Day 1 - New Delhi - Delhi
Arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport, where a tour representative will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel for check-in. If time permits, take the opportunity to explore Delhi at your own pace. As Indias capital, Delhi is a vibrant city where history and modern life intersect, offering a rich introduction to the countrys diverse culture. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2 - Delhi
After breakfast, we explore Old Delhi, beginning with a visit to Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, dating back to the 17th century. On the way, we pass the Red Fort, a significant Mughal fortress. We then visit Raj Ghat, the solemn memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. In the afternoon, we tour New Delhis key landmarks, starting with the Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world and a prime example of Indo-Islamic architecture. Our route continues through the Rashtrapati Bhavan area, home to the presidential residence, important government buildings, and the national parliamentremarkable symbols of British colonial governance. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 3 - Delhi - Udaipur
After an early breakfast, we transfer you to Delhi Airport for your connecting flight to Udaipur (flight not included; we recommend booking Air India AI 471 or IndiGo 6E 2554). Upon arrival, a tour representative will meet you and escort you to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to explore Udaipur at your own pace. Overnight in Udaipur.
Day 4 - Udaipur
After breakfast, we visit the impressive City Palace, constructed from limestone and housing a museum adorned with intricate mirror work, tiles, miniatures and colourful mosaics that decorate its elegant rooms. Next, we explore Jagdish Temple, dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, featuring a prominent image of the deity. We then stroll through Sahelion ki Bari, known as the Garden of the Maidens, before enjoying a boat ride on Lake Pichola, weather permitting. The remainder of the day is at your leisure to relax or explore Udaipur independently. Overnight in Udaipur.
Day 5 - Udaipur - Ranakpur - Jodhpur
After breakfast, we drive to Jodhpur, stopping en route to visit the renowned Ranakpur temples. Dating back to the 15th century, this Jain temple complex is set in a scenic valley amid the Aravalli hills. The main temple is crafted entirely from marble and features 1,444 intricately carved columns, each with unique designs. Continuing by road, we arrive in Jodhpur, known as the Blue City, where we check in to the hotel for the night.
Day 6 - Jodhpur - Pushkar - Jaipur
After breakfast, we explore Jodhpur, founded in 1485 by Maharaja Jodha. The imposing Mehrangarh Fort dominates the city from a rocky outcrop 120 metres high. We tour its well-preserved medieval chambers and enjoy panoramic views over the Blue City from the ramparts. Afterwards, we drive towards Jaipur, stopping at Pushkar en route. Pushkar is a significant Hindu pilgrimage site centred around its sacred lake, believed to hold great spiritual power. We take a moment to appreciate the lake before strolling through the towns vibrant streets and markets. Later, we continue to Jaipur and check in at the hotel for the night.
Day 7 - Jaipur
After breakfast, we visit Amber Fort, the former capital until 1727. We ascend to the fort by jeep to explore its well-preserved halls, including the mirror-adorned Jagmandir and the small temple dedicated to the goddess Kali. Next, we tour Jaipurs Pink City, taking in the City Palace, the astronomical observatory, the Palace of Winds, and the vibrant markets that line the streets. After the sightseeing, you will have the afternoon at leisure in Jaipur.
Day 8 - Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
After breakfast, we depart for Agra, stopping en route at Fatehpur Sikri, the former Mughal capital built by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century. This impressive red sandstone city was abandoned after just 15 years due to water shortages. Here, we explore the grand palaces and visit the Jama Masjid, near which lies the tomb of Saint Salim Chisti. Continuing to Agra, we check in at the hotel before visiting the Taj Mahal in the afternoon. This iconic marble mausoleum was commissioned by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal and is renowned worldwide for its exquisite beauty. Overnight in Agra.
Day 9 - Agra - Delhi - Varanasi
After breakfast, we visit Agra Fort, a formidable red sandstone fortress housing numerous Mughal palaces and pavilions. Explore the Diwan-i-Am, the Hall of Public Audience where the emperor met his subjects, and the Diwan-i-Khas, the Hall of Private Audience used for meetings with foreign dignitaries. Following the tour, we drive to Delhi International Airport for your flight to Varanasi (flight not included; we recommend Air India AI 427 or SG 2538). On arrival, a tour representative will meet you and assist with your transfer and hotel check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Overnight in Varanasi.
Day 10 - Varanasi
We start early with a boat ride on the Ganges, weather and water levels permitting, to witness the citys morning ritualspurification ceremonies, sacred baths and the chanting of religious mantras that define Varanasis spiritual atmosphere. After returning to the hotel for breakfast, we take an afternoon excursion to Sarnath, located 12 kilometres from Varanasi. This is the site where Buddha delivered his first sermon, making it a key pilgrimage destination for Buddhists across India. In the evening, we return to the ghats to attend a ceremony honouring the Ganges, subject to weather conditions during the monsoon season. Overnight in Varanasi.
Day 11 - Varanasi - Delhi
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Varanasi Airport for your flight back to Delhi. On arrival, a tour representative will meet you and assist with your onward travel arrangements.
