Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome! Upon your arrival, we'll provide a seamless transfer to your hotel where you'll have the chance to settle in. Later in the day, our friendly guide will meet you to share all the essential information needed for your stay, and you'll find further details conveniently displayed at the hotel reception. As the evening unfolds, we'll introduce you to the vibrant Via Cavour, an ideal introduction to the city. Here, you can savour a variety of culinary delights, with restaurants offering Italian, Indian, Chinese, and international cuisine. Enjoy your first evening in Rome as you begin your adventure in this timeless city. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Rome
Our second day in Rome begins with an exploration of the capital, acclaimed as one of the most influential cities in Western civilisation. We'll embark on a guided three-hour tour, featuring a combination of walking through the ancient heart of Rome and a scenic bus ride. We will discover significant landmarks such as the Arch of Constantine, gaze upon the exterior of the iconic Colosseum, and roam through the remnants of the Imperial Forums. Our journey continues to the historic Circus Maximus and the grand Baths of Caracalla, followed by visits to the impressive Basilica of Saint Mary Major, the intriguing Pyramid of Cestius, and the imposing Castel Sant'Angelo. Our guided tour concludes around 11:00 a.m. at Vatican City. From here, you may choose to delve deeper into the wonders of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel with an optional visit offered by our guide.As evening approaches, we'll transport you to Trastevere, a vibrant Roman neighbourhood renowned for its charming ambiance and delectable dining options. After soaking in the lively atmosphere and enjoying a meal at one of its cosy restaurants, we'll return you to your hotel by approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today, we depart from Rome and journey northwards, treated to picturesque views of the Italian countryside along the way. Our destination is Florence, and our first stop upon arrival is the breathtaking Piazzale Michelangelo, where you'll enjoy stunning panoramic vistas of this magnificent city. From here, we will stroll towards the historic heart of Florence. After some free time to savour a leisurely lunch, a local expert guide will lead us on an insightful walking tour through the citys notable sites, including the iconic Ponte Vecchio, the striking Duomo, and the vibrant Piazza della Signoria. Often dubbed an open-air museum, Florence is sure to captivate you. Following the tour, you'll have the freedom to explore further at your own pace. In the evening, the local area offers a diverse range of dining options, featuring both traditional and international cuisines.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
Today, we will travel across the picturesque Apennine Mountains, heading towards the enchanting city of Venice. Upon arrival, we'll journey by boat across the Giudecca Canal to reach the heart of Venice. With a local guide, we'll explore the magnificent St. Mark's Square, a true highlight of the city. Later, we'll visit the renowned Murano Glass Factory, where you can observe the intricate glass-making techniques that have been passed down through generations. Following this, you will have some free time to wander and soak up the unique atmosphere of Venice at your leisure. Later, we will retire to our accommodation in the Mestre district.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Salzburg
We leave Venice today, venturing towards Austria. Upon reaching Innsbruck, you'll have time to leisurely explore the historic city centre and enjoy a meal in this charming Tyrolean capital. Afterwards, we continue our drive along scenic mountain roads to Kitzbhel, a picturesque village and renowned ski resort where snow graces the landscape for much of the year. Here, you'll have the opportunity to wander and take in the delightful surroundings. Our journey continues to Salzburg, where we arrive by the day's end. Note: Depending on traveller numbers, we might travel by train from Venice to Innsbruck instead.
Day 6 - Salzburg - Lake Traunsee - Vienna
Today, we delve deeper into the treasures of Austria, starting with a morning exploration of Salzburgrenowned as the birthplace of Mozart. The city's Renaissance and Baroque architecture is beautifully overshadowed by its grand castle, offering a picturesque backdrop. Later, we venture through Austria's enchanting lakes and mountains to reach St. Wolfgang, a famous pilgrimage destination. Continuing our journey, we head to Traunkirchen, nestled beside the stunning Traunsee Lake. Here, we embark on a delightful cruise that takes us past four of the lake's castles, disembarking in the charming town of Gmunden. Our day concludes with a scenic drive to Vienna, where we'll arrive in the evening, ready to explore more of this captivating country.
Day 7 - Vienna
Today, we'll uncover the wonders of Vienna on a panoramic tour with a knowledgeable local guide. Experience the city's grandeur through its splendid avenues, remarkable palaces, extensive parks, and lively city centre. In the afternoon, the city is yours to explore at leisure. Take the chance to discover intriguing sights or enjoy a relaxing break in one of Viennas charming cafes. This evening, we will provide a transfer to the Grinzing district, a former wine-growing village that is now integrated into the city. Here, you'll have time to dine and savour the traditional atmosphere of its legendary taverns.
Day 8 - Vienna - Budapest
Today, well embark on a new adventure as we travel from Vienna to Budapest, already starting to feel the allure of new surroundings. After approximately three hours on the road, well arrive in the vibrant Hungarian capital. Our first destination will be the bustling district of Vci utca, where youll have the opportunity to explore the myriad of dining options during your lunch break. Following our time here, we'll enhance your experience of Budapest with a memorable boat trip on the Danube River, presenting you with stunning panoramas of the historic Buda on one side and vibrant Pest on the other. Our exploration will continue with a panoramic city tour, which showcases why Budapest is affectionately known as the "Queen of the Danube." Later, you'll have the chance to delve deeper into the city's charm at your own pace. For the evening, we are pleased to offer an optional outing to experience the lively culture through a traditional Magyar show, complete with dinner.
Day 9 - Budapest
As our journey draws to a close, we enjoy breakfast in Budapest, surrounded by the unforgettable experiences we've shared. Take a moment to reflect on the memories made before your departure. We hope these treasured moments stay with you long after you leave.
