Itinerary
Day 1 - Athens
Upon arrival at Athens Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle for a comfortable start to your stay. In the afternoon, around 2:00 pm, we take a leisurely drive along the scenic coastal road, passing the stunning beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni, and Varkiza. The journey continues with breathtaking views of the Saronic Gulf and its offshore islets, leading to Cape Sounio the southernmost point of Attica. Here, you will visit the striking Temple of Poseidon, renowned for its white marble pillars set against the sea. After exploring the temple, you will have some free time to stroll along the rocky promontory, taking in the dramatic coastal landscape. We then return to your hotel in Athens for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Athens - Epidaurus - Mycenae - Olympia
After breakfast, we leave Athens and make a brief stop at the Corinth Canal, an impressive engineering feat linking the Aegean and Ionian Seas. We then continue to Epidaurus to explore the ancient theatre, renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Next, we pause in the charming seaport town of Nauplia before travelling through the Argos plain to reach Mycenae. Here, we visit the archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon, gaining insight into classical Greek culture. In the afternoon, we journey onwards to Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Upon arrival, we check in to our hotel, enjoy dinner, and rest ahead of the next days explorations.
Day 3 - Olympia - Athens
After breakfast, we explore the remarkable archaeological site of Olympia. You will see the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the altar of the Olympic flame, and the ancient stadium where the original Olympic Games were held. We also visit the Archaeological Museum, home to unique artefacts including the renowned statue of Hermes by Praxiteles. Afterwards, we travel back to Athens, passing through Patras where you can admire the impressive Antirion BridgeEuropes longest and most modern cable-stayed bridge. We continue to Athens, arriving at the airport in the early evening (around 7:00 pm). Please ensure your departure flight is scheduled accordingly.
