, we'll return to Amsterdam for a guided tour that will highlight the citys blend of historical and modern attractions. We'll explore from the windmill near Rembrandt's statue to the contemporary charm of the South District and conclude with a visit to Museum Square, renowned for its diamond-cutting history. The tour will leave you in the city centre, giving you free time to wander Amsterdams iconic canals, vibrant markets, and inviting cafs.
Day 14 - Amsterdam - Bruges - Paris
From Amsterdam, we will journey to Bruges, a city renowned for its enchanting medieval charm. Often referred to as the "Venice of the North," Bruges captivates visitors with its picturesque canals, cobbled streets, and historic architecture. While in the city, you might climb the Belfry Tower for a breathtaking view or indulge in some of the finest Belgian chocolate and local craft beer. After soaking up the unique atmosphere, we will set off for Paris, arriving by the end of the day.
Day 15 - Paris
On our fifteenth day, we delve into the rich cultural tapestry of France with a visit to the grand Palace of Versailles, where you'll have the chance to explore its opulent gardens (entrance not included). Upon our return to Paris, we'll wander through the artistic quarter of Montmartre, celebrated for its vibrant bohemian spirit, famous artists, and lively cabarets. To truly grasp the essence of Paris, we embark on a panoramic city tour with a local guide, highlighting the city's renowned boulevards and iconic landmarks. After soaking in these unforgettable sights, we'll head back to our hotel. For those seeking an extra dose of entertainment, there's an optional variety show available in the evening.
Day 16 - Paris
We begin our final day in Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, where you'll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor and admire the sweeping views of the city. Tickets for this visit are included. Next, well embark on a leisurely cruise along the Seine, which will last about one hour and fifteen minutes. It's a perfect way to see Paris from a different perspective as we glide past famous landmarks. The afternoon is yours to spend as you wish, so feel free to explore more of this beautiful city be it wandering through charming neighbouhoods or indulging in some shopping. Please note, return transport to the hotel is not included, and if there are long queues at the Eiffel Tower, we may reschedule the visit for your convenience. Remember to check your flight details if an additional night in Paris may be required. Our journey concludes here, leaving you with cherished memories of your travels.
