Itinerary
Day 1 - Exploring Delhi & Drive To Agra
Delhi - Agra. You will be picked up from your hotel, the airport or any preferred location in Delhi, Noida or Gurugram to begin your city tour.
You first visit Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in 1193 by Qutub-ud-din Aibak. Standing 73 metres tall, this five-storey tower was inspired by the Minaret of Jam. Continue to the Lotus Temple, famous for its striking flower-shaped design. Completed in 1986, this Bahá’í House of Worship welcomes people of all faiths and is one of Delhi’s most admired architectural landmarks. Next, stop at India Gate, a war memorial dedicated to soldiers of British India who lost their lives in various conflicts, now also a popular local gathering place. You drive past Parliament House, or Sansad Bhavan, whose circular design reflects the Ashoka Chakra, and Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India, set within expansive gardens and open grounds.
There will be time for lunch at a local restaurant before setting off on the three-hour drive along the Yamuna Expressway to Agra, where you spend the night.
Day 2 - The Taj Mahal, Agra & Jaipur
Agra - Jaipur. Early this morning, you visit the Taj Mahal to witness the breathtaking sunrise over this iconic monument. Enjoy a guided tour inside for around two hours as your guide shares the story of how Emperor Shah Jahan built this marble masterpiece in 1630 in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Recognised as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Taj Mahal remains a timeless symbol of love.
Afterwards, return to the hotel for breakfast before checking out and visiting Agra Fort and Itmad-ud-Daula. Both are UNESCO World Heritage Sites showcasing the grandeur of Mughal architecture. Agra Fort, once the main residence of the Mughal emperors, offers a fascinating insight into India’s royal history.
Following your sightseeing, make the five-hour drive to Jaipur via highway. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and take the evening to relax.
Day 3 - Exploring Amber Fort & Jaipur
After breakfast, explore Jaipur, famously known as the Pink City. You begin with an excursion to Amber Fort, located on a hill just outside the city. Enjoy the memorable experience of riding a jeep up to the fort’s entrance, where you can admire its impressive blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
In the afternoon, visit the City Palace, a magnificent complex in the heart of Jaipur showcasing an elegant fusion of Rajasthani and Mughal styles. Nearby, you see the Central Museum, the Jantar Mantar observatory (the largest of the five built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh), and the Hawa Mahal, or Palace of Winds, designed for royal ladies to observe processions unseen from behind its latticed façade. All these landmarks lie within or close to the City Palace complex.
The remainder of the afternoon is free for you to explore Jaipur’s vibrant markets, famous for textiles, gems, carpets and handicrafts. It’s the perfect opportunity to pick up souvenirs or simply enjoy the city’s lively atmosphere.
Day 4 - Delhi
Check-out after breakfast for the five-hour journey back to Delhi, where you can be dropped at the airport or your preferred drop off location in the city. If you prefer, we can arrange for you to be transferred to the airport in Jaipur to continue your travels.
