Itinerary
Day 1 - New Delhi - Delhi
Upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport, you will be welcomed by a representative and transferred to your hotel. Delhi presents a striking contrast between the old and the new. Old Delhi, once the Muslim Indian capital from the 17th to 19th centuries, is rich with mosques, forts, monuments and bustling bazaars that retain a medieval character. In contrast, New Delhi, designed during the British colonial era, features grand monuments reflecting the legacy of Mughal, Turk, Persian and British rulers. In the evening, we will hold a welcome briefing with your tour manager to introduce the journey ahead. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2 - Kherka Musalman
After breakfast, we set out on a full-day sightseeing tour of Delhi, exploring both Old and New Delhi. Begin with a visit to the imposing Red Fort, the largest monument in Old Delhi (closed on Mondays). Nearby stands the 17th-century Jama Masjid, Indias largest mosque. We then walk through the bustling bazaars of Chandni Chowk, experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of this historic market. Next, visit Raj Ghat, the simple black marble memorial marking the site of Mahatma Gandhis cremation. In New Delhi, we see India Gate, a war memorial dedicated to those who died in the First World War, and the grand avenue leading to the Presidents House, flanked by Parliament and the Secretariat buildings. The tour continues to Humayuns Tomb, a precursor to the Taj Mahal, before concluding at Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world.
